"i would if i don't fly away!" kaz yelped as a bunch of the murkrow were swarming him and the loaf of bread that he clung to for dear life as the birds were sinking their talons into his clothes to try and carry both of them off to their nest. a picnic outside sounded delightful, especially when spending it with zac and the two of them making their own bread as cooking and the like were guilty pleasures of his. in hindsight when he noticed the gathering of murkrows hanging around it should have told him that something wasn't right with them.

now he knew.

they were hungry.

"simba!" cried the blonde as he eased up on his hold of his bread to reach down and click on a pokeball, releasing a yellow cat like creature that let out a yawn and stretched, oblivious to the feathered carnage happening behind him. "simba! help! fry these turkeys! hurry up!" the zeraora tilted his head at kazimir who was starting to be lifted off the ground and watched him fly away as he rubbed his paws together and lifted them up into the air. electricity danced form its palms and struck down the birds carrying kazimir as well as kaz himself and his bread.

as they all dropped to the floor the sweet smell of baked bread wafted over the area, the smell being hard to resist by simba as the zeraora sauntered over and took the break from kazimir's twitching hands and bit off a small chunk for itself to chew on.

as the hand was offered to him kaz happily took it and suddenly he felt a rush of energy flow into his body and overwhelm it. the rush alone pushed him up more than he pulled himself up onto his feet, it was like he almost jumped up onto his feet. he looked down at his other hand and silently flexed his fingers, "honestly? felt like a river of energy drink shot up through my whole body. or like...a nice cool drink spreading everywhere. that make sense? it kinda tingles if i'm being honest." he had never experienced an avatar's power up close and personal before, it was a little bit terrifying knowing something like that could just produce a feeling like that in his body. he wasn't even sure if he liked it or not, he was just grateful for the patching up.

his worries were put to rest when the giant red head brought out even more baked goods as the sight of them made kaz's eyes light up with a glimmer. "oh wow those look great!" kaz took a pair for himself and his zeraora who sniffed it curiously before taking it into its paws and giving it a lick. kazimir on the other hand went in for a full bite of it prompting his zeraora to follow suit. the two of them munched on the scones and their eyes light up even brighter than before as they started to much on them even wildly.

however their enjoyment was cut short as a stream of water shot out of the nearby pond and drenched the two of them and their treats and turning them into sogy messes. kazimir looked as if he was ready to shed a tear while simba's eyes were starting to (or were already) water. as the two fo them feel to their knees a GOLISOPOD emerged from the pond and glared at the picnic group before aiming a water gun attack at them.

the barrage of wimpods was impressive as their name implies that they wouldn't really be brave enough to go along with storming a pair of dudes just trying to have a nice meal. guess hunger would make even the most sheepish of pokemon do some crazy things. while zac was busy losing his basket to a few of them kaz had to deal with a few flying his way. luckily he had a knack for catching wimpods in the past as he liked to chase after them for a good running exercise. just because they were in the air made no difference to him as he managed to pluck two of them out of the air while dodging a third and fourth and making a wimpod sandwhich out of the two he caught and throwing them back towards the pond they came from.

"nice try! but it'll take more than that! simba!" his zeraora raced forward and with fists clenched jumped at the golisopod, "PUMMELING PICNIC PANDEMONIUM!" kazimir exclaimed as his zeraora unleashed a flurry of punches on the bug in an attempt to show it why it was a master of CLOSE COMBAT.

"it comes from the heart! look down deep into your soul and you'll know its name instantly!" kazimir called out as he beat his chest. some of the names he did give a little thought but those were saved for team combinations rather than just one off attacks. deep down he could feel the name just come up from within him as he called it out, like a feeling that empowered both him and his pokemon to new heights.

zac seemed to take it to heart (heh) as he called out his own attack with his pokemon sending the golisopod rolling along the floor in a crumpled heap, struggling to stabilize itself as it tried to stand and looked in their general direction with a growl and every passerby wimpod coming up to inspect the battle.

"oooh not bad. give it...four out of five. its good but it doesn't look like a rem revolution. ya get it?" kazimir complimented on zac's efforts as he leaned against him with one arm and raised up four fingers before gesturing to his zeraora to finish the job. "simba! SHOCKING SMACKDOWN!" the lightning cat dashed forward to met the bug type face to face with lightning coated fists before slamming them down like lightning bolts down onto it, giving it such a shock that it fell into unconscious state and was limp.

kazimir and his zeraora gave each other a thumbs up before he looked up at zac, "see what i mean?"

as he joined zac back at their picnic spot he let out a sigh as he plopped down onto his butt which was mirrored by his zeraora. for such a simple picnic they sure were running into a lot of trouble. they were worn out as well as starving, so when zac pulled otu some leftover bread that hadn't been brutally murdered by pokemon's hands kazimir's face light up. his face quickly changed to shock when zac suddenly let it out.

the words that welled up in his soul

they earned a round of applause from kaz and his zeraora as they were handed their bread. "ok that one was pretty good. five outta five zac! now lets chow down cause damn...i'm hungry. seriously this park has way too many wild pokemon just roaming around. people are gonna get hurt."
