A sunny day outside, a good weather to prepare for a picnic and some hiking. As Balder finished packing up some of the stuff they needed, the man noticed they were out of plastic utensils and cardboard dish to put the food in. Without those, it'd be harder for them to enjoy the relaxing picnic they could have. [break][break]

With a sign, the man got up, starting to look around top find if there was anything left in the kitchen. Yet, it was in vain. Nothing remained. The man would have to go and get a few more so they can have the picnic he wanted, or die trying. "Yo Storms, I'm going to head out to go buy the stuff we're missing for the picnic. I'll leave Blaze at the door so he can get you to me once you're done preparing."[break][break]

Thus, the man exited the house, summoning Blaze a the door so he can protect stormy and the others if anything happened, and otherwise to fly her to him. Balder proceeded to walk down the road, heading for the main streets and trying to look for an appropriate store to buy the missing tools. Yet, who knew he'd get something to salvage this picnic?

Stormy? Work hard to benefit the environment with cardboard boxes and plastic, reusable utensils? What was she, poor?[break][break]

Balder's search comes up with nothing and, ultimately, she is left behind to finish preparing sandwiches and whatnot. They're messily put together, some of them (the ones that he hadn't made himself) and set off to the side.[break][break]

The man's instructions are thrown over his shoulder and she catches them as she peeks around the corner. Her attention rests briefly on the Pokemon in question, before she promptly returns to her hard work in the kitchen. Of course, by the time she finishes, she quickly puts together the mistake in their planning.[break][break]

If they had no cardboard dishes to put their food in... how could she possibly leave with it in tow when she hopped on Blaze to meet him?[break][break]

Stormy stands there in the doorway, pensive and deep in thought. She's squinting at the Charizard while she makes up her mind.[break][break]

She shoves the sandwiches and supplies into one big bag, calls it a day, and get on her way.[break][break]

The woman even came prepared with an extra backpack full of empty pokeballs. [break][break]

Balder had finally found a market that sold the plastic utensils and cardboard plates he needed to do the picnic. To think he had to travel to the entrance of the city to find what he needed... That was unexpected, to say the least. As the man exited the shop, a sigh escaped his mouth and he started walking back towards Stormy's house... Until he heard a voice.[break][break]

"WILD POKEMONS ARE ENTERING THE CITY!" Hearing the shout, the Alolan man stopped, looking behind him to see what was happening. A Tranquill and a Sigilyph were flying towards towards the city center and had already entered Lavaridge. But... What could be making them rampage in the town? "God damn it..."[break][break]

Balder took a pokeball from his belt, summoning his Aurorus. "You guys are going to ruin my goddamn date! Glacies, Ice Beam on that Sigilyph!" The resurrected dinosaur was lowkey disappointed about the reason her trainer was attacking the pokemons, but proceeded to use Ice Beam on the Sigilyph, freezing its wings and forcing it to the ground. The Ex-Gym Leader proceeded to throw a pokeball, capturing the invasive creature. Yet the Tranquill kept on flying, heading towards Stormy's location.[break]

She has her sandwiches tucked under her arm, as one would say, but the top of the bag isn't able to close due to the overfilling of supplies. And, the moment she steps out of the house, she's hassled by a Tranquill with a mind for early lunch. It seems to have been lying in wait, tempted by the smells coming from the crack in the window.[break][break]

Someone shouts about wild Pokemon entering the city - though that isn't the least bit surprising. Lavaridge was a generally comfortable and easygoing town, Pokemon welcome.[break][break]

But what she wasn't prepared for was to be assaulted by wild Pokemon the moment she stepped out of her house.[break][break]

"What the-- hey, bugger off, you lazy bird! Go find food elsewhere, this isn't for you."[break][break]

She sighs, exasperated. Part of her was starting to regret agreeing to a picnic. Balder had insisted, however, that it might help her relax. She was far from relaxed at the moment, and even less so now that he could hear the man himself approaching. He's shouting something that makes her rub her temples, stopping to capture another Pokemon along the way.[break][break]

She manages to beat back the Tranquill and it leaves without another peep. Stormy plucks feathers from her shirt, dropping it to the side.[break][break]

"It's hard to ruin something that it isn't, Balder. This is just a picnic, as friends, remember?"[break][break]

Stormy shoulders the backpack of sandwiches and snack foods, offering it to him.[break][break]

"He did try to ruin my sorry excuse for sandwiches though, the damn bird."[break][break]

The man stashed the pokeball of the newly caught creature as he was heading back to Stormy's place, his Aurorus following him. Getting close, he noticed the lady beating the Tranquill away and removing feathers from her shirt. Then, she proceeded to remind him this was a friendly picnic, not a date.[break][break]

"What, don't you guys have friendly dates around here?" The man was smiling before doing sigh. "Alright sorry. I did get caught up in the moment." Calling back the frost dinosaur that was with him, Balder proceeded to move closer as Stormy was now handing him the backpack of sandwiches and snack foods.[break][break]

The Alolan man took it off her hands, looking at the content. "Sorry excuses? Please. These sandwiches look live you made them with love and will most likely taste good." While they may look messy, it was the thought and the ingredients used that counted, right?... Unless she used something poisonous. Pushing the poison idea at the back of his mind, Balder proceeded to put the backpack on his shoulder, then looked at his lady friend again. "Ready to go? It's not far from here since I wanted you to be at ease, but we do have to walk, or fly, a bit."

