THE HOENN ADVENTOURS BRING YOUR PARTY to one of Lilycove's nearby islands. Off the coast, where the Megalopolans had drilled, an extensive cave system has been discovered. Entering this cave requires you to grapple down via rope, and once you alight on the damp ground, lights must be turned on. It's cold down here. As you all move deeper into the earth, a dead-end is met. Equipped with your EXPLORER KITS and Pokemon, this obstacle should be easily dealt with. The company has encouraged the most intrepid and capable of trainers to dig deeper with their Pokemon.[break][break][break]

Should you break down the walls, perhaps, you'll find treasures to take home for yourselves. In order to receive a treasure, you must fully reveal it by breaking all the tiles they are contained in; however, you can only break down 3 tiles per floor. So, choose which tiles to break wisely![break][break][break]

If a tile says requests for a type, all moves used must be of that type unless otherwise specified. If a tile asks for a particular power value, you must hit that value exactly (e.g. total 260 - all of your moves added together, must total 260 power).[break][break][break]

aspen used leaf blade (90 bp). kept it short and sweet!

Once he propelled down in the cave with the rope provided, the man pressed the light on his mining helmet to lite up the area. To no surprise, a dead end was in the way. A chill ran down his spine, taking metal notes of the moisture in the air and the cool temperatures. He gave his crew a polite stiff nod, acknowledging them. He recognized one man who he helped tame his houndoom, wondering how it was going but kept to himself. Oscar battled in his gym while the girl was new to him.

Reaching into his pocket to pull out a pokeball, he released a creature. The shiftry shifted his weight, gaze flickered from his human to area around them. “Better get started,” he told both his crew and his creature, pointing to the dead end, “Aspen use Leaf blade.” The grass and dark type wasted no time. He turned to the area his trainer pointed too. The leaves at the end of his arms took on a slow greenish glow, becoming larger and sharper like a blade. Once ready, he slashed his leaf blade at the rock in hopes it would break away the rubble. This was a nice little break away from gym leader duties.

Alexei swore he wasn’t going to go near the water anymore as long as he lived.

However, the lure of those caverns exposing things that were meant to be found was like—something he wanted to get to the bottom of!

Hoping that they didn’t have to go into dank, dimly-lit caverns that were flooded and had deep water, he resigned himself with immense trepidation and agreed to accompany some people on an expedition deep into whatever the sloshy mud was hiding.

The first thing they came across was a wall, and he had just the Pokémon for the job. Unballing the weird, fruit-like Pokémon, he pointed after the Shiftry.

“Grav Apple that spot, right in the middle!”

He didn’t know how the flying fuck a sentient apple could do such a thing, but there it was. A burst of verdant energy then followed after the Leaf Blade, before he stepped back and allowed their companions a shot at hacking away at the wall.

The tunnels left behind by the megaloplans were too enticing to simply ignore. They were after something, and with Oscar embarking on a new enterprise he could use all the mysterious help he could get his hands on. Teaming up with some familiar faces, Oscar ventured into the underground to uncover the secrets of the megaloplans and take whatever riches hid within these forsaken caves.

His teammates got right to work, and while Oscar kept to himself he was eager to contribute. He let out a venusaur, who barely fit within the narrow cave space. Oscar motioned toward his companions, "Alright stand back this shit's gonna be crazy. Frenzy Plant!." The venusaur shifted its weight, sending massive vines across the tunnel ceilings and walls to strike at the center where his teammates were attacking.

As the dust cleared, the way forward was still blocked. However, the assaulted area looked weak enough that one more attack could do the trick.

mcflurry inhaled the cold air as she ventured through the cave, and it looked... strangely cathartic. because it was. the cold was a comfort, these days.

especially here, near the site where she'd seen so much shit go down.

letting the cold air saturate her lungs like she was holding in a blunt hit, mcflurry's eyes went half-lidded as she let out a visible, shuddering breath of air.

the grass-type assault began, and the wall nearly gave way. cracking her neck, she sent out a small budew — her assigned medic, for this mission.

"minty, u-use razor leaf. try to, mc — hit the weak spot, there."

the tiny grass-type chirped, and a flurry of pinpoint specific leaves struck at the remaining wall. hopefully, with accuracy like that, they'd be able to move forward without the walls caving in.

One by one, each of them took their turn attacking the wall in hopes to break through the barrier. And in no time at all, their efforts were rewarded. Warm orbs took a step back as variable items fell to the ground, scattering before them. “Nice.” His gaze flickered to his team before plucking one of each different item for himself. Shoving the items in his pockets, the man nodded to the shiftry in approval as he recalled the creature back into his ball. He mumbled “thanks” as he put the creature back into his pocket.

The man’s gaze fell on the wall they attacked, noticing a few more hidden items in the wall. “Looks like we might have more to discover.” Plucking a different ball from his pockets, the man summoned another creature. The disaster pokemon materialized before them, ruby eyes fixed on Maverick awaiting orders. “Let’s try a more powerful attack,” he man mumbled, letting his gaze shift to his team briefly before motioning with a nod of his head, “Use mega horn on that wall right there.”

