Yui had decided to go pay respects for the new year at a shrine near the route she typically hung around. On route 120 yui had recently begun to visit a lot of the time and would usually walk by a smaller shrine that was often deserted and not really taken care of. The poor deity there must be so lonely not having a lot of people visit it...maybe..[break] [break]

Yui decided it would be a good way to start off the new year by helping a shrine deity's year be a bit better by her coming to pray to the spirit that resided there. Yui showed up in a traditional kimono and a small purse containing her Pokémon inside and a few of her items she usually carried on her. She fixed her hair as she arrived but the usual serene quietness of the shrine is replaced with the sound of a couple of kids who were screaming and shouting. How RUDE! Shrines are meant to be sacred! what were they doing here?! She stomped over to them and shouted at the kids "What are you kids doing?! this is a shrine! you're disrespecting the shrine and it's spirit!" she said as one of the kids got freaked out and accidently dropped the lighter for the fireworks they were going to light, sending it straight into the forest surrounding them.

[break][break]The kids had attempted something called a giant fireworks fiesta or something and the entire thing went up engulfing the shrine and transforming it into a hellish scape. Yui was then paralyzed with fear as she rememebred the events of the blacepheon attacking slateport as if it was yesterday.

Razz still wasn't a big fan of these festivities. However with him on a forced vacation he had to fill the time somehow. So while he himself might not care for these sort of things personally, his more sociable pokemon would. With the festivities near the shine, the large portion of fireworks going off at once didn't go unnoticed from the bottom of the hill. [break][break]

They all went off, from down below Razz could see many pokemon evacuating the area. At first he figured it was because the sudden noise, but the red orange glow, and smoke now coming made it clear that things had caught fire. Shit shit shit. He thought to himself feeling frozen in place for a moment, not only from fear but the fact that he was on a forced leave. He shouldn't be doing actions like this right? He should let another take care of it? Or was this just him making an excuse for himself so he didn't have to deal with the fire? [break][break]

He could see people panicking as the ran from the shrine, and wondering where someone in charge was to help. Razz just gritted his teeth in annoyance. Damn it all, he yelled at himself before he begun to run up the stairs while everyone else was running away. Being an islander now he had plenty of water pokemon, but with the shrine being so fragile he needed to think carefully how he did this. [break][break]

First up was his Sobble as he ordered for the lizard to use RAIN DANCE. Lapis shooting something into the air as it started raining in the area. Though it seems the fire was still burning strong that the rain wasn't going to be enough. Razz could only hope that with the Poliwrath DAMPING the air it would aide it. Razz didn't have time to think of what to do next as he could see someone in the shrine apparently frozen. "Soak!" he is quick to order as the sobble wets the bruised face ranger as he runs into the fire as he orders Salem to grab one of his other water pokemon to continue helping. [break][break]

Once he reaches the girl inside he reaches out a wet hand to her, "Are you alright? Can you get up?" he asked hoping that his own fear wasn't coming across. He probably could have done this 100 better ways, but his own panic made things difficult enough.

Yui was holding one of the children who couldn't get away, trying to shield him from the fire as her own body trembled from the fear of the fire. She was having an episode as all the loud noises and the fire reminded her of that ultra beast's attack on slateport. However, she suddenly saw a hand in front of her asking if she was ok. She looked up teary eyed at the man who was wearing a half mask over his face, she stuttered a bit as she gasped for air between words. "P-Please stop the F-FIre p-please." she said as she continued to panic, she wasnt thinking rationally at the moment and only instinctively grabbed onto the hand extended towards her. She stood up slowly as she looked around trying to find an escape route with razz. The rain dance and dampening did however begin to work on the fire slightly, it managed to stop it from spreading but from within more would have to be done to stop the inferno from blazing. Yui would certainly be able to help but at the moment the girl was completely out of it and needed to be brought back to reality.

Great so there wasn't just one but two. [break][break]

The fire and heat around him made him think back to that day. A day which for some reason has been haunting him much more recently for some reason. His trauma seeming to add a 'stop' to the typical flight or fight response. However as he could see the tears in the young girl's eyes and the fact that there was a child, the Ranger knew that he needed to step up. There wasn't anyone else here and he couldn't afford to make this a 3 victim situation. As he grabbed her hand and helped her up the Ranger put on a brave face. He could recall in his training that those they were helping could sense their own fear. So Razz just put on a brave face and smiled, "Don't worry we'll take care of this," he reassured, even though his own voice may have seemed shaky.[break][break]

With that spoken Razz was quick to bring out his Oshawott the ranger whistles. The otter then used WATER SPORT to not only wet the shrine with a nondamaging water move, but to also went the three people. Razz moves to pick up the child in one arm as he makes sure to continuously hold the blond one's hand, "Just follow me and we'll be alright" he assures once more as he starts to lead them out. Oshawott soaking things inside to ensure no fire came near them.

Yui heard the shakeyness in his own voice, was he scared too? Why was he helping her then..? Yui felt a bit of shame in herself, here she was, a Silph needing to be rescued. What would Fernando say? What would everyone say if they knew? Wait didn't She know this guy? "Y-you were at the dinner?" she said as she paused for a moment recognizing his face. Would he tell Fernando? She couldn't act pathetic around this guy. She clenched her fist as her purse stopped it from piercing the skin on her hand.

