It seems as if the Probopass have been able to forge these STEALTH ROCKS from their surroundings, subsequently scooping up whatever has been left here through time.[break][break][break]

Gavin appraises the Scyther with a curious glance. "Are you planning to evolve it, then? Or do you prefer this stage?"

He considers bringing out his Scizor, having a fondness for it solely due to its steel-typing, but reconsiders when he spots a flash of gold among the rocks. His train of thought derailed, his hand closes around a different ball that's cold to the touch.

Sandslash? But it's a different shadow Pokemon that emerges, a slowly-spinning geometric shape in the gloom.

"This looks like a genuine nugget..."

Unlike most shadow Pokemon, the Cryogonal is not aggressive. It fixes its stare upon Gavin until it's directed toward the wall, where it obediently exhales with frosty breath to turn the rock brittle, breakable.

"depends if i need it to evolve, i guess..." most of his pokemon were in their evolved forms due to the necessity of it in their line of work. "if it doesn't, then it can evolve in its time!"

he expects the conversation to continue before he gets distracted by where gavin starts to gain interest. priam's eyes lit up when he voices out what he had seen, his excitement more vocal than the underboss.

"that's worth a lot of cash right?" priam asks the obvious. he brings out his corsola even before he gets an answer to help with the efforts of excavating it. "icicle spear!"

the corsola stands its ground before the wall and lobs needles made of ice towards the wall. priam likes to think the corsola contributed a lot to the dream team.

obviously what this cave needed was more frigid cold. dominic purses his lips, glowering, and follows marcel's motions as he swaps one pokemon out for another.

dominic gestures to the weakened spot to his froslass, and she dips her head in acknowledgement as she unleashes a flurry of silvered ice and snow; it looked all the more blinding in the weak beams of light provided by their lanterns.

AS THE STEALTH ROCKS ARE CLEARED, the whole cave quakes. Although the rubble is cleared enough for safe passage, the cave's walls' integrity has been compromised. A violent fissure travels from the wall to the ground you all stand on. Suddenly, the sound of a large crack alerts everyone to their apparent dilemma. The floor begins to fall out from underneath them.[break][break][break]

As everyone falls, they see a vast cavern system filled with magma. If the falling rock wasn't dangerous enough, the magma below belches and surges with incredible heat. Find a way to safely land or be smothered by rock and magma.[break][break][break]

The floor begins to quake beneath his feet, but it's the heat that alarms him more than the fall. A glimpse of magma through the fissure has him reaching for the heavy beast ball at his belt, tossing it up in the air to give Lugia space.

"Rain dance!"

He's too stressed to bother with his normal caution, and it pays off: with a piercing shriek, the corrupt legendary flaps its wings and summons a storm to battle the molten rock. The magma hisses as the downpour strikes it, but it's not enough.

"We need more water!" he calls out. "Something big!"

The rain, at least, would amplify the effects.

priam instinctively tosses up a pokeball in the air as soon as he falls. the dragonite pops out of it, its arms moving quick to grab priam's when he reaches out for the flying-type.

"i got you big rain!" he tells gavin before turning to his dragonite. "hurricane!"

gusts of winds accelerated the downpour caused by the lugia alongside amplifying effects of what would have been a torrential rain. he remains hanging on by his dragonite, careful not to get blown by his own pokemon's move.

as the fissure rips the ground underfoot apart and the earth yawns beneath them, dominic draws alongside his party members, squinting his eyes at the ripples of magma down below. his eyes flicker from the weak light to the shadows provided by the rock, and he recognises it as safety.

"don't get us killed," he drawls. dominic reaches a hand out to brush gloved fingertips against the cavern wall. he doesn't have the champion's gift to bend the earth itself, but he has this.

maybe it's hidden in the commotion, in the dark and in the dust of crumbling rock, but dominic is displaced - disappearing in coils of umbral shadow as he melts into the crevices.

EVERYONE LANDS SAFELY. The dramatic sweeping of stone, wind, and water are accompanied by the mighty presence of a Groudon. Magma bubbles all around them, churning hellishly like a crimson ichor. Occasionally, the party would be able to see a Slugma or Magcargo leisurely crawling across the walls.[break][break][break]

Something or several things roar deeper in the cave. Ancient footprints can be seen carved into the walls should you examine carefully; however, the party quickly finds out that they must be careful, for any misplaced zagreus-step could result in an impromptu trip through Styx.[break][break][break]

Gavin looks away for a moment and when he looks back, Dominic is gone. It alarms him before he remembers, turning away from the shadows into which the other underboss had vanished to survey the scene.

"Still not enough, we need more..."

Greninja cannot meld with the shadows as Dominic does, but its dark skin blends well against them. It crouches low upon realising the hell into which it's been unleashed, blades of water forming between its webbed fingers. Gavin shakes his head and gestures, bigger...

The blades shape into a sphere, like a hydro cannonball that blasts toward the rock.

he lands where it was safe to land and recalls the dragonite for a pokemon he had already used earlier. the corsola appears from a pokeball and materializes in priam's hand, being held so he can appropriately direct its attack to where it's supposed to be.

"bubble beam!"

the corsola releases a stream of bubbles from its mouth to an overwhelming degree. the foam fills the area like a sea as it attempts to cover the magma to cool it down for the party.

dominic takes his place, perched safely in a crevice along the rock-face and takes a moment to survey the cavern for the others - he's not surprised to see that they're all fine atop their respective pokemon.

as gavin calls for another course of action, dominic acquiesces and releases his own greninja alongside him. he gestures toward gavin's pokemon and then toward the lava. "match that one," he says, having to raise his voice only slightly over the flurry of attacks and bubbling below.
