Night had just fallen for Littleroot town, many civilians of the town prepared had just finished with their daily tasks, and were preparing to turn the lights off. The town was completely oblivious to any coming danger that had been coming. Within the outskirts of town, a wild charizard had got into a scuffle with a Houndoom. The two pokemon went on a rampage setting fire to their surrounding forest, completely unaware of the burning smoke that had surrounded them, nor did the two care. As the fire spread, wild pokemon that lived in the forest panic and began to flee. Town people also spotted out the large amount of smoke that came from the forest, panic was rising as distant screams were heard and cries of confusion engulfed the small town.

Perhaps it was lucky that Chloe had been staying in the town, just to rest up for a few days before taking up her normal ranger tasks. Upon hearing the chaotic sounds she quickly ran from the house she has been resting at, only to be met with a blaze of flames and eerie smoke that began to inch closer to the town. "Holly crap, this is bad." She said in a shock, attempting to calm down, she quickly threw out two pokeballs, a shellos and vaporeon emerging from them. "We need to stop this fire!" The ranger called out, entrusting that they would know what to do. She headed towards civilians aiding them in evacuation while encouraging them to keep calm. "Please come this way! Don't worry more help is on the way! Stay Calm" She said in a reassuring firm tone.

Although Chloe was worried, she wasn't aware of any other rangers that had been stationed here and was unable to determine the cause of the huge fire. She took a glance towards her pokemon who were working hard to put out the flames that were reaching town. At this point, Chloe didn't care came, she desperately needed help.

It has been awhile since Razz has been allowed to work. After his injuries he’s been on a forced vacation and it was getting him ancy. Though now he was here in Littleroot on a job. Most of the day was simple enough, it was a bit odd trying to get back in the groove of things but he was happy. [break][break]

Well that was until the smoke…[break][break]

A fire would happen on the day he was allowed back to work, and honestly he rather just let someone who wasn’t triggered by fire to take care of it. However with panic yells not far off and it being as late as it was who knew who’d hear the call to action. [break][break]

Returning his Corviknight Razz ran toward the fire as he called on two of his pokemon to start things off. Poliwrath gives out a cry as he seems to let off a mist in the air to DAMPEN the area. Then with a whistle the young Ranger calls for Lapis to use RAIN DANCE, storm clouds are created and it begins to pour. With the way the fire has spread it was clear that this wasn’t going to be enough. [break][break]

Though at least he wasn’t alone in this as another young woman was also using her water pokemon to help douse the fire. “Do you know if there are any civilians inside? Or it’s cause?” Razz is quick to ask, hoping to see if she knew anymore about it as he’d just arrived.

Chloe took a few steps back as the flames continued to rise. Her fist clenched in frustration, but she was determined to stop the fire, if it kept going who knows what kind of damage it would cause to the small town. Gritting her teeth as the embers of flames continued to blaze about, she pointed at the flames instructing Lilly to use Hydropump "Atta Girl!" She gave the vaporeon a quick praise, before glancing around the town. From what she could see most towns people were quick on their feet to escape, it didn't seem like helping them would be a worry. Which made the ranger feel some what relieved.

She even noticed that some towns people had been attempting to save their town, using their own water pokemon to stop the flames from advancing. It was a good sight to see, after all she couldn't stop the fire all by herself. The distant shout of another person caused Chloe to glance over, noticing a man who had headed towards her. From the looks of it, he was also a ranger and came over to help.

"Sir, I believe most civilians escaped." She responded in a quick manner, although she hadn't been to sure. In chaos like this, there was potential for someone to still be trapped inside a burning home. But Chloe didn't want to think of it as a possibility, she had hope that everyone had been evacuated and safe. "As for the cause.. I'm not to certain, Sir!" Chloe assumed that Razz had superiority over her, hence the reason she was responding in a polite manner. "If I am allowed to guess, I believe the cause may be a forest fire out of control, sir." The ranger added, looking towards the forest which had been steadily burning away.

Chloe wasn't certain if the forest fire was naturally caused, it seemed rather big and advanced far to quickly. Her thinking was that two pokemon had been the cause, but since she wasn't confident enough to say she kept the thought to herself.

