SETTING: LATE SEPTEMBER
THIRD DAY OF THE WAR
NIHILEGO ATTACK
AS THE NIHILEGO ASSAULT THE VESSELS, their terrifying size becomes apparent. Their tentacles is as thick as an aged tree’s trunk. The tentacles seek Pokemon and trainers alike, splintering barrels and planks when they sweep across the deck.[break][break][break]
The southern boat is battered by
Igor’s Pokemon. As the seas churn violently, rained upon by
mclaren mcflurry’s
HAIL, his Pidgeotto conjures a powerful gale.
Ethel Irving and
Billi Marsh would find their ship pushing close toward the Nihilego in the middle of the ships, the tentacle that has latched onto the vessel’s edge pulling it quickly too. His Blastoise would fire a potent
FLASH CANNON, tearing a hole into the southern ship’s hull.[break][break][break]
[break][break][break]
However, his Blastoise would be scooped out of the water by a Nihilego’s tentacle. The tentacles tighten around it, threatening to squeeze the life out of this turtle. Likewise, other allies find themselves plucked out of their boats.
Billi Marsh’s Corviknight is grappled as it attempts to
STEEL WINGS the Blastoise free by slamming a portion of the limb into an
ELECTRO WEB and protecting
Ethel Irving’s Emolga from being taken by the same.[break][break][break]
On the northern vessel,
skyler dross’s Salamence, despite its
INTIMIDATING stature is ensnared by a tentacle. The Abbiati girls would find their Pokemon ensnared too.
Celeste Abbiati’s Espurr and @seadsoda’s Primarina are scooped by a predatory tentacles and begin to tighten their grips. However, Pokemon are not the only victims. As
hunter warren watches the Nihilego lurch over the side of the boat, a slimy limb wraps around his waist before hurling him up in the air.The seas surge below
hunter warren as his entire body is choked. Those that watch him would find that the view strikes shivers down their spines. In the resulting panic, other trainers are grabbed as well.[break][break][break]

skyler dross barely manages to escape thanks to her Slowbro's
PSYCHIC intervention.[break][break][break]
@dani's Wooper manages to protect its owner from a tentacle with
EARTHQUAKE, while the rest of her Pokemon help Captain
skyler dross continue to drive the vessel forward. Everyone else’s efforts manage to stave off any further tentacles from grapping them or their Pokemon. In particular,
Alexei Ivanov casts a
TORNADUS FEATHER toward one of the Nihilego. As the feather disintegrates, a powerful cyclone of wind batters the Nihilego, causing one of them to release a couple of their prey. Consequently, the Gym Leader will be able to save two of the following:[break][break][break]

THE SOUTHERN SHIP SINKS
FURTHERMORE, THE SABOTAGE PROVES TO BE EFFECTIVE. In conjunction with the Nihilego’s attacks,
Igor’s continual attack of the southern vessel has sustained terrible damage. The ship is pulled close before colliding with the northern ship. Everyone on the northern ship would feel the wood groan and whine as the collision shakes the desk.[break][break][break]
The Captain is swooped out from the southern ship’s deck, and as
oscar clayton’s Haxorus watches the man’s skull be dug into by the Nihilego’s tentacle, it realizes this ship is a lost cause. Already, water seeps through from the lower levels, flooding the upper deck with brine. It

BUZZWOLE
THE MUD SLAP STRIKES THE BUZZWOLE, and as the Ultra Beast reels its head toward
Sénon Game and his Nincada, it hollers wildly. As
Sénon Game’s Salamence flies close, the Buzzwole
PUNCHES the dragon in the snout, slamming it into the beach with a terrible thud.[break][break][break]
However, the Ultra Beast is forced to go on the defensive. @sanvi dives in bravely, her Corviknight
DRILL PECKING the Ultra Beast’s head. Afterward, as
Kaida Adachi,
Orion Lykos, and
ALEXANDER STONE’s Pokemon strike the Herculean insect with
ROCK SLIDES, BREAKING SWIPES, FLAMETHROWERS, and PSYCHO CUTS, the creature flexes to relieve itself of stress. Its body is tough, including its proboscis, which it is able to defend with its bulbous arms. However,
Kaida Adachi’s Toxtricity, empowered briefly by its preparation, unleashes a powerful
OVERDRIVE from its string-like frills. The electricity illuminates the entire northern sky before striking the Buzzwole square in its pecs.[break][break][break]
Briefly, the Ultra Beast seems weakened…[break][break][break]

