One day his burning honesty was going to get him killed. When that happened, he'd die on his feet like a man.

Ten toes down; soles to soil.

Seemingly uncharacteristically Sénon's voice went up a few octave in a cautious bout of confusion as what he saw walking past behind Johnathan. "whatthefuckisthat?" It looked like dude in a gi. There was no way that was just some pokémon.

What was the world coming to when the lines between Pokémon and humans were nearly erased?

Turning around he saw something his mind could process that much easier. Some terrible mix of elegant and enigmatically ominous. "A mawile..." Once you saw one and learned what it was, it was kind of hard to forget. It was the kind of creature your mind obsessed over until you knew how to stop it. Luckily what worked for the last captures would work just as well here.

On his orders the lizards did an encore of their new combined performance.

Jakka used INFERNO; its super effective!
Salamence used FLAMETHROWER; its super effective!

As master conductor of their efforts he took a bow over the burned pokémon, tagging it with a spare ball.

Jonathan insinuated some interest in a pokémon battle. Although he wasn't quite ready to start accepting challenges again, he was warming up to the idea of competitive battling again. "I cant really say I'm a big fan of Mawile." They were powerful and through typing alone it was worth the effort to have one on your team but "Catching it is really just so that I could remove it as a threat in the field." He pocketed the collapsed pokéball.

Turning his head his attention was pulled away by movement in peripheral vision. A geodude floated by with a look on its face that indicated it didn't want to be disturbed. So much so that when the lizard due went in to engage it, it began to glow with the white hot light of unmistakable Self-Destruct.

Without even needing orders to do so the Salamence spun its body to gain momentum using its tail to slap the swol-rock from their narrow location in the cave to the wider open area where its explosion had no effect outside of the sharp noise and a bit of concussive blow back. "Smooth Hiei" he slapped at the dragon's rough skin; an affirmation and gesture of praise it had come to prefer.

Knocked out by its own power the geodude was rendered powerless to fight its way out of his new pokéball.

Crimsen attempted to capture Geodude!

the rocket squints his eyes with a taunting grin. “i can't say i agree that mawiles are any threat.”[break][break]

he comes to pick up the newly captured nidoking, tossing the ball back and forth in both hands before sizing it down and pocketing it. as he crouches, he sees a beldum which tries to get away as soon as its eye meets valerio's but his altaria is quick. hitting with his wings, the beldum flinches, allowing an easy capture.[break][break]

"Are you kidding?" Their huge mouths kinda freaked him out a little but perhaps the huge mouth was the obvious sign that they were dangerous and thus, less of a surprise threat. "I've seen what happens to people who get caught off guard by one of them."

Although that could be true of any and all pokémon. Maybe Mawile were just more creepy and unnerving than dangerous.

Being snapped out of his inner (and outer via Johnathan) debate he heard a scuffling and the unmistakable sound of one of his boys opening its maw to spew fire; the lighting on the cave walls was just icing on the context cake that his pokémon were fighting without him, which was a no-no.

Either they were in need of obedience training, or they were being cornered by a strong opponent.

Given he hadn't noticed them run off it took a moment to figure out where they were and when he got their side he saw their faces literally swollen from multiple strikes to the skull and the culprit, a smoldered and unconscious Hitmonchan.

Proud of their ability to stick together and fend off a powerful attacker he wasted no time scolding them. "That's what happens when you run off on your own!" Despite his yelling the Salamence and Charmander would find their reassurance when their trainer crouched down to claim the hitmonchan as now part of the team.

Once the Hitmonchan was captured he almost immediately spotted a Bronzor swaying about as it made through its day.

If the tactic wasn't broken, why try to fix it? With a snap of his fingers and a point at the new target Hiei and Jakka used their combined flames to down another wild pokémon for Sénon to claim to the team.

Jakka used INFERNO; its super effective
Bronzor was badly burned!
Salamence used FLAMETHROWER; its super effective!

Well before the flames cleared up the Steel pokémon would hit the ground with a 'clang', a similar sound being made when a pokéball bounced off its metallic surface.

Crimsen attempted to capture Bronzor!

"Maybe you're right." He picked the conversation back up again returning to Johnathan's area. "I suppose if you have a good team on your side or at your back no single pokémon in the wild is really a problem."