The white furred creature didn’t hesitate when his trainer spoke. Tabior turned to the wall in question. His smaller than the average scythe took on a low green glow before it sudden doubled in size. And when ready, the feline like creature darted towards the wall and slammed his MEGAHORN into the wall in hopes to break away as much as it care before backing away to let the other pokemon take their turn at the wall.

the wall was — well, nearly decimated. that megahorn did most of the damage necessary. mcflurry hummed in thought, recalling her grass-type before sending her bug-type.

the tiny snom was one of her many ice-types, but given it seemed that the rest of this wall required a little finesse, just like last time. looking at what part of the wall was chunked off by the bug-type move, mcflurry nodded.

"st-struggle bug."

the tiny little worm immediately went to town on the wall as hard as it could — however much that was worth anything.

just like that, a portion of the wall was worked off more, and the snom gave a little squeak of victory as it completed its job.

A large chunk fell out of the wall, revealing various goodies for Oscar and his companions to retrieve. The job wasn't done yet though, they would need to keep up the assault if they wanted to break through. Perhaps it was a tad naïve, but Oscar was very much hoping the Frenzy Plant would be enough to smash through. Oh well, can't be helped.

Oscar withdrew Venusaur and sent out a new soldier: Dayman the Volcarona. Oscar nodded to the wall, "There, Bug Buzz through the wall." Dayman nodded, turning toward the wall and sighing. The first time he had been called upon in months and it was to attack a wall. Typical bullshit in the army of Oscar Clayton.

Dayman began to vibrate, his wings rubbing together harshly as he glared at the wall. A sound began to radiate off his form, a mixture of unnatural singing and ghastly screaming. The sound seemed to physically manifest, rushing toward the wall and slamming into it with incredible force. Oscar folded his arms and watched, hoping this time the wall would collapse properly.

Another patch of dirt knocked away, and this time, it was up to him to finish the job. Wondering if attacking the dirt with Bug-type attacks was a good idea (that was what everyone else was doing) he then shuffled around before pulling out a battered-looking Net Ball.

“Well, time to finish the job, right?” he muttered under his breath as he tossed the containment unit forward, watching as his Scyther emerged from the depths.

“Top middle, but don’t hit it too many times! Fury Cutter!” he told Sasuke, a very aptly (if somewhat unfortunately) named Scyther he had with him.

Looking at him confused for all of 0.5 seconds, the Scyther then shrugged before brandishing its arm-scythes and striking the spot he was pointing at.

What was hiding under the dirt…?

Each member of the team took their turn attacking the wall with their creatures, Alexei’s scythers fury cutter was just enough to break loose more of the wall as more items fell with the dirt. His warm gaze lifted from the rubble they just broke to the blockade that still appeared to have more stuff in it. His absol turned to him, waiting orders. He hummed, thinking that maybe brute strength wasn’t the answer. With a sigh to self, the man recalled his absol and thanked him before putting him back in his pocket.

He turned to them, shrugging his shoulders with a half smile. “I guess we just keep digging, right?”

The scarred man plucked another ball form his pocket and summoned another creature once again. His hope that maybe some psychic energy would break away a bigger portion of the wall. His eyes on the two fossils still trapped. “Johar,” he mumbled to the purple jeweled eyed creature, “Use ZEN HEADBUTT right where that fossil is.” The sableye turned to the wall, a large grin spread across his face revealing his pointed teeth. “Just don’t be too rough,” the man added swiftly, fearing that too much power might break them, “We want them… so yeah.” The creature’s head titled to one side, unsure how to be gentle yet powerful. After a moment, the sableye’s center red gem took on a low blue glow. The glow soon created a thin layer over his head as he darted towards the wall, head lowered last minute to slam just inches from where one of the fossil peaked.

Maverick let his gaze shifted to the others as his sableye backed away, hoping his team could help break away this portion of the wall as well.

mcflurry shrugged, guessing they should just continue. there was some good loot so far. albeit, mcflurry felt a little jolt under her skin. she knew the wall was going to collapse soon, from all her time in shoal cave.

still, if they did this right, then it'd collapse to reveal something new, by the looks of it. she could see a little indent of more space past the wall.

either way, there was a fossil there, and mcflurry was definitely invested in uncovering that. helping the sableye out, mcflurry called out her budew again.

"minty, use extrasensory on the wall!"

Progress was made, but more work remained. Oscar rolled his eyes, withdrawing Dayman with an exaggerated florish. This was taking too long, and he didn't have all day. Time to bring out the big guns. "Emma, get out here."

The shadows against the wall shifted as something unseen moved to Oscar's side. Its veil lifted itself quickly, revealing Emma the Ariados. The pale spider quivered with anticipation as it pondered which of these fools that surrounded them would be her target. You could only imagine her disappointment when her master pointed to a wall.

"Psychic, right there." Emma looked between Oscar and the wall, assuming this was some sort of sick joke. When Oscar's resolve did not waver, she sighed deeply before half heartily assaulting the wall with a Psychic blast.

There was one part of the wall that looked like it held secrets… one of them, he thought he recognized? But he wasn’t too sure.

The dirt obscuring it was still far too thick, and so after everyone else had gone ahead of him and used Psychic-type attacks, he knew it was time for him to finish the task.

Unballing a Delphox, he pointed at the top-left side.

“Finish it off, shake the dust off with a Psybeam! But do it gently, okay? Not too powerful, now!” he added a few moments later before the dual-type took aim and released a wave of kinetic energy in an attempt to clear out the dust to reveal the treasures underneath…
