And what was his sister back then, but the intermittent annoyance accompanied by that scrupulous fellow she used to date? The very same one that, unsurprisingly, had brought her into Rocket's fold.[break][break] Yveltal lingers with an air of indifference, seemingly unimpressed by the two, though Serena piques its interest with her final, perhaps even hopeful question.[break][break] "...No." It was a crushing thing to admit.[break][break] "...Though I am loathe to gainsay that your lost ones are beyond your reaching, I would not drag the wool over your eyes after I have Opened them to the Truth. There exists nothing outside the realm of possibility if one should but possess the aptitude necessary... But I would remind you of the nature of our work: In the end, everything dies. The cycle never stops..."[break][break] Yveltal turns its lumbering gaze Eastbound, staring wistfully into the distant horizon.[break][break] "...No fewer have wished it such, than have labored to make it so..."[break][break] Its eyes are drawn to Sootopolis, and the emerging presence waiting therein.[break][break] "...For every transgression, for every defiance, later came their regret and remorse in equal parts... They suffer our indignance when we invoke their spirit in selfish need, returned to vessels they no longer remember, as aberrations..."[break][break] Yveltal lowers its head as it reflects upon its purpose.[break][break] "...It is my wish to never again see them suffer in such indignity..."[break][break] Finally it turns its attention back to them, breaking away from sentiment.[break][break] "...And that is why I may yet have need of you..."[break][break] ...How would the two respond to its dire plea?
