Coming to such a place was never easy, physically or mentally but Chloe had always tried to visit when she had the time. She felt it was only natural after all she had been with the league. She figured it was something that she was suppose to do putting the league aside - it was right to visit and pay respects to the deceased every now and then. Chloe didn't have any pokemon that rested in Mt.Pyre, she didn't like to imagine it, but she knew it was a reality that she'd have to face one day - though she was hopeful that it would be a long days away.

The graves of pokemon were finally in sight, and as usual there weren't many people around. She didn't blame them, it was quite difficult coming here. Even then it didn't cross her mind to try and converse with people, since she couldn't imagine what they would discuss. Making her way to one of the older graves that paid respects to a pokemon who helped defend hoenn during the times of war. Quickly and quietly she clasped her hands in the form of a prayer and uttered a thanks to the pokemon who rested inside the grave.

After that she wandered about, glancing around at the other graves. She was a little distracted that she hadn't noticed a person that she'd bump into. Alarmed at her stupidity, she immediately bowed her head apologetically "Sorry!" She realized that she spoke a little to loudly that other people looked at her strangely. "Sorry.. I'm a Clutz.. " She said in a whispering tone, a small blush flushing onto her face.

Froslass (Snow Cloak): Hex | Hail | Blizzard | Will-o-Wisp | Draining Kiss | Aurora Veil

An icy chill surrounds Chloe shortly after the bump. Hanna the Froslass was typically the epitome of graceful as she drifted about silently in the air. But the number of spiritual energies in this place had her distracted, and her semi-physical form had unintentionally collided with a mortal of this plane. As apologetic as the girl, the obi swiftly drew back and bowed. How oafish of her![break][break]

It isn't until her master catches sight of the interaction, out of the corner of his sharp cobalt eyes, that the young lady is met with another human presence. "I'm sorry, is everything okay?" He inquiries stepping forward to take his place beside the Froslass.[break][break]

Dressed in a black aran-knit sweater, pleated black trousers, and polished brown shoes, the spectacled gentleman holds a thick (and seemingly ancient) tome against his side as he regards the woman. The scent of dragon's blood incense subtly drifts from his person. One could assume he'd taken part in one of the many rituals or memorial services hosted at Mt. Pyre.[break]

When Chloe felt the sudden chill in the air. She thought that she angered the spirits of the resting pokemon, and they were staring her down with their piercing cold gazes. Luckily that wasn't the case, instead it was a Froslass who had been emitting the cold air - and when Chloe realized it she quickly backed up giving the pokemon more space then it needed. Froslass wasn't exactly the spirit of a resting pokemon, but it was identical to one.

Chloe looked towards the approaching man. His attire indicating that he had recently been in a memorial of sorts. She felt sad for the individual, assuming that he had endured a loss of his pokemon. "Oh! Yes.. Just peachy." Chloe stuttered out, she suddenly felt her heart quickening. Maybe it was the mans intimidating gaze that made her feel jittery.

"Sorry, I bumped into your froslass. I was slightly distracted" She apologized to him and glanced back towards his pokemon, it was certainly very pretty. Chloe felt like she was in a trance merely by staring at the pokemon. "She sure does look graceful.." The words escaped from Chloe's mouth unintentionally, and she quickly clasped her hands over her mouth when she realized that she said it out loud. She felt embarrassed that she said what she was thinking, "Oh, sorry It's
a bad habit of mine, to always say what I'm thinking." She said with a laugh and a slightly reddened face.

The ambassador follows her line of sight towards his pokémon. The Froslass, however, seems flustered by the sudden attention she's receiving. With a short curtsy goodbye, she twirls around and not-so-casually positions herself behind a grave marker.[break][break]

"Hanna is prone to distraction herself, there's no need to apologize." The black-haired royal says in turn. He finds himself a little confused by her apparent embarrassment afterwards. Particularly because he believes there'd been nothing she said that had warranted it. So he dismisses the apology quickly.[break][break]

"That's a refreshing trait," He remarks. "If more people stated what they were thinking more often, perhaps the world would be a better place for it." Extending his hand for a shake, he introduces himself. "Remiel Calcifet, by the way."[break][break]

His Galarian accent is present, though not as heavy as one might expect of the Galarian Ambassador.[break]

"Oh is that so? Guess I have that in common with her! " Chloe said light heartedly her brown eyes glancing over towards the pokemon who had began to move away. When he gave appraisal she felt touched most people thought it was annoying how she blurted things out without thought. So it felt nice to hear when he said it was a good trait to have. She chuckled a little her hand scratching at her hair."Yeah, I feel the same way! People shouldn't hold back how they are feeling." She believed that it would be better if people just expressed themselves, but do it in ways that didn't harm others. After all it wasn't healthy to keep things bottled up inside.

She smiled, giving the mans hand a gentle squeeze and shake. When he mentioned his name Chloe felt like she heard it frequently. "My name's Chloe! Chloe Porter" When she introduced herself she picked up on the small accent of his, and it sounded slightly Galarian. That's when the gears clicked inside her brain "Galarian Ambassador correct?" Chloe asked her tone became slightly more respectful. As she had been slightly intimidated when she realized - Chloe didn't imagine that she'd run into someone of importance in such a place.
"Pleasure to meet you sir! I'm a ranger with the League."

