she waved to the captain that had driven her out on a small boat. she’d be back soon, she’d told him. lulu had heard there were pokemon in the powerplant, specifically ones she was interested in. she took in the exterior of it; sprawling and dilapidated. her combat boots crunched on gravel and she made her way to the doors, already having been propped open by looters. she slipped inside, perrserker following her. the lights flickered, and she pulled out a flashlight just in case.

pass on pachirisu 1/3


a small spark happened out of the corner of lulu's eye. her hand reflexively went for her gun, but when she looked up, the smooshed face of a pachirisu looked back at her curiously. her hand fell and she stared down at it, smirking a little. it was cute. she was alone, except for perrserker. she could admit it.

another spark came from the pokemon and lulu took a small step back. perrserker, feeling challenged, let out an intimidating battle-cry, scaring the pachirisu back into the shadows. lulu glared at him, crossing her arms and shaking her head. “you're going back in the ball if you don't quit doing that.” she informed it sternly. huffing, she led them forward, deeper into the power plant.

it was so… angry looking. her face scrunched at it, the meter-tall rock pokemon sparking in front of them. it looked like a graveler, although she hadn’t seen one like this before—certainly not emanating electricity. perrserker growled at her side, but didn’t move to attack, surprisingly. it looked up at lulu, and she raised eyebrows back at it for a moment. was it actually waiting on her command for once?

pleasantly surprised, she looked back up. “okay. perrserker, use IRON HEAD!” just as the pokemon came rolling towards them, perrserker charged forward, head-first. the headbutt sent the graveler reeling, and with a disoriented grunt, it took off in the other direction. impressed, lulu looked down to congratulate her companion. “that might’ve been the coolest thing i’ve seen you do yet. more of that, dude.” the viking cat made an affectionate noise that lulu had not yet heard, drawing the smallest of smiles from her.

they continued down the hall, perrserker soaking in its congratulations with a puffed out chest. lulu pretended not to notice, eyes instead scanning dimly lit area for any more signs of movement. they did not catch the dog pokemon as it zipped by behind them, moving too quietly to alert the duo that were already meters away.
