Lex sighed, bringing her hand down to her hip. Her boot tapped the green grass impatiently as she continued to search the horizon for a pokemon or two. So far, nothing! Regardless, this was a beautiful area though. Failing to explore it would be a poor use of her time. Lex began to walk forward, up and over a grassy hill towards a shady forest that marked the edge of the grassy plain. Much to her surprise, a lone Duskull appeared in her path. Lex was stopped dead in her tracks. The woman took a pause to decide if she wanted to attempt to catch the Duskull or leave it alone and move on.

Ghost-types were always something she could use in her line of work. However, she already had Smoke . . . would a second really help? Lex bit her lip, fiddling with the with Safari ball in her right hand. Ah, what the hell? She could regret this later!

Lex gripped the safari ball tightly, arching her arm back and throwing it at the Duskull in an attempt to catch it.

The dual colored orb sailed through the air towards the Duskull from Lex's calculated throw. The Safari Ball popped open, engulfing the ghost-type in a bright red light before it disappeared and the ball snapped shut. It landed in the soft grass with a thud. After wiggling side to side a few times it chimed softly as the pokemon ceased to struggle to gain freedom again. Lex squealed excitedly and picked up the Safari Ball. Her first Safari Park pokemon! Well, not to mention her first pokemon in Hoenn!

She happily tucked the full ball into her jacket pocket before merrily proceeding towards the woods the lined the large, grassy field. Already she considered this little mission a success! Ghost-types were always useful in her line of work. They seemed to have a certain knack for getting into places she otherwise couldn't. It took some training (ghost-types weren't the smartest ones around) but she had accomplished it with Smoke.

A gust of wind from behind her tossed the long red hair into her face. Lex stopped, swatting it away form her eyes and trying to pick it out of her mouth. What was that?

Lex sun around and gasped. She was face to face with the massive, wide head of a Drampa. The dragon-type floated freely with its large pink eye studying her curiously. The friendly pokemon let a deep, welcoming purr resonate through it throat. Lex's heart was pounding in her chest. She had never been so close to a pokemon so big! To be honest, she didn't know much about Drampa except they were suppose to be green and white, weren't they?

The Placid Pokemon lurked forward, twisting around her and gently brushing her side as she went, encouraging the woman to play with her. What a friendly pokemon! Lex laughed, reaching a hand out to gently stroke the pokemon's soft, white fur. She pulled an empty Safari Ball out of her pocket and offered it to the dragon, "You can come with me if you want, there's a lot to play with outside of this," she said, motioning to the wild area. The Drampa tilted its head, carefully studying Lex then the pokeball. Draaammpp she cooed happily, touching her nose to the pokeball.

The Drampa's large snout gently touched the Safari Ball. The dual-type was engulfed in a brilliant light and sucked into the sphere. The Safari Ball trembled lightly in Lex's hand before chiming to indicate the pokemon was caught. The Drampa didn't resist the capture, she was happy to join Lex and explore beyond the confines on the Safari Park.

The woman smiled and slipped another full pokeball into her pocket. This was going quite well it seemed! Lex would have to visit this place again when she had a chance. The 50 pkd charge seemed like a good investment, indeed. Lex still even had one more Safari Ball left. She slipped her hand into another pocket and plucked out the last remaining sphere. The ball expanded in her hand and she tossed it into the air, catching it and looking towards the forest. "Let's go see what we can find in there," she whispered to herself.

Lex left the grassy plains behind and weaved her way through the trees. To her surprise, this wasn't a forest at all, but instead an entrance to a large shrine. Lex looked in awe at the tall marble statue of a Tauros that nearly reached the height of the tall trees. She certainly wasn't expecting herself to find that in thin part of the park.

She approached it slowly, carefully examining it in all its glory. It really was something. While standing at the base a soft patter of paws caught her attention. She looked down, expecting to see something but there was nothing there. Lex furrowed her brows and spun around, seeking the source of the noise. "Deeee!" the high pitched squeal caused her to jump back. Sitting eye level beside the hoof of the Tauros was a small, mouse-like pokemon. "Well you're cute," Lex smiled, leaning forward. The wild pokemon gently sniffed her face, before gently brushing an electrically charge whisker against it.

"GAH!" Lex gasped for air, falling backwards onto the leafy ground as the tingling electric shock ran through her body. The Dedenne snickered playfully and jumped down, swiping up the empty Safari Ball in its mouth that Lex dropped. "H-Hey!" she growled, slowly regaining control of her now stiff muscles. The Dedenne looked back and Lex could see the mischievous sparkle in its eyes. before it turned around and starting running for the trees.

"Little fucker," she spat, standing up and grabbing Smoke's pokeball. The Gastly appeared before her with a toothy smile, "Get it," Lex pointed towards the Dedenne that was now scurrying up a nearby tree with the Safari Ball still in its mouth, "Gaaaas" he groaned happily, disappearing before her eyes.

Lex stumbled over towards the tree, her coordination wasn't quite back yet after the shock. She peered up, watching the Dedenne stop at a branch. Smoke materialized behind the Dedenne, a wicked glare in his eyes. The large orbs turn a soft purple as Smoke used Hypnosis to suggest the Dedenne fall asleep. The same purple aura began to glow around the unsuspecting electric-type. The Antenna pokemon began to sway on the branch with small, jerking movements as it tried to fight the feeling of sleep. Fortunately for Smoke, he overpowered the Dedenne and she succumbed to his powerful suggestion. First, the Safari Ball fell from the pokemon's mouth, landing on the forest floor. Lex grabbed it readily. The Dedenne curled up on the branch and fell sound asleep.

Smoke looked down at his trainer for his next orders. Lex made a motion with her hands and suggested her push the pokemon off the branch. He did just that, the Dedenne's limp body came tumbling out of the tree and towards the ground. Lex was there to catch the falling pokemon in her arms. She craddled the small pokemon gently and smirked, "Got ya," she dropped the empty Safari ball onto the pokemon's limp body, attempting to catch the little thief. Lex admired her spunk.