DAPHNE STONE contend with a Buzzwole of their own. The Buzzwole is slowed momentarily by their attacks, its wings fluttering with crystals of ice.
DAZZLING GLEAMS and
DRAGON PULSES continue to keep at bay, while
Andrew Fisher’s Nidoking lunges forth with a
POISON JAB. The man is with
DAPHNE STONE on her Garchomp, and as they come into the fray, she erects
DEFENSES in the form of a
REFLECT.[break][break][break]
However, the Buzzwole is not deterred. The creature flexes both biceps, breaking free of
June Fair’s Mr. Mime’s
PSYCHIC and the crisp sound of ice shattering greets their ears. Electricity surges around its fist as it
PUNCHES @iris’s Absol, catapulting it back. Likewise, it
LUNGES at
June Fair’s Inteleon, striking it with its spiked knuckles after smashing
noah faber’s Machamp into a nearby island rock with a
BRICK BREAK that shatters both the
REFLECT and the fighting Pokemon itself.[break][break][break]
Despite its injuries, the creature seems to remain calm…[break][break][break]
evangeline hits the beach and springs into action. As
HEAT WAVE burns several Megalopolans where they stand, her Scolipede attempts to rush forth to
POISON the Ultra Beast. However, before it can attempt to poison it, the Buzzwole lands a devastating
HAMMER ARM onto the bug Pokemon, pushing it into the sands like a nail. It grabs the injured Scolipede with ease before hurling it back at her, allowing the Toxicroak and Tentacruel to land attacks.[break][break][break]
A
POWER GEM strikes the Buzzwole from
ian oak’s Starmie, while
oscar clayton's Beedrill buzzes close to the creature, stabbing its incredible muscle with
POISON JAB before weaving away.
priam conrad’s Espon launches a
PSYCHIC attack, which slams into the Buzzwole, causing its wings to flutter in recoil.[break][break][break]
Soon after,
Selena Desmarais joins
evangeline and
ian oak in the south, her Tapu Koko jolts forward like lightning. As the island deity siphons energy from the islands, the Tapu Koko expels it in a flashy surge of energy. As
mclaren mcflurry clears the skies above with her Pokemon, she would witness this giant as well. With no troops around her, she would be able to see the powerful attack slam into the Buzzwole before a violent beam of blood-red energy courses from
priam conrad’s Shadow Braviary. The combined strength of
OBLIVION WING and
NATURE’S MADNESS results in an eruption of flame as it collides with the Buzzwole.[break][break][break]

In the resulting smoke, they are unsure whether the Ultra Beast is downed.
ian oak and
priam conrad scramble to find anything in their respective boats. Both find little, aside from a stun baton and half-chewed limbs, little else is discovered. However, the small speed boats have their keys stuck into their ignition, preparing them for instant departure should they press the pedals.[break][break][break]
Selena Desmarais mounts her Milotic, using
MUDDY WATER to advance; however, as the smoke subsides, she meets the eyes of the Ultra Beast. The Buzzwole stares at the gym leader and her mount, as if to say, “I’m coming for you.” Despite its battered form, it flexes once more and dashes forth with frightening speeds.[break][break][break]

The Buzzwole facing each group find their respective targets. One finds @sanvi’s Salamence, while the other pierces
noah faber’s Unfezant, which flies in defense of @iris’ Absol. The last finds
ian oak’s Starmie, the proboscis piercing through its gem. With no remorse, the Buzzwole begins to siphon vitality from each Pokemon and like a juice box, sucks them entirely dry.[break][break][break]
All three Pokemon die.

With the new energy coursing in the Buzzwole’s muscles, the Ultra Beast seems brand new. It chases everyone, searching for more sustenance with its fists.[break][break][break]

the dark froth of the sea splashes on the rocks. as the ultra beast rushes for them, noah can feel the hairs on his neck curl like sea ferns pulled back by an ominous tide. under the flickering glow of @iris's tossed stun baton, 
she pulls out both pokeballs, recalling her meganium and wailord once the garchomp sets herself and the young man onto shore - just in time to see the bird pokemon get its own life sucked out of it. she visibly cringes, but she knows that acting slowly would only result in further casualties.