Oh god no, he was just off suspension and far from being anyone’s superior. However right now with the stress of the fire looming over he didn’t bother correct her. Though it seems that Rain dance wasn’t enough, and while a few people have started using their own water types it didn’t seem to be enough. Calling out his ditto, Prism was quick to transform into his Sobble as Razz ordered another RAIN DANCE in hopes that the combo of the two would bring the rain down harder, power up the water moves being used to dose the flames. And for awhile it seemed to be working until an uproar of flames came from the forest. [break][break]

”This isn’t natural,” Razz comments in anger, leave it to god damn fire types to go out of control. Okay maybe he was being harsh there but his emotions were all over the place with the fire being so close. ”You saw that right? I don’t know what’s in there but this fire isn’t going to stop unless we take care of the cause,” he comments before he looks to his fellow Ranger the young man doing his best to keep up a brave face as he did not want to go in there, but someone had to. [break][break]

“You don’t have to join me, but your assistance would be appreciated,” he informs before he would have both his Ditto and Sobble use SOAK on himself, Salem and the other Ranger should she choose to join him before going in to take care of the cause.

The ranger was beginning to get worried. The flames continued their destruction, and if anything it seemed to be getting worse. Having a glance around, Chloe noticed that many people had fallen back due to the fires advancement though they showed little sign of giving up. Chloe felt ashamed for having such idiotic thoughts, giving herself a quick whack against her forehead. She ordered Gummy to do a Raindance watching on ass the water fought against the flames. She wasn't certain on what she could do, her water pokemon to begin with weren't very strong. Once again bad thoughts started seeping into her mind, and fear began to creep in. Maybe it would be best for her to try and contact more rangers? Her resolve began to falter and she took a few steps back.

'You call yourself a ranger?'

Chloe once again, wacked herself in the forehead. She was pathetic. Her attention then went towards back to the towering flames, her pokemon had briefly stopped due to the exhaustion of pumping out moves. "Don't let up! Continue!" She called out fiercely to Gummy and Lilly. Her attention went over towards the other Ranger. A little shocked at what he said, "huh not natural, what do you mean sir?" She felt her anxiety rise as she heard the distant roars of a pokemon. She watched on in confusion as she saw Razz walk towards the forest, which flames were a lot more fierce. Her heart skipped a beat, she felt uncertainty but also she felt awe. The way the other ranger marched towards danger left a strong impression on Chloe. She wondered if one day she could be like him.

She felt that she had to help him, in anyway possible. She quickly raced after him, Lilly following suit. She instructed Gummy to help out the town. "S-Sir! I'm Right behind you!" The anxiety could be heard in the rangers voice, but she went along with him. As they walked towards the forest, Chloe spotted out a fountain. It was the perfect place to station moon for now. Briefly releasing a pokeball, a Chinchou had appeared and splashed into the fountain. Moon didn't need orders to know what to do, as she rapidly began to spray at the flames with water gun. "I'm counting on you!" The ranger called out.

Razz was fucking terrified to put it lightly. The flames caused him a crazy amount of panic and the memories were still so fresh, but even he noticed the disappearing crowd and the fire department was still on it's way. Honestly his panic made it hard to even answer her question but the roaring from within the forest hopefully answered her question and confirmed his theory. Fuck his life right now. [break][break]

With Soak over he did go in, with Salem on his back Razz had the comfort of his being there to keep him calm enough to push through for this job. "Thank you," he simply calls out as he tells Lapis he's in charge while Prism comes with him. The ditto as they traveled in Prism used SOAK around them combined with @chole's pokemon Water Gun. [break][break]

Following the roars the two rangers would finally find the source of the fire, and Razz couldn't be more pissed. Whether it be because he was misplacing his anger, or he was just a ranger doing his job the young man brought out a new pokeball. "Take care of the dog, I'll get the overgrown lizard, but first" he growls out before having Prism use TEARFUL LOOK in order to gather their attention, and lower their attack power.[break][break]

After he calls out his Milotic, before having his Ditto transform once more to copy him. "Double up the surf power!" he orders as the sea serpent and his copy both used SURF at their opponents to not only hurt and injure them, but for the excess water to help fight the dense flames in the middle of the forest. He knows while super effective it was going to take a bit more to subdue them completely.

