Instinct sees Gavin reach out to grab the stone that falls from the rubble, expecting some sort of treasure; he curses under his breath and drops it as it burns his hand. He looks to Dominic's gloved hands, then gestures to the rock.

"Take a look at this."

At Gavin's belt, a ring of keys jingles to life and detaches from its trainer. Like it's woken from a long sleep, Klefki shakes itself before gathering power and firing a flash cannon toward a vulnerable bit of wall.

having made the somewhat precarious descent down the side of the cavern to join the others, dominic's gaze follows gavin's motion to the rock he had dropped.

with a quirk of the brow, dominic crouches and reaches for it and although he can still feel the heat through the leather, at least it doesn't burn to the point of injury. "it's hot. i don't know what else to tell you," dominic says with a shrug as he pulls back his hand.

his gaze jerks toward gavin at the familiar jangle of keys, but it is just gavin's klefki stirring into action. dominic releases a bisharp and gestures for it to assist the other pokemon in breaking apart another chunk of wall. as the bisharp slams down a conjured STEEL BEAM. dominic's attention returns to the bizarre rock in front of them.

he'd probably go grab te rock and take a look at what it was, but the prospect of getting shinier things spoke to him more than the curiosity of everything around him.

concentrating on the obstacles before them, priam takes out another pokemon to chip away at the hazards before them. "mirror shot!" he tells the pokemon before it materializes before them.

the ferrothorn appears and concentrates a shot at the wall.

From far behind in the cavern, or perhaps through some secret passageway, a Skarmory shrieks as it carries its suited up trainer straight through. "I was told you lot were in need of help!" Atlan calls out, seeing one of the aforementioned members use FLASH CANNON against the wall ahead.[break][break]

Smirking, and deciding he would chip into the effort, Atlan points ahead and prompts his steel bird to use its own FLASH CANNON on the wall. The explosion manages to clear the last of the rock away, and the path forward becomes clear after the dust settles. Moments after, Atlan descends and returns Chrom to its ball, introducing himself to each individual there afterwards.[break][break]

Where the hell—?

It doesn't matter where beckett carlson came from. What matters is that the cavern feels like it's crumbling around them and Gavin's scrambling to keep his footing.

A Kommo-o emerges from its ball, snarling, and slashes through a rock with its dragon claws. The stone crumbles atop the magma, giving Gavin extra space to stand, and he wipes sweat from his brow. Thank goodness Lugia was no longer out of its ball.

"hello," he greets the newcomer. he's not quite sure who he is, but he accepts his presence for no other reason than being too absorbed in the treasure hunt.

when the ferrothorn grows weak from the heat, priam replaces it for a different one right away. the switch was almost instantenous, powered up by priam's excitement over treasure. "breaking swipe!" he orders as he releases his duraludon.

the dragon-type appears, demolishing a layer of the wall with a breaking swipe.

Atlan scoffs as he reaches for another heavy ball clipped to his belt, regarding Gavin with an amused smirk. "Well, shit, grouchy. A thanks wouldn't have killed ya." He remarks, tossing the ball and summoning a Duraludon next to mimic the other man's action.[break][break]

And, just as the other man's Duraludon did, Atlan commanded his to step forward and do the same. "Breaking Swipe, Svarog! Put your elbows into it!" He ordered, leaning to the side and checking to see if the dragon did, indeed, have elbows.[break]

THE WHOLE CHAMBER QUAKES. around you, the magma bursts into pillars. FOUR HEATRAN crawl out from a crack in the wall, traveling across the cave walls like spiders. Aggravated by your presence, the Heatran attack immediately. However, those with the keenest of eyes, would be able to spot an unusual stone altar on the other side of the chamber. In its center, a small spherical slot remains curiously vacant.[break][break][break]

It is clear that escape is not possible without some sort of fight, for the Heatran are swift and able to traverse this treacherous terrain with ease.[break][break][break]

priam's not too sure of what to make out of the pokemon coming out of the treasure room, but he knows it's something they need to dispose of if they need to reach the altar at the end. he takes out one of his pokemon, showing off the ultimate move for the underground dwellers.

"explosion!"

the forretress materializes from the pokeball and immediately glows white. a large explosion knocks most of them away, giving ample time for priam to be the runner he is meant to be and travel to the other side quickly.

They are accosted from all sides by foes and Gavin unclips Lycanroc's pokeball from his belt; he's been saving this Pokemon's strengths but it looks like they'll need it now more than ever. The feral creature snarls as it emerges, already looking for a fight.

"Stormshards!"

He's out of breath from running about the cavern trying to avoid the magma but Lycanroc understands from these words alone.

It howls furiously and claws at the earth. Splintered stormshards of rock erupt, creating a wall between the trainers and the angered Heatran.

one explosion wasn't enough. priam produces a pokeball that containst yet another forretress that's ready to do the same thing as the first one did.

"explosion!" he yells for the second time.

another explosion blows away a heatran that blocks priam from reaching his goal. he takes the warm piece of rock and fits in nicely to the altar. it's supposed to be useful for something if they got it, right?
