[googlefont=Lato:300|Playfair+Display] [attr="class","hearmenand1"] [attr="class","hearmenand3"] [attr="class","hearmenand2"]Noelani was just as smooth with his words as he was with his mannerisms. So he was fluent in charm as well, that much was clear. It wasn't rocket science, besides, Serena liked to believed about 'on' in front of others. So of course she could recognize the skill in others. It only made her curious to what he was like when he was 'off' and comfortable around others.
Chuckling to himself he turned his attention to the blonde once more, “Just water is fine. Though maybe have one of your aids bring it because I swear, they might get a heart attack otherwise.” he said with an added wink. Serena couldn't help but laugh as she turned to glance at one of her team members as they moved to grab him a water with haste. "I suppose you're right." she said, her voice soft but the tone light and musical. "But don't let them make you think I don't do my fair share of work around here." She added with a playful glance at her team before chuckling and taking her seat.
Noelani also took his seat and was quickly brought a water and his own information document. As the rest of her team filed in to grab their snacks and take their place, Noelani turned to her once more. “I know we hit off fairly well after reaching out but I am curious though why me? Even with my limited connections I know some other options that probably would have bit. Was it a strategic thing or simply luck of the draw?” he asked.
Serena crossed her legs underneath the table and hummed while she tapped her cheek. She knew the answer but should so opt for flatter or just truth? "Honestly?" she asked with a slight twinkle in her eye, "I needed someone low-key. Since I'm an entertainer having someone more....casual would appeal more." She answered as she leaned forward a bit, resting her arms on the table. "The more popular you are the more controversy follows. If both partners have their own fandoms to navigate it's almost inevitable to avoid drama." she replied with a sigh, and Serena, had, had her full of drama.
"Besides, when looking through this area it was hard not to take notice of you. You're attractive after all and you fit the bill. All that was left was to see if we could, 'vibe'." Serena said with a bright smile. Deep down Serena felt weird about this whole thing. She couldn't deny the statistics, when an idol or entertainer got romantically involved the amount of attention received was always astronomical. At the current stage she was at, more attention meant her name would get spread around more, which was always a plus. If they played their cards correctly Serena could quickly take over the industry in a storm.
She wanted that for herself but they lying and the schemes? It felt disingenuous, because it was, but she couldn't help it. Serena was just not ready to be romantically involved again. Her previous relationship left her so broken and scarred that it took her a long time before she was able to 'find herself' again. But deep down she knew she still wasn't healed, not completely. How could she love someone else when she couldn't love herself?
So, here she was, hoping to make a partnership from this. And maybe sometime down the road she'd find someone that could treat her the way she deserved to be treated. But for now, she had to focus on her work. It was the only thing that managed to keep her sane. "I hope that answer was to your satisfaction," she said with a sheepish smile.