Chloe found it difficult to keep up with Razz through the flame and smoke. She attempted to cover up her mouth with the sleeve of her ranger's protective jacket but it didn't provide much help since it wasn't really made to deal with such levels of flames. In fact Chloe lost sight of Razz more then a few times, but she still had a rough idea where to go. It was to just follow the roars of the rampaging pokemon. The smoke had burned her eyes, and her throat hurt immensely, but she endured the pain. She knew that she had to for the sake of the town and the people.

Finally she managed to catch up with Razz, and when she caught a look of their surroundings. She was lost for words. The two pokemon did not seem to care one bit as the forest slowly burned before them. She also felt angry, wondering what drove the two of them to this extent. Chloe attempted to calm herself down, getting angry here wouldn't solve anything. Nodding to Razz's instruction she sent forth Vaporeon who had locked eyes with the fierce houndoom. "Right Lilly, Let's put this guy in his place. Start off with a haze then a hydro pump!" Chloe called out with little hesitation. Lilly followed the order and executed it perfectly. The houndoom howled in pain, but it didn't look like it was one to go down so easily.

Chloe took a brief glance towards Razz, concerned about him. From her judgement the charziard was overpowering the houndoom before they arrived. She knew that she had to quickly defeat the houndoom and head over to help the other ranger out.

Despite the water attacks helping douse a few flames it was getting harder and harder to ignore the smoke getting into his lungs. Something that he has been ignoring for a bit, whether it be through his sheer hate of being in the fire, or his bridle focus on trying to take out the problem. Either way it was getting in his lungs now and there was only so much soaking the water did to help but the scorching fire. Razz’s body was shaking as he was once again being forced to confront his fears and the smoke was making it hard to breath, let alone adding his anxiety to the mix. [break][break]

The charizard seemed none too pleased about having their fight interrupted as it roared at them. Fear gripping onto him that much harder, the way this charizard was even seemed to make his Milotic and Ditto nervous. Be it bad judgement or just pure anger a lesson needed to be given. “Both of you just take care of the forest!” Razz orders the twin serpents, allowing them to leave and aid the fire as the Ranger reveals a new pokeball. [break][break]

With a toss Razz reveals a Kingler, one with black claws rather than the standard red, surely this was the language this bastard understood. “No mercy!” he coughs out as the Shadow Kingler goes on it’s violent rampage. Striking with a combination of CRABHAMMER and BUBBLEBEAM that rivaled, if not surpassed this Charizard’s violence. It was only after the Chaizard was fainted and the Kingler seemed to want to go further did Razz return them. [break][break]

Satisfied with the results he checks on his pokemon to ensure they were doing their job before looking to the other Ranger, “How are things going?”

Finding that the Houndoom seemed to have been weakened with its earlier battle, Chloe managed to knock out the pokemon from one final Hydro Pump.Chloe hoped that it meant that the Charziard had been in a weakened state as well. It wouldn't be good news for the two of them if they lingered in these flames for any longer. She took a glance towards Razz's direction, and was relieved to see that the charizard had also been taken care of. She also spotted out the two Milotics who had been working hard to take care of the forest fire. It was a good call, and she felt that she should also follow suit.

"Right Lilly, lets get rid of this fire." Lilly let out a determined cry as she continued to spray at burning trees with a fury of Hydro pumps. "I'm good over here, just trying to reduce these flames Sir!" Chloe responded to Razz, covering her mouth from the smoke as she let out a cough.

Amongst the confusion the once rampaging Houndoom had awoken from its defeat. After a look around it's surrounding's it let out a fearful cry, it turned the opposite direction from the charziard and ran off in defeat. Chloe didn't expect the Houndoom to get up so quickly, to her surprise it ended up fleeing. She felt that even the houndoom found the fire to be out of control, and not the way it intended. Either way she was relieved, having to been worried about the two fighting again when they woke up.

