They were not the only ones at sea that day, it seemed.

[break][break] It was not uncommon, but yet somehow still surprising at this time of day when most pokemon would be asleep, to see a Gastradon swimming through the waves not but a few miles away from where Ala floated along the shore. The Psyduck remained ignorant as he floated closer and closer towards it, unaware of the chaos that was about to ensue.

[break][break] Jayden, who was inspecting the rocks that he had gathered from below, had not noticed either, until it was nearly too late.

[break][break] The Gastradon, being the much bigger pokemon surface area wise, did not notice either as it floated peacefully along the waves and nearly crashed into the Psyduck. Luckily, Jayden's head flashed up and he quickly swam over to the Psyduck just in time, grabbing it's arm and pulling it to it's chest before it was nearly bowled over by the larger pokemon. The yellow duck gave a squeak of surprise as he was pressed against his trainer's chest, but otherwise broke no issue once, eyes growing wide with the realization as his head craned up to look up at the Gastradon.

[break][break] Luckily, the water pokemon was not violent and swam along it's way peacefully, leaving the remaining two in the wake of the sea.

[break][break] Jayden gave a sigh of relief, before releasing the pokemon. "C'mon," he said, pushing the gems back into his pouch. He swam over to the nearby abandoned shipwreck, hauling himself onto one of the lower planks and then pulling the Psyduck up from the water with him.

[break][break] Dawn rose in the distance, slowly but surely.

A wild Jellicent rises in the distance of the abandoned shipwreck, and nearly beheads him in the process.

[break][break] Wrapping his arms around the Psyduck in his grasp, Jayden has to duck as the the large jellyfish floats above his head, radiating waves of light and dark intertwined. A NIGHTSHADE is aimed at the depths of the ocean, of the tiny minnows swimming in the undercurrent, and the splash causes fainted fish pokemon and seaweed to rise up to the surface in it's wake.

[break][break] Though slow-moving, the Jellicent eventually descends from the height of the shipwreck and to the ocean surface. Several Jellicent come to join him not moments later, and it is then that Jayden realizes that they are feasting. It must be breakfast time for them, he thinks absently, and it is only then that he notices that his Psyduck has slipped away from his grip.

[break][break] Blinking rapidly, he turns and stands upon the half-broken plank, precariously making his way through the abandoned shipwreck. He grabs the edges of the boat to keep his balance, wondering where his water pokemon could have ducked off to.

The wooden boards creak under his weight — an inexperienced person's misstep might make the material fracture under his weight, accidently splintering his foot into the hole. However, Jayden is not that. He is experienced, a veteran, at traversing difficult terrain. He is careful is to keep his steps light and purposeful as he navigates the abandoned ship, looking for sight of his pokemon.

[break][break] He ducks behind a tangle of ratlines, the ropes frayed at the edges. His fingers release the grip, as he hops down onto the lower section of the ship.

[break][break] There is no sign of the Psyduck, or for that matter anyone else, so Jayden chooses to duck into a nearby cabin. The room is dark -- almost pitch-blank, with the except of the light that leaks into the room by way of the windows. It is then, however, that he sees his Psyduck cowering in a corner, with a Sableeye dancing around him.

[break][break] The Sableeye looks more mischievous than it is malicious, dropping down and then up again, tilting it's head left to right as it dances circles around the water-type. However, the Psyduck looks anything but entertained by it, head ducked, hands around his head as he cowers and shakes. Jayden steps forward, and a board beneath him creaks. The Sableeye whips it's head around at him, eyes glowing translucent in the dark.

[break][break] Suddenly, it seems not so carefree.

[break][break] Before the Sableeye can attack, however, it seems that Ala has reached the end of his rope. A glow surrounds the duck pokemon's tail which then releases in a powerful AQUA TAIL. A massive blue wave surges from behind the water pokemon, nearly as high as the room's ceiling, and crashes into the ghost type. The Sableeye lets out a shout, startled, and the momentum from the attack throws him off balance, making him tumble into Jayden's chest.

[break][break] The dark-haired boy is thrown into the wall at the same time with a grunt, and blinking blearily down at the pokemon in his grip, who looks equally dazed, Jayden presses a pokeball to its forehead to take advantage.