Stormy frowns, perhaps a little perturbed by his question. She dips her head to his apology, however, and lets the matter slide. He takes her backpack and glances back up to him when he corrects her on her 'sorry excuses' for sandwiches.[break][break]

"Walking is fine, let's get moving."[break][break]

The thought of flying sent a shiver down her spine, especially for something so mundane and unnecessary. If it was within walking distance, she would manage on foot. [break][break]

Stormy locks up the front door before waving for Balder to take the lead.[break][break]

It sounded like the lady was in a hurry. Or maybe annoyed would be the proper term? No matter how someone looks at it, Balder had lost points in that exchange. If this was a dating sim, the affection points from Stormy had most surely lowered by 30 points. At the same time, He did try to pass this as a date when it wasn't. Definitely not a good point.[break][break]

"Alright, we'll do this on foot. Blaze, do you want to come or you prefer guarding the house?" As the wannabe Dragon was given the choice, he directed his head to the roof, indicating his desire to stay and rest. Balder nodded. "Well then, have a nice rest. Let's roll Stormy."[break][break]

Assuming the lady was following him, Balder proceeded to guide her outside of the city, where the wild pokemons came from. Cutting through the woods, the man arrived at a clearing, covered with red flowers. He then turned towards the Elite Four member, half a smile on his face. "So, what do you think of the place?"

She wasn't in a hurry, but she was, in fact, agitated and distracted. It shows in the wrinkles in her forehead and the way she holds her jaw - there's far more on her mind than Balder misinterpreting this as a date. [break][break]

Blaze remains by the house, and Stormy only gives the Pokemon a brief glance before refocusing her attention onto Balder. He leads her away, and the dense fog over her thoughts seems to fade away the further they go from familiar sights and sounds. In fact, by the time they reach his designated picnic area, she exhales softly in awe.[break][break]

Spread out before her was an incredible view, a wide-open clearing smattered in blood red flowers. It quite literally takes her breath away, and she hesitates a moment, drawn by the man's smile and question. [break][break]

"It's beautiful, Balder. How did you find this place?"[break][break]

The lady seemed to be slowly relaxing the further they went from the city. And the clearing of the red Equinox, named for the flowers, ended up breaking the veil of agitation that was dawning over the lady. She was now staring at the location worry-free, amazed by the view before her. And her question confirmed his observation.[break][break]

"Flight. I found the clearing with only a few flowers at first not long after I moved in your place. And I had some of my grass pokemons tend to the place and spread the flower fields, also quickening the growth of them. And this is the result of their hard work." Said the man as he turned to look at the field.[break][break]

"And these flowers did make me think of you, in their vivid color and how tenacious they are. Plus, they fit your name, as they bloom and grow with heavy rains and hurricanes. Essentially, a Storm." Balder proceeded to advance through the field, before reaching a small patch of soft grass free of flowers. He then proceeded to take a blanket out and drop it on the floor. "Shall we settle here for the picnic?"

The smell of the flowers is therapeutic in it's ability to calm her nerves and settle the conflict weighing heavily in her chest. For a few moments, all she does is take in the scene and breathe, getting lost in the sea of red flowers.[break][break]

She glances up at the sky, then, a brief expression of longing creasing her brows together. She could only imagine how beautiful it could look from above, beneath the clouds, to watch the wind toss and turn the petals.[break][break]

"They've made something incredible, truly."[break][break]

Stormy glances back at Balder just as he looks away and into the field. For a moment, her expression changes into something wistful or sad, even despite the fondness of his explanation. He eventually spreads the blanket over an area free of flowers and she moves to join him, setting down her own supplies in the center before sitting down herself.[break][break]

"Thank you, Balder."[break][break]

It was best for the creature to not emerge for now. Not in this setting at least. The now disformed Roserade would surely feel grief from corroding her own flower field that she had worked on alongside a few others.[break][break]

Balder proceeded to spread the food on the blanket in their containers, as well as take out some of the plastic utensils and cardboard plate. He proceeded to hand the lady some of it so she could pick anything she wished. "Was there any specific drinks you wished to have? And feel free to dig in right away."[break][break]

The man proceeded to fill his plate with the food that Stormy made herself and that she considered messy. He then took a bite out of it and smiled at her. "They're really good. Told you they wouldn't be bad. Some times, the presentation or the outside appearance ain't representative of the quality and love found in it."[break][break]
