It'd been far too long since Yui had spent time with her family, well her foster family but family nonetheless. She liked spending time with her sister stormy but with everything that had been going on with the war recently Yui had opted to stay out of the way and not demand time with her sister. However things were different now, due to Fernando's demeaning comments during their recent field work assignment she was determined to grow. But just challenging gyms weren't enough, Yui had to expand that and what better way than to kill two birds with one stone? Her foster sister was one of the elite four, surely just hanging out with her would increase Yui's...exp total? The girl couldn't think of any better way than to phrase it as such. She sent a text to her sister

She invited her to route 116 asking for her to spend time with her and bring some pokeballs along with her.

Truth be told, it was odd to hear from any of her siblings, if one could even call them that. The entire time she had lived with the Silph's, she had felt like an outsider. Honestly, she figured that the majority of them had all felt the same way. Outsiders referred to them as a 'family' and the various children as 'siblings'. But Stormy had never really considered them such.[break][break]

She smirked as her sister finally arrived. "If I did you probably wouldn't have agreed to show up in the first place." she said looking over at stormy before giving her a hug. "How are you? I wanted to spend some time with you today and catch some Pokémon." she said as she was hiding the real reason for calling her over. She got a bit nervous since this might be a bit awkward if she lead off with it, she intended to tell stormy she's doing the gym challenges and that she's going to promise she'll beat her in battle.

God it even sounded cringe in real life, how did they make it look so cool in the anime?? Yui pouted as she looked over to a purugly lounging around in the sunlight! Yui let out a battle cry and ran over to it and lobbed a pokeball, hitting it square on the head and initiating the capture process. Despite her age Yui was still very childlike and she had the grace of a potato when it came to anything besides battling, coding, and playing chess.

Stormy's expression seems to fall apart at the seams when she's called out so brazenly. She opens her mouth to object, but Yui is already wrapping her up in a hug. At first, the woman doesn't reciprocate, standing stiff as the younger woman cuddles into her. But eventually, she returns the gesture with an awkward pat.[break][break]

Which is promptly followed by surprise as something lands on her back, hugging her from behind. But instead of a real hug, it's a ruse to get into her bag. She had hidden a few snacks for the day to share between them, and a thieving little monkey was rummaging through and stuffing his face.[break][break]

"Hey, wait a minute! Those aren't yours, you little devil!"[break][break]

The purse is dropped in the confusion, and while Yui goes after a Purugly, Stormy is gripping a pokeball in her hand to throw at the escaping Aipom, it's giant tail-hand wrapped around a wrapped up sandwich.[break][break]

But before the ball leaves her fingertips, movement from the corner of her eye launches and tackles the Aipom to the ground in a flurry of wings. It turns out, the Fletchinder she had let out earlier to stretch its wings had come to her rescue. The sandwich is charred but rescued, and Stormy tosses the pokeball at the bratty Pokemon.[break][break]

"I'm good. How have you been?"[break][break]

Yui also spotted a toucannon hiding in the treeline above the purugly. She guessed the purugly got tired of chasing it and was just staring at it from below the tree it was under. Yui lobbed a pokeball straight up smacking it straight into the pokemon's beak who bonked it right back at her. It hit her square in the forehead and she fell to the floor stunned after a few moments Yui got back up and stompped her foot at the dirt "What the heck! that was so rude! When toucannon was about to hit her straight on she stood still and extended her hand out with the pokeball in her and running towards it and hitting it head on the nose once again as the pokeball lit and the flash of light absorbed the bird and captured it. "hah! that'll show em." she said with a mischievious grin on her face as she turned back over to stormy "Oh! I've been alright ya know, the usual...hiding at home or in silph co working away.." she said as Yui had been a shut away until recently, only really coming out when Fernando or someone else needed her somewhere. But after working through some personal stuff since the blacephelon attack she had begun to move around more. However her fear of fire was still unhandled but she'd get to that later as she began to mutter. Quietly to stormy "I got my first gym badge.."

As it turns out, the Purugly had not been chasing the Toucannon, but rather the tiny, puffed up little Pidove hiding in one of the lower branches. It had found and sought out the bigger birds help in escaping certain death between the paws of a fat cat with too-sharp claws. [break][break]

So when Yui goes after the Toucannon, the Pidove startles out of the branches with a great squeal, beelining it for Stormy and the Aipom's pokeball. It bursts open, revealing the grabby-handed little monkey, and the Pokemon's grabby-hand tail snatches the Pidove and squeezes. The poor birds eyes bug out and Stormy gasps in horror.[break][break]

"Oh my God, dude, let go!"[break][break]

It does, eventually, and the Pidove gasps and wheezes, beak agape to catch its breath. When Stormy reaches down to pick it up, it doesn't have the strength to object. Instead, she just tucks it against her chest and strokes its feathers back into place, before tossing the Aipom's pokeball at Yui.[break][break]

"Here, the Aipom is yours if you want him. Seems right up your alley."[break][break]

Yui looked at stormy and squinted as she accepted the aipom's pokeball. "Sure" she said as she pondered what to even ask stormy, it had been a while since they spoke so she decided to give her a simple question "How are you doing stormy? What's new with you?" she said curiously. She always worried about her other siblings and sometimes felt like a ghost when she was locked away in her room, unable to interact with the world. Maybe reaching out to her sister for support would make her realize she can interact with the world? Immediately after, an indeedee came up running up to the pair, being chased by a girafarig while playing. Yui saw the indeedee and saw how adorable it was so she lobbed a pokeball at it to try and capture it.

Stormy breathes a small sigh as the atmosphere relaxes a bit. It seemed that the area was chock full of excitable wild Pokemon, all of whom were inclined to interrupt and intrude on their conversation. Not that they were really having much of one, to be honest.[break][break]

The woman glances at the blonde briefly, however, as the quiet is immediately ruined by hooves pounding against the ground. But the Girafarig blows past them and continues on its way, thankfully. Yui seems to have stopped to capture an Indeedee, however, and Stormy waits until that is resolved to respond.[break][break]

Stormy's attention is quickly compromised when a Meowth who's dropped all of his marbles rounds the bend. Apparently, the gigantic sac of stolen(presumably) coins and pokedollars and other shiny items had been spilled. The feline desperately attempts to collect them all back into his bag, but the tear in it is too big and he just continues dropping everything.[break][break]

The Meowth is so focused on not losing his life's fortune that Stormy is able to approach it and put it to sleep with her Bulbasaur's sleep powder. She had dropped the baby dinosaur next to the Meowth without being seen, somehow. Goes to show what greed does to a person.[break][break]

With an empty pokeball, she snatches up the wild cat before turning back to Yui.[break][break]

"Uhhhh, I beat that Billi marsh guy and got his badge...first one out of all my challenges." she said as she stared at her sister...did...did she not hear that? "Are...are you paying attention stormy?" she asked with a bit of a more annoyed tone. It was typical of her to do this to her, pretending she was listening when in reality her mind wandered elsewhere instead. She painted her face with a giant pout and grew frustrated with the woman. "Really stormy?!" she shouted at her, scaring off the deer pokemon nearby but not before Yui pulled out a pokeball and took a pitcher stance as she threw it it and hit the stanler square on the head.
