Sand was quite difficult to run on, but that’s exactly why Lex preferred it. It was better for the joints (less impact) and better for hte muscle tone (strength). It was basically multi-tasking and Lex was all about working smart, not hard. Her breathing began to get quicker and deeper as the minutes passed and she fell into a steady rhythm. The calming sound of the ocean waves striking the sandy beach helped her slip further into what people call a “runner’s high”. Lex’s mind was blank and her awareness completely tuned into her breath and body. The world around her was muffled to a whisper. It was a pleasant feeling, the stress melted out of her shoulders. The constant state of anxiety had really built up a lot of subconscious tension. As much as she tried to stay consistently in control of her emotions she couldn’t shake the feeling that someone was constantly watching her.
As Lex continued her run, Aubie took the opportunity of being outside his pokeball to really stretch his wings. An endless night sky and dark sea stretched out before him. There were no obstacles and hardly any other flying-types out at this time of night. The Braviary made for the open ocean. His muscled wings beat strongly against the air beneath him, bringing him higher and higher into the sky. The air temperature dropped and he held steady on a high altitude windstream. The beach was far behind him but his Keen Eyes could easily find the small, bouncing Lex along the shore.
Aubie was anxious for a good hunt. His prey-drive was out of this world as a raptor but he hadn’t hunted in a while. With a slight tilt he spun towards the beach, folding his wings against his sides and letting gravity pull him down towards the earth. His streamlined figured raced at an angle towards the ocean’s fairly calm surface. His pupils dilated, Keen Eyes scanning the surface as a Tail Wind boosted hsi speed even further. The predator’s eye spotted movement of a school of Carvanah below the surface. Their red scales flashed dully against the shining moon. Aubie subtly changed his tilt to redirect himself towards the shallow school. Just before reaching the surface his wings flared wide. The shadow above panicked the water-types and the surface erupted in white-capped waves as his talons opened, entered the cold water, and closed on the firm flesh of one of the school. Success! A wave of euphoria washed over the Braviary. He needed to demonstrate is prowess to his trainer. He beat his wings, lifting himself from above the water, Carvanah in tow, and moved towards the beach.
Lex screamed, startled by the sudden object that fell in front of her. She skidded to a halt, nearly tripping over the fluttering Carvanah. Aubie screech proudly, swooping around the land beside his kill. Well, it wasn’t dead yet. The Carvanah angry bounced against the sand, angling towards his opponent to attempt a Crunch. Abie skillfully placed a foot on top of the fish, forcing it to remain still on the ground, “Wow, er, what a… what a treat!” Lex stammered, bending down to examine the water-type by the light of the moon. She knew Aubie wasn’t going to eat it (he ate plenty of regular pokefood). This was more of a demonstration of admiration on his part and this behavior wasn’t uncommon for the Braviary. Lex extracted a pokeball from her pocket and tapped it against the injured pokemon. She sorely lacked water-types and had a fondness for Sharpedo so this was a great gift.
The pokeball sucked up the Carvanah, tilting side to side. Lex watched hopefully to see if she could catch the pokemon.
Solo wild thread Lex attempts to capture the Carvanah!
