A Darumaka jumped out of the bushes and Chu-e glanced it's way before moving on. He had seen the ice version of this species before and hadn't been too interested. It seemed like he could probably find better, plus while he was sure the fire type would have been a good pokemon it just didn't remind him of his old houndour. Maybe something more four legged would catch his eye. So, for now, he just tried to make it a little further down the path without tripping and breaking something.

After passing the fire type by, Chu-e stumbled upon, of all things, a Roselia. He had seen the pokemon before and they tended to stick to the grassier areas and not hang around such hot and arid areas. Maybe this one had been displaced due to all the conflict around Mauville and was waiting until it knew it was safe to go back where it had come from. Chu-e felt kind of bad for it but he also had no idea how to raise it. So, for now, he simply let it be and continued his search.

At the final encounter... well, it still wasn't what Chu-e had really been looking for. But it was a pretty cool looking pokemon, so he figured that he could probably trade for something cool. Tossing out a pokeball, his Slowking appeared. Aloe shook himself lightly and glanced around. Chu-e pointed to the Marowak, who was minding his own business and not paying them any mind. The Slowking sighed but shot a Water Pulse at the fire type. The attack was swiftly followed by a pokeball. His job here was done.
