With a smug smile, she barks back as soon as the challenger retrieves the vivillon and summons the porygon-z into the courtyard. Sceptile, however, sure is already exhausted from the match. Despite a triumphant victory for him, the battle proves to be difficult as the butterfly had all the advantage. Panting, and with a few minutes left before passing out, Ascalabus exchanges a reassuring gaze at his trainer, knowing he'll push through despite the odds stacked against him.

When the robotic creature begins with a tri attack, Selena knows it spells out doom. She looks at her pokemon, and she knows the only way to go is to outspeed the creature while giving all of their best.

The beam of the triple attack is projected at the sceptile. Rather than trying to move and dodge the attack, it stays in its position but spreads out its arm.

“Siphon its energy!”

The bladed leaves from its hands begins to send out small, green orbs of energy into the creature, as a powered (OVERGROW) GIGA DRAIN attempts to drain it out in favor of extending the sceptile's time at the arena.

SCEPTILE uses GIGA DRAIN powered by OVERGROW.
SCEPTILE is hit by TRI ATTACK (powered by ADAPTABILITY). It deals heavy damage.

a giga-drain huh? Yui took advantage of this by having it not move during the attack and decided to fire it once again "Codey! Tri attack it again while it's giga draining! It cant move while it's attacking with that move!" she said dishing out her orders once more. Porygonz let out a powerful shout as it tanked the giga-drain, trusting Yui's plan and tri attacked the Pokémon while it tried to leech off of porygonz's health. [break][break] However it's eyes furrowed during the attack as it gathered the three orbs of energy again in front of it's body and combined them together into a charge, hitting sceptile with fire electric and ice energy once more and fired a tri attack that was boosted by it's adaptibility.

Contrary to what Yui is expecting, despite the odds stacked against the sceptile, he predicts how the triple beam of the porygon-z will go just like how Yui's vivillon from the previous match manages to evade his attack.

Cutting the attack with just enough siphoned health, it slides back down, arms crossed one another as the bladed leaves jutting out from his limbs positioned, aiming at the metallic bird. Ascalabus lunges with BREAKING SWIPE.

“I thought you already know not to do the same move after the other?” Selena winks with a smug grin.

SCEPTILE evades TRI ATTACK.
SCEPTILE uses BREAKING SWIPE (it will lower the attack upon hitting).

Yui smirked "You're right, im just learning from my senior's recent move." She said as she waited for Sceptile's leap. "CODEY NOW USE HYPER BEAM! WHILE HE'S IN THE AIR!" she said as she waited for Sceptile's feet to leave the floor, if he was in the air he couldn't redirect his movement in mid air. She also didn't have time for her Porygonz to use lock on because she was sure that Sceptile would take advantage of that. She took a note out of Selena's book and decided to counter when Sceptile got in close just like when vivillion went in for a desperate draining kiss. It was obvious that these two girls were learning off one another. "Seems like we're both learning huh?" Yui just hoped her gamble would pay off, Hyper beam was an extremely powerful move, even more so with porygonz's adaptibility but at the cost of Codey having to spend time recovering afterwards.

Upon hitting with his bladed arms, Ascalabus glares at the hyper beam that is directed towards him. Figuring the pokemon has no move to counter and evade such attack, he blocks the impact with his limbs to minimize the damage. Afterwards, the sceptile drops on the ground feet first, but the exhaustion and hurt is pretty much visible with his gait. Selena retrieves him.

“Yeah, and that's what I want for my challengers to realize after conquering my gym.”

The gym leader hurls in another pokeball into the arena.

An escavalier.

“It's Lancelot's first attempt with gym battle. But don't underestimate him: I know, for one, that he can be aggressive if he wants to.”

The bottom shell from its armor begins to emit a light blue glow, RAZOR SHELL being lunged at the porygon-z.

SCEPTILE is hit HYPER BEAM. Sceptile faints.
Selena calls ESCAVALIER.
ESCAVALIER uses RAZOR SHELL (roll 1-50 to lower defense).

Yui breathed a sigh of relief when Sceptile finally went down. She had one only the first half of the battle, porygonz was looking rough and tired but she had faith in him. She needed to give him time to recover from using hyper beam. That's when Selena sent out an escavalier, Yui sized the pokemon up. Escavalier type wise had a huge advantage in just typing. She began to feel a discourage, but it wasn't enough to stop her from at least trying. She felt the same way with Billi Marsh's fight but then it turned into a surprise win when her swablu evolved into alteria! She however could only sit and watch as her pokemon got attacked by the pokemon. "Porygon hang in there!" she said as she could only wait for it to recharge. [break][break]

Porygonz then let out a shout to let Yui know he was ready to fight again now that he had a chance to rest. "Ok! Codey use Zap cannon on escavalier!" She said as porygon began to gather electricity in front of itself and fired a ball of electricity right at escavalier.

With the shell's impact lowering the porygon-z's defenses, the stage is set for Lancelot to conquer this match.

“Block it!”

Selena shouts towards her escavalier, who attempts to block the zap cannon by crossing his lances. Wave of electrity surges but the impact of the attack is not received by its body but by the white orb of energy it produces.

“Now, go retaliate!”

Lancelot returns the attack, the electrified METAL BURST causing an explosion which smoke the escavalier uses as a cover to pound with a BRUTAL SWING.

ESCAVALIER evades ZAP CANNON with METAL BURST.

The zap cannon hit it's mark but seemingly didn't hit escavilier very hard. It used had used metal burst to block it? Crap, Yui coudn't mimic that same type of thinking because Porygonz was meant to be artillery fire for her team. "codey try and dodge!" But it was too fast for porygon'z the brutal swing connects with Codey and sends it flying back quite a distance. This thing was fast and could hit hard..she had to try and close the gap between them "Ok Codey we're gonna try something new!" she called out as Codey started to look beat up, it had taken a lot of damage so yui had to hope this final gambit would work. "Ok porygon! Agility around escavalier!" as porygon began to vanish and then reappear in other places quickly around escavalier. "Now fire!" she said as the lingering smoke began to glow and fired three various orb colors from the smoke.

When Yui decides to close the porygon-z and the escavalier's distance, Selena has a lopsided grin that indicates what she has been wanting for so long. While Lancelot doesn't have much tricks up his guard, the steel bug-type is a deadly sweeper by his reputation alone.

“Throw it back at him!”

This time, when the TRI ATTACK happens with a light speed velocity, the gym leader's pokemon summons the METAL BURST and receives the attack. However, it only made the energy ball shine brighter. Once Lancelot deems the attack is ready, he hurls it towards his target.

ESCAVALIER is hit by TRI ATTACK. It deals great damage.
ESCAVALIER uses METAL BURST (powered by 1.5X the opponent's TRI ATTACK; powered by PORYGON-Z's lowered DEF).

Yui surely didn't expect this to happen. Selena called out for a metal burst on the tri attack, Wait? what? metal burst again!? Yui thought that Selena wasn't going to use the same move again, she just learned that it wouldn't work! Or maybe that's why she did it? Yui let her guard down the 2nd time around and now she was going to pay the price for it. "CODEY!" she shouted as the attack found it's mark and slammed into porygon. This time sending it into the wall and cracking the wall a bit. Porygonz didn't recover this time however and collapsed to the floor... "No way.." she said as she her knees fell to the floor. Another loss, damn it.. she recalled her porygonz and waited for Selena to call the loss out loud so she could sulk in her loss. Damn it, first fernando and now this? Was she really such a bad trainer?
