The rope spooled out as Kibou soared into the vacuum of Ultra Space. His Z-Move would protect him, but only for a little while.
TWANG
The rope went taut around Zac's waist. He was going to wait a good twenty seconds, give time for Dunsparce to look around, but the portal started to close. "Kibou! Grab whatever you can! We're pulling you back out!" Zac shouted, and he started to haul on the rope.
The portal was closing too fast.
John Sullivan leapt to the rescue, Gigantamaxing his Orbeetle, and the pull of gravity warped around them. Zac felt his body double, triple in weight, and he heaved at the rope with leaden muscles. Gravity sucked at the portal, ripping at the nothing on the other side, and the Kibou lost within.
"Heave!" Zac shouted, his words sounding strange in the warped cave. His tongue was too heavy, couldn't form words right.
"jorgen! help us out! pull out kibou!" Shouted Kazimir Wynter , and his Ultra Beasts set to work. Naganadel blasted the portal with another Dragon Pulse, keeping the hole open, and Jorgen grabbed the rope with one hand the the portal with the other, reefing meter after meter of the material back into their world.
Hand over hand, the whole crew pulled Kibou back through the gate into Ultra Space. The little snake plopped back onto the ground, his eyes wide and his wings ruffled. Just what had he seen on the other side of the portal?
