THE CAVE ROCK FALLS APART. Ahead, the path ahead is drowned in darkness. As you and your Pokemon take a breather, you must ILLUMINATE the cave, for your cave lights seem too weak to penetrate the black. However, it is more than just dark. The rest of the cave is submerged in water; however, it is clear to everyone that looks under the surface, that there is a stretch of cave ground to surface upon should they be able to swim through. Ensure to take a deep breath ( or have a WATER BUBBLE) before diving in and don't get stuck on the underwater rocks![break][break][break]

“Well…..” Billi paused and stared down at the water, “That's pretty deep,” he spoke to the others as he reached into his pocket pulling out his pokeball, releasing the large spider pokemon, “so I guess we’re gonna use his bubble and get down to the bottom, ready everyone,” Billi grinned jumping in as the araquanid enlarged it’s water bubble with air enough for everyone to breath.

Something gleamed from the cave wall as the barrier crumbled away thanks to their combined psychic efforts, something that jogged Chryssa's memory. Memory. Her eyes narrowed.

But there was no time to reflect on the half-unburied disc, for the passage itself gave way, revealing a black, rippling pool. Seawater? she thought, but stopped short of tasting it. Probably, unless there's an underground spring. They were on one of the islands outside Lilycove, after all, it made sense that the ocean would find its way inside the ruins. "Quite deep," she agreed brightly with Billi, "And dark! Does anyone have nightvision? Sonar? Mr. Soup, Mr. JJ, no?" She feigned disappointment. "Well, fortunately, I rented a flashlight."

She released a Lanturn into the inky waters. What useful foresight on her part! Its glowing orbs immediately filled the depths with warm yellow light, revealing a ledge on the far side. "And-- did you say we're diving?" Her mind catching up, Chryssa blanched. Her thoughts ticked, trying to figure a way out of willingly submerging herself in the freezing waters. Short of returning to the entrance like Haruka, there wasn't any other way to progress. It's only a dip, she thought. And won't it be thrilling to see underwater?

She wasn't so sure about that, but after a rigid moment she seemed to deflate, acquiescing to Billi's plan. "I have always wanted to ride a giant spider through an underwater cave," she admitted, trying to be optimistic. Big as the bubble was, she was fairly sure she'd have to cling to the Araquanid to avoid falling through the bottom of it. At least they could see where they were going!

"Huh."

Soup hadn't expected to be doing any diving on this expedition. He glanced suspiciously at the Araquanid that Billi had brought out with its Water Bubble.

"Sure, let's go," he said, not convinced at all of the plan's effectiveness. He'd hold his breath just in case. At least they could see where they were going thanks to the girl's Lanturn.

He sent out his Aerodactyl to help them out. The path down there looked pretty rocky.

"Ancient Power," he directed to the winged creature, who attempted to flatten the rough terrain before they went on the journey.

J.J. can't help but feel a little awkward from the huddle with the group as they delve deeper thanks to the Araquanid's water bubble.

”Good to know that none of you are claustrophobic.”

The light from the Lanturn is enough to help guide them, but seeing as they’ve now come to a stop, the dark-skin man attempts to flatten the rough terrain, but the Ancient Power isn’t enough.

J.J. calls out Frankenfish the Dracovish from its pokeball, who seeing the situation, begins to cut through the pathway using its massive teeth via FISHIOUS REND.

Wringing the water out of her hair, Chryssa hobbled forward towards the chasm. The cold of the underwater trench had sunk into her bones after the spider-ride and she summoned her Honedge to help her walk, propping herself up on its hilt to offset her stiff muscles.

The gap was choked with huge stalactites, strung across the cavern ceiling like rows of shark teeth. The only way across was a perilously thin ledge. It did not look safe. And it did not look like something that she, in her sore and weakened state, was capable of traversing.

Chryssa ground her teeth. Could she have her Gothorita float her to the other side with Telekinesis? She was considering how to progress when one of the huge stalactites overhead shuddered, its tip breaking off with a sudden crack and hurtling towards her.

She had no time to think. Her hand moved on its own.

In a flash, blue tassel wrapping tight around her wrist, Muir drew itself and flashed out in a shadowy arc. The world seemed to slow as Chryssa felt her heartbeat falter, impact shuddering down the blade and through her arm, before she completed the move and sent the broken piece of rock skittering to the side. The Honedge sheathed itself instantly and Chryssa let out her breath, staring up at the ceiling where the shard had fallen from. Something glittered in the stone there.

"Up there, that stalactite... there's something inside," she said. "Shall we try breaking it open?"

Soup squinted into the darkness as he exited the underwater passage. Thankfully, he hadn't gotten as wet as he'd feared, because of the Araquanid's ability to support their air-breathing tendencies... but he was still wet aside from his face and hair.

His breath caught in his throat as Chryssa's Honedge leapt out with a mind of its own, wrapping its tassel around her arm and swinging it towards a stalactite. Deimos, not as startled as he was, continued the job with a Throat Chop.

"...Are you okay?" he asked cautiously. He'd heard... stories about Honedge.

J.J.’s eyes squint at mention of something being stuck in the wall. Even before acknowledging it, the others are already expending the effort needed to crack the wall and pull it out. Resigned to it, the blonde shrugs his shoulders. ”Seems like you were going to take a crack at it regardless of asking.”

Pulling out a pokeball, he summons the odd-looking amalgamation of fish and dinosaur. ”Crunch.” he’d demand. Without hesitation, the Dracovish begins gnawing away at the wall.

Billi turned and looked at everyone, pausing for a moment as the water subsided and they were able to navigate the water quickly. Stones lined with water paved the way. And cutely enough Billi released his Yamper from his pokeball, and let the little pup gnaw on the rocks with a crunch, trying to eat them, "You can't eat that!" he mused and pet the dog, "We should be able to break through these stones like this.
