“actually, i—” he would have said he already has a monferno but his words are cut as soon as he mentions the word ‘date.’ no one asks him for a date—he’s always the one to do that, so the man’s offer comes as a surprise.[break][break]

valerio’s face simmers with a flash of pink but he does not let the other guy know it so he faces the opposite direction before he continues to speak. “that sounds like a plan if,” he chuckles. “if i only know your name.”[break][break]

as he turns, he sees the pawniard with a taunting look on its face. valerio glances at his altaria and nods, the dragon launching another draco meteor into its direction before he catches it with a pokéball.[break][break]

"oh sorry, name's kazimir. so yeah, would a date work?" he can't really the last time he's been on a date before with just about anyone. has it really been that long? maybe he's been too preoccupied with other things to really focus on himself, kazimir, so that ought to change for a bit in the foreseeable future. speaking of the future he didn't really have any idea on what kind of date he would even offer the guy after this. boy was he bad at this casual romance thing.

I know some good restaurants around the region we could hit up. my treat." food was always a good way to break the ice between people, especially guys because boy was kazimir getting a little hungry. good thing a stray magneton flew into view and his focus was on that now as his corviknight charged forward with a steel wing to knock it down and let kazimir throw a pokeball at it with little to no trouble before turning back to valerio. “restaurant date is cool but,” the rocket man gives a long, steady look before he continues. “are you sure you like those kinds of things?”[break][break]

he tucks his hand into his pocket, reaching for more premier balls at the sight of a gallade strutting its way into his altaria’s sight. zeus repeats the draco meteor to the psychic/fighting-types retaliation, casting aerial aces into the dragon’s direction. the avian fluffs up with cotton guard before he slams his body into it.[break][break]

the beast is down, and after another capsule is thrown in its direction, valerio continues to muse.
“don’t you want to do... hiking, boxing? gym?” he picks up gallade from his hands them puts it back to the satchel.
“and then we eat afterwards.”[break][break]

he puts stress on the word ‘eat’ as his gaze doesn’t betray his tone.[break][break]

"uh well." he wasn't wrong that a date at the gym or doing something like a home workout date would be right up kazimir's alley considering his figure. he just knew that they didn't really fall into the typically romantic category of dates. still if the guy was up for it who was he to say no to it? besides he hated to admit it but his body was one of his strong suits when it came to flirting, how could he just let it go to waste like that?

"well if you like the outdoors i know a great hiking trail around mt. chimney, don't worry its pretty cool so we won't burn up. and i know a gym with a great spa right inside of it." not to be confused with stormy's old place, he really hoped he wasn't being too forward suggesting things like that. still this guy seemed to be pretty forward himself so maybe that was ok? "how about i make it a surprise instead? it'll be like a blind date, cept literally blind to where ya going." he let out a laugh at his own joke ignoring the duoblade hovering around.[break][break]

"hey some guys are just naturals at small talk." it wasn't because he was winging it and had a few other guys before valerio who turned him down for various reasons. those reasons still hurt as he thinks about it. still keeping up an air of confidence seems to be working, a mental note of that would be saved for later.

“i should now by now: with those guns of yours, you sure know how to dodge a bullet.” there's nothing more satisfactory to valerio than to cover up a compliment with a teasing. his eyes continue to flirt with kazimir's, exchanging giggles and snickers as the croagunk lunges itself in an attempt to halt their flirting.[break][break]

altaria is quick to respond, it's cotton guard fluffing and buffing it's defenses, but is made to cascade into the toxic fighting-type, sending it crashing to the ground and a premier ball meeting its fate.[break][break]

"I find that hard to believe. good looking guy like you? i can already seeing people line up to ask you out." or maybe he had a type that kazimir managed to fill. still it was hard to believe his words. just like it was hard to believe a throh could try and sneak up on them while they were talking and grab at kazimir. it only took one step forward before being drill pecked to near death by kaz's corviknight. as it lay there half fainted kazimir threw a ball over his shoulder to try and catch it and add it to his growing collection of fighting types. seriously he could run a whole dojo with how many he was getting lately.

what could he count as a date? whatever it was he and stormy did while hanging out together? one could probably consider that a date if they looked at it from a certain angle. boy he better hope she doesn't find out about him thinking about this, she was way to special to him to just think about so casually. actually he should probably shelve these thoughts about stormy for another day, right now he was supposed to focus on the handsome guy in front of him, as well as the machop behind him that was creeping up on them.[break][break]
