Instead, he simply nods and goes over to the other man. This was the one he choked to death, he thinks absently, as he searches the other's pockets.

Upon closer inspection, it seems to be a platinum membership to a local masseuse parlor, Lopunny Delight. A pause, and then Jayden asks, "Have you been to this place before?"

[break][break] At Gavin's other question, the boy inclines his head. Had they said anything? All he remembered was the two approaching him, hunched shoulders, and a threatening, predatory gait. One of them had smiled at him, had lunged for his face -

[break][break] "They called me little Volkov," he says, his voice soft. "They knew who I was."

[break][break] Not all Rockets knew of his formal name, though he was sure that Gavin wasn't one of them. He certainly had the resources to figure out the connection between his father's official Wyndon Cross laboratories, and the Team Rocket-sanctioned ones.

Accepting the card from Jayden, Gavin glances at it and makes a face at the logo — a line-art rendition of a sexy Lopunny. Disgusting. His head snaps up at the question.

"Do I look like someone who'd go to a 'massage' parlor?" His reputation among Rocket was mysterious in certain areas, but not that kind of mysterious. Besides, he had Emma Wolfe. "Fuck, no, I haven't been there."

But he will go, because leads need to be followed. Especially since these thugs had called Jayden by name. Volkov, not jayden cross. That was a problem. Pocketing the membership card and the men's wallets, Gavin jerks his head toward the door.

"We have to go. Kurata's dead—" He'd almost forgot to tell Jayden, "so we've got time before they're discovered."

[break][break] Since it is not, however, Jayden simply just blinks in confusion at the disdain that is written all over his mentor's face. "Oh," Jayden says, perplexed. "... What are they supposed to look like?" From Jayden's understanding of the term, masseuse parlors are places where people are meant to go to relax their muscles. And since Gavin, to his knowledge, had a very high profile, high ranking job within the organization...

[break][break] Either way, Cillian Quinn makes it clear that no, he is not the type of individual to go to massage parlors. Privately, Jayden wonders what they might be like.

[break][break] In fact, Jayden doesn't have to wonder, because Gavin is standing up and telling them to go. It isn't, however, before Gavin drops the bomb. Or what is supposed to be a bomb.

[break][break] Kurata is dead.

[break][break] Jayden is unsurprised - there had been no suggestion about what Gavin had disappeared to do - and yet, there is a certain pang in his chest, not unlike the one he felt at attending his father's funeral. "Thank you," he murmurs quietly, though he is unsure exactly what he is thanking Gavin for. Is he thanking Gavin for being the one to deliver the hit? Or is he thanking Gavin for notifying him of the news?

[break][break] Either way, there is only a matter of time before the two are well on their way out of the warehouse's view. Waves splash against the seaside dock, violent and unrelenting.

Gavin pinches the bridge of his nose. Sweet Arceus. Of course jayden cross didn't know the difference. Rocket had forced him to grow up fast, but they hadn't taught him everything.

Feeling very much like a father whose kid has just asked what sex is, the older Rocket sighs. "This is a different kind of 'massage parlor', Jay." He stresses the words as if to add quotes. "There's sexual shit involved."

He doesn't elaborate further, because this was awkward enough.

"It's a front, basically. We'll look into it." He doesn't look thrilled at the prospect. By we, he certainly does not mean himself and Jayden. "Come on. Let's get out of here."