With the combined forces of Razz and Chloe, they managed to defeat the rampaging pokemon and from the looks of things - their pokemon were able to reduce the flames. She hoped that things back in town were okay. "What now sir?" She asked in a raspy voice. Being unsure if he wanted to stay and try to fight the fire or head back towards the town. Chloe hoped that Razz wouldn't mind her incompetence

With the combination of the RAIN DANCES, the people and rangers working together on the edges of the forest, and finally with his pokemon using SURF to handle the fires that were more directly caused by the two fiery pokemon everything was calming down. Razz wished he could say the same about his nerves. [break][break]

Thankfully as he checks in with the other the Houndoom seemed to learn it’s lesson and ran off, not that the condition his Kingler left Charizard in could do the same. He coughs again at her report and again it hits him. Oh right he hasn’t corrected her yet! “Not a sir, I’m just a rookie here,” he said, pointing to the patch on his jacket that showed off his rank, though it's not like he hasn’t been offered a promotion before. “Sorry about taking charge like that, literal heat of the moment,” comments as he takes out a special green pokeball as he goes to capture the fallen Charizard, showing no pity for what the crab did to it. “Though based on procedure we should contact the captain here in Littleroot, and turn this Charizard in, thank you for your help, miss….” he trails off hoping for a name.

What a crazy night. Chloe was just relieved that the main problem seemed to have been taken care of, all that was left to do was handle the remnants of the small flames that still remained. As she took a glance around she realized that her and Razz were not the only ones here. Now there were plenty of other citizens helping out along with their water pokemon. Looks like the night was finally going to be over, with a sigh Chloe had sat on the ground she was exhausted. Combing nerves with adrenaline was never a good thing.

She side glanced back at Razz with a smile, without him this fire would probably would of gotten worse. Just as she was about to thank him, she was interrupted by him correcting her. Chloe had been surprised that someone with great leadership skills was just a rookie, she felt that he deserved a lot better and more recognition for his talents. She bowed her head, apologizing for her mistake. Her brown eyes looking over towards the badge he had pointed at, it was true he was indeed a rookie. "Oh I'm sorry you just seemed to be so experienced! I assumed that you were a sergeant or around there..!" Chloe spoke in a ramble, getting a little flustered. She got back onto her feet and shook her head when he apologized. She was grateful for the leadership he displayed, without that she wouldn't have mustered enough courage to follow after him. "Please don't say sorry! without your guidance the fire would have been a lot worse." Chloe had felt slightly guilty, she hoped that Razz didn't feel pressured into taking command. "I'm sorry that I didn't provide more help.. I am also still new..." She spoke with a small laugh and adverted eye contact with Razz.

Glancing back and looking at the pokeball the other ranger picked up Chloe nodded in agreement. "Yeah, good thinking!" She had never thought about doing that, honestly she didn't know what procedures would occur after something like this. Her eyes widened as his words trailed on, "Chloe! Chloe Porter!" Her tone still held a formality in them, though she didn't call him sir. Extending her hand which had been significantly burned, Chloe herself didn't notice her injuries due to her still running on adrenaline. "It is a pleasure to meet you! Thanks for your help!"

Again the young ranger tried to cough out the smoke in his lungs as he tried to calm himself down. For a bit just focusing on Salem who was on him and his loud purring to try and get over the whole he was in a god damn fire thing. Though he is amused at the idea of being a sergeant and he just shakes his head. “Thanks, I have been offered the position of Elite before but I can’t help but feel it’s just too early for that,” he comments as he moves to collect his pokemon. Though honestly he feels like it was the Poison War that helped him learn to act fast. [break][break]

“You’re fine, some situations are hard, but hey you actually joined me in the center where it all happened,” the young Ranger gestures around them, “Something that no civilian here would be willing to do so give yourself some credit,” he offers a weak smile as this whole thing made him tired. [break][break]

“Razz Kingsman,” he gives his name with a nod he looks uncomfortable as she offers her hand to shake. Why did everyone like hand shakes? He grumbles but he does notice the unmistakable burn, “You should have that looked at Porter,” he points to her injured hand. Clearly he was quite the people person. With that he does go for his phone to make a call to the Captains of Littleroot and ask for them to bring some healing pokemon for those injured trying to help.
