Roy's mind wrestles with the outcome of the vote, despite the positive result. Though broken and weary, thoughts of revenge still flicker in his mind. He clings to the belief that there must be a way out, a path to freedom, a route to Balmung.

Before he can entertain another glimmer of optimism, Okidogi's cruel toss sends Roy crashing into the mess below the platform. Rotten flesh and remnants of dessert cushion the impact, but pain still ripples through his exhausted body. The chain around his neck connects to the floor, anchoring him to the ground and restricting his movements. With orders given to him by one of the megalopans, Roy resigns himself to the menial task at hand, recognizing obedience as his only chance for survival.

"You okay?" he mutters, turning to check on his cellmate.

Before an answer can be given, a looming threat materializes against the shadows. A strange creature is drawn to Roy's words. With a relentless charge, the monster targets the draconid, unleashing vine-like whips that lash out. Roy's attempt to evade are hindered by his chained leash, trapping him within the creature's reach.

Roy paused, his eyes scanning the flowing water as if he was seeking inspiration from its ancient currents. Despite his proficiency in draconic, his tongue still stumbled over unfamiliar words, weaving through the language's intricate tones and whispers until he found the right ones.

"qe tokeq."

The syllables hung in the air as the meaning of the phrase finally made its mark on the draconid. It was a farewell, tinged with a sense of finality that echoed through the peacefulness of the riverbank. Helping the Top Champion learn these words felt bittersweet in some strange way.

"I have to get back to work," Roy announced, rising from his spot by the river. "It was nice seeing you again."

With a nod of respect, Roy headed back to his duties at the shrine.

Roy's plan crumbles under the watchful eye of their simian warden, who doesn't miss his sly attempt to conceal a crystal. It's a costly mistake, a lesson etched in the realization that cleverness alone won't secure his freedom. If he's to escape this prison, he'll need to do far better than that. For now, he would begrudgingly play the role they've assigned him.

As the chain tightens around his neck, he's forced to relinquish the tera crystal behind his mask. His gaze darts around the room, landing on a crystal on the ceiling that displayed a brutal spectacle. Pokemon images flash across the screen as the megalopolans smash poke balls between each swap of the monitor. Each strike takes a toll on him, but the realization does not truly set in until he sees his own kingdra appear on the screen.

The anguish consumes him, manifesting in erratic movements until he's dropped onto the floor with the other prisoners. Exhausted and drained, his mind races with thoughts of survival and escape. When the prison guards demand his response, Roy's gaze shifts between Illie and the drooling megalopolan.

"Trust," he murmurs hoarsely, pushing himself up from the cold floor with trembling palms.

"That's kind of you," he mused, his gaze drifting over the tranquil river. "I didn't expect that kind of thing out of the Top Champion."

To Roy, a position like that seemed to favor alliances over friendships. Celebrities often lacked such kindness, making the Top Champion's gesture all the more noteworthy. Kyle's short tale painted him as honorable to the draconid.

Rubbing his palms together, he used a single thumb to trace imaginary flaws along the inside of his hand. It was his way of organizing thoughts.

"I can help you practice," he pressed, attempting to mirror Kyle's admirable spirit. "Any specific word or phrase you're aiming to master?"

She mentioned a name or two that he recognized, but most of the details were foreign to him. Roy wasn't here for any of it. In a way, all of it was foreign, because he wasn't here for it.

"Yeah," he paused, taking a moment to absorb the scenery.

"And Kyurem."

Roy didn't like asking others for help, but he knew it was his best shot for specifics outside of exploring the area himself. Tales of apocalypse were common from his grandmother. The icy graveyard presented itself as something from one of those stories.

"Do you know anything about either of them?"

After her reply, he recognizes her voice. This is Illie, the same girl from before. Though it doesn't improve his situation, the familiarity offers some form of relief. As she claws at his palms, embarrassment colors the cheeks locked behind his mask, forcing him to instantly pull away. With words spilling from the nearby cell, it quickly becomes a tempting outlet for his frustration. But before he can react, she beats him to it, unleashing her own frustrations to their neighbors.

The entrance of the Megalopolans and their leader interrupts the tense moment. They're equipped with trays of purple mochi. Initially hesitant like the others, Roy's resolve wavers when he learns the consequences of refusal. He approaches the tray, stoops to pick up a single mochi, and inspects it cautiously. Then, with a swift motion, he hides it beneath his mask and seemingly swallows it whole. He pushes the tray with his toes to Illie, offering not even a single word as he attempts to avoid attention.

The transformation of the purple chain into a giant leash catches Roy off guard, but he adapts quickly to their new job. Outside their cell, a chaotic scene unfolds as they're tasked with sorting tera crystals from the debris. Roy dives into the work, selecting a crate of his own as a tool to separate the crystals from the rocks. As Munkidori and the Megalopolans oversee the operation, Roy seizes an opportunity to pocket a tera crystal for himself, the sharp edges cutting the roof of his mouth as he quickly stuffs it behind his mask.

Unlike most people that would've been taken back by its appearance, Roy instantly shifted his posture in such a way that treated the pokemon like a campfire. With his palms forward, the draconid sought any method to remove the cold that started to eat away at his fingertips. This campfire would act as the cornerstone to the child's description of the location.

"Hmm," he only groans to her story as he's lost to his own imagination and memories. He had only seen things on television. He had never met anyone from this place that could explain it in such details. This is exactly what he was after, but he wanted to meet someone that survived it.

"It's certainly something," he speaks of the winter, as he attempts to warm his hands further by rubbing them together. "Do you know anyone that survived it?"

In a way, it felt weird asking someone so short, but there was no one else to ask. No one visited this place. No one was there to explain it all to him.
