New line up in the Safari, meaning a new chance to try out one of his newer pokemon. This time around the shell-less Oshawott. The poor thing has been depressed since he's caught him, which he didn't blame them for. Though he was hoping that Salem and himself could show the sea otter pokemon that he could fight just fine without it.

Despite the encouragement Razz and Salem were trying to do to get the little Oshawott to try for a battle, at the site of the large buffalo pokemon the Sea Otter ran behind his leg shaking his head. Okay they were going to need to start small to try and bring up the poor thing's self esteem before trying to go big. Let see what else they could find.

"How about this one?" Razz ask his Oshawott, but the otter still idn't feeling it as it seems to protest that it was an electric type and that he was water! How could he possibly win this battle? With a sign the otter moves on for them, Razz looks to Salem pondering if the cat had anyth ideas to help.

Salem seems to suggest that Zaffre just needed time to adjust to being shell-less. In a way similar to how Razz needed to adjust to losing an eye. While the handicap wasn't the same for an Oshawott they were basically born with it, so for the sudden loss was hard. Razz could relate. [break][break]

Though it does seem there is some fight in him. As when a Duskull appeared to try and scare Zaffre he was quick to use AQUA TAIL to drive it away.

"See not so bad," Razz encouraged with a clap for the win. There was a boost for a short bit there, even when a Dedenne came some of it's old confidence seemed to come back for a brief moment. At least until he instinctively grabbed for his shell for it to just not be there. [break][break]

The mood is gone and Zaffre is in tears once again.

Zaffre seems to expect another order to try and fight once more as they walked along, and there seemed to be a chimchar sparing with themselves. Though he was clearly new to Razz, so as the ranger just passed by without even giving the fire monkey a glace it seemed confused. Salem trailing up next to him and explain a tad bit of their trainer's dislike of fire.

A roar is what stops Razz in his place. From the trees a snorting dragon slides on by, and Razz is stuck again trying to figure out what it was for a minute before going to his phone for his DexApp. Ah alolan no wonder why, when it passes him it roars are him again, not will malice but as seeming to thank him for stopping. The small group just lets the large dragon pass as if this was her own personal cross before heading forward again.

As they travel through the safari nothing really stands out all to much, the most interesting thing so far being a small group of Buneary dancing and bouncing round one another as they seem to be singing something as they played. Zaffre seemed enchanted by listening to them sign so they paused for now, hopefully the melody helping the otter get his mind off things.