Remiel nods, his expression ever nonchalant. "That's right. You've got a keen eye and good memory," He remarks, taking a step past her after they've shaken their hands. One of the candles nearby, in a grouping of five, has lost its flame.[break][break]

As he sets out to fix that, he continues. "No need for the formalities, though. As a ranger, I'd say you're more deserving of my respect." Carefully, he lifts another candle out of its socket and tilts it sideways, looking to reignite the other as hot wax drips down to the stone-cobbled floor below.[break][break]

"Oh you think so?" Chloe responded laughing at his flattery. It was unexpected as she heard rumors that the ambassador was quite cold, but upon meeting him in person Chloe felt like he was the exact opposite! Sure he seemed to be a little more on the serious side, but that was expected! Her head turned noticing that one of the candles light's had been blown out, just as she moved to light it Remiel was already doing it.

Chloe nodded, she would respect his wishes of being addressed informally blinking a few times, she thought about his statement. Personally Chloe didn't feel like she deserved anything that was respectable - but she did know some rangers who did achieve amazing tasks. "Heh I don't know about that, I haven't done much.. Chloe admitted before quickly changing topics. Watching as he tempted to reignite one of the candles Chloe pondered about the symbolism. She lacked knowledge when it came to rituals since she hadn't experienced loss before. Her brown eyes wandered over towards Remiel, it couldn't hurt to ask right?
"Uh.. mind explaining to me what those candles mean?" She cracked a smile looking down at candles watching their light gently flicker. Chloe was genuinely curious, she knew that the knowledge would be beneficial one couldn't stay ignorant forever.

Remiel's eyes seem to glow, his stare fixed on the new flickering flame he has produced. "Oh? This practice is new to you? How curious..." He remarks, briefly eyeing Chloe before carefully putting back the candle he had used prior.[break][break]

"The ritual is almost universal in origin. It can be traced back to ancient religious rites and the beginning of humanity as we know it. Light dispels darkness... and the living flame signifies many things. For one, it acts as a signal of remembrance for those who have passed on."[break][break]

He pauses when Hanna returns to his side, subtly hiding herself behind his leg. Her shyness confounds him.[break]

Listening curiously as Remiel explained the ritual, she found it slightly strange yet fascinating. "How interesting" Chloe commented. Eyes fixated as the small fire flickered and slowly burned, somehow watching it gave her mind a sense of ease. I uh.. never really experienced stuff like rituals. " She admitted sheepishly wondering how the ambassador would think of her. Unsure of what else to say they stood in silence, watching the five candles as they burnt. Usually Chloe found it easy to start a conversation, but ever since she realized that she was in the presence of an ambassador it intimidated her not to say anything foolish.

Gaze drifting down towards the hiding frosslass Chloe couldn't help but smile as she found the shyness of the pokemon to be amusing. "My pokemon aren't very shy, they are slightly more eager.. and difficult to handle."

"Quite frankly, I find that in itself quite fascinating," The royal responds, the low-hanging mist of the mountain crawling across beneath them. "I hope you don't mind my asking, but where did you grow up?"[break][break]

Meanwhile, Hanna the Froslass stared at Chloe a moment longer before something in the distance, something seemingly imperceptible by the human eye or ear, drew her attention away. Remiel didn't seem to notice at first as he answered. "I have many pokemon with similar inclinations. Though you won't find me traveling with them too often."[break]

"Castelia City!" Chloe responded quickly and with a bright smile. While she did miss home, Chloe didn't have any regrets coming to Hoenn even though it was a nation riddled with problems there had been many incredible moments and memories she had made for the short duration she had been here for. Now she considers Hoenn as a second home. As they continued their conversation Chloe noticed a strange sensation, in the beginning she had ignored it. Believing that it had been in her head since Remiel didn't notice either. Somehow the strange feeling felt even closer, and it began to bug the young ranger prompting her to ask the other man. A look of confusion and slight fear painted on her face.

"Is it just me or do you feel that there's something strange around us?" As Chloe questioned Remiel she began to look around only to find that there wasn't anything around them besides Hanna who had been looking at something in the distance.

Unovan, and from Castelia City itself, no less. This certainly made him understand why such customs were foreign to her. "Ahh... Castelia City is quite the metropolis. I never would have guessed you were from there." He remarks, finally noticing his Froslass' strange behaviour.[break][break]

It's just then, of course, that Chloe points out the strange feeling in the air as well. Remiel narrows his eyes at their surroundings. Though not one to claim any possession of psychic ability or otherwise, his experience with Ghost-type pokémon lended itself to sensing oddities of that nature. "Something stirs... in the mist."[break][break]

Suddenly, Hanna drifts in front of them before coming to a slow stop, raising her arm... and pointing ahead. The mist just a few meters away begins to silently part, revealing a haunting vista of mountainside ruins: one of Mt. Pyre's long forgotten temples.[break][break]

Sparked with instant curiosity, the black-haired royal steps past his Froslass as he pulls out his phone. There's interference, however, and he isn't allowed to take record of their GPS coordinates. He was sure he'd never seen these ruins on any map, however... and he'd visited this part of the mountain before. This had never been here. "How curious..."[break][break]

Pocketing his phone, then turning over his shoulder, he sets his eyes back upon Chloe. "Miss Porter, I don't suppose I could convince you to accompany me forward, could I? We've stumbled upon something quite remarkable. It would be most prudent to have a second pair of eyes to witness it."[break][break]

And, should she agree, the trio would step forward shortly thereafter.[break][break]