[break][break] "I-im sorry." she said as she followed him closely She also held the child's hand as the ranger lead them both to safety. She wanted to help, but she couldn't bring herself to do much of anything as fear stopped her, she was weak, she was always reminded of that.

Razz is careful as they go along, for while it was best to get out of the fire as quickly as possible. Not only for their health so they weren't breathing in too much smoke, but for their sanity. He wasn't sure just how fire effected her she was definitely scared. He is confused for a moment when she mentions the dinner. Honestly he was so focused and finally making it out with Zaffre and just getting them out that he didn't recognize her until now. Right one of the Silph siblings, Yuie if he recalls that day correctly. "Yes," he answers shortly as he was still watching their step not sure just how well the structure held after the fire. [break][break]

Once at the entrance of the shrine Razz whistles for Salem, the blue Meowstic quick to react as he would use PYCHIC to grab both the child and the Yuie and bring them close and out of the fire. Razz jogging right after to see what has been going on. Seems like with the use of both SOAK and MUD SHOT both his water types out here made a safe area from the fire to which Salem would put them there. The Rain Dance was doing it's job at keeping it from getting worse. [break][break]

"Do what you can until back up comes," Razz orders Zaddre who salutes and goes to aide Lapis. Razz coughs as he tries to get the smoke out of his lungs after being in there long enough as he turns to Yuie and the child again. He was about to say something but he's interrupted by her apology. Again he coughs but he shakes his head at her, "No worries, it's not like this is your fault Ms Silph, are you two alright? No injures?" he as he tries to look them over for any possible burns.

Yui suddenly felt rather...light? A meowstic had been lifting her and the child with Psychic to quickly usher them out of the fire and get them out of harms way. She looked over to the shrine praying that it would be alright, she'd hate to be part of the reason it was lost to the
She simply nodded in reply to Razz's question, Miss Silph stung her a bit. A Silph wasn't meant to be weak, she was the loser out of the bunch of siblings she had. Only reason she was ever even chosen was for her coding skills, she wondered if her foster parents looked down on her now with pity in their eyes. Now that they were out of the fire Yui calmed down a bit, able to form coherent sentences and not stutter. "Yes..im fine.." she said as she sat on the floor with her knees to her chest, only able to watch helplessly as the fire raged on and Pokémon fled the forest nearby. "What was your name? I'm afraid I didn't really get to talk to you at the dinner...thank you for saving me." She said as she was dejected, the fire began to slowly die down from Razz's efforts until it eventually died from the rain dance and several moves.

A huge sigh of relief escaped him as the fire was finally gone. Though despite it, it was still only the 2nd most stressful situation he's been in the past what week now? Honestly at this rate he was going to die early. For now he squatted down as he took deep breaths as he tried to vent his stress from the ordeal. "Razz Kingsman, nice to meet you again, too bad not under better circumstances," he coughs a bit more, apparently having taken in more smoke than he thought. [break][break]

Though it seems like their time alone didn't last very long as the cavalry arrives much too late. As the rain from Rain Dance starts to let up there is a small group of workers with a squad of Wartortle. Ohh.... oh no this would only bring attention he couldn't stand. [break][break]

As their leader comes over to ask what happen Razz uses his second language of lying to save the day, as he puts on an amazed smile, "It was Miss Silph here, you should have seen it!" the Ranger exclaims as he gets up and shows them his Ranger Badge, "I just arrived not long ago to try and help with my Poliwrath when I see Miss Silph come out of the Shrine saving this young man with her Oshawott and Sobble by her." Razz looks to her, "Using Rain Dance was a good call, thank you for that," he smiles down at her. To go along with his story both his Oshawott and Sobble played along as they came by her side and smile up at their 'trainer' as if they were asking her if they did well. [break][break]

'Ranger saves a Silph Sibling' defiantly didn't sound as good as 'Silph saves both child and shine.' So hopefully if her lying was done well enough they could both help each other.

Yui was kinda stunned when she heard the words coming out of Razz's mouth. She was going to interrupt and correct him before stopping herself, he probably had a reason to say all of that...why? She rolled with it for now, she was probably going to kill him later since now she was going to have to lie to her siblings as well and say she did this thing. It was a SUPER out of character thing and they all knew of her fear of fire "Y-YEAH! MY SOBBLE AND MY OSHAWATT!!" she said freaking out slightly at the people who came to see it. She really hoped this story didn't see the light of day since her siblings knew all of her Pokémon. She went over to the reporters "Look just do me a favor and dont publish this story please." she said "I'll give you some extra PD to bribe you. These kids would be in a LOT of legal trouble if you wrote this story, you wouldn't wanna give their family a big problem would you?" she said squinting at him with shifty eyes before hitting him in the metaphorical gut. "I mean i'd HATE for Silph co to have to shun the reporter who not only released a story against my own wishes but that of Fernando'sand the family's." she said sighing out loud and putting her hands outwards as she turned.
