A labyrinth of sand castles and sand walls that reached up to ten feet high. An obstacle course of floating barrels, nets, and ramps out at sea. The beach was lively with the presence of competition and celebration.

"Cha, alright! Y'all ready for this catching competition to start? Make some noise for our participants!" The announcer exclaims, urging the crowd of scantily clad beach-goers on the bleachers to stand and cheer and clap their hands as loudly as they could.

Meanwhile, the row of participants taking part in this competition stand at a starting line drawn in the sand. Lev is amongst them, standing shirtless and wearing nothing but a pair of dark blue swim shorts, a belt, and a harness carrying multiple moon balls. He grins at the participant (MATIAS SILPH ) beside him. "Good luck, mate."

A shot is fired. The game has begun.

One of those Galarian abominations ambled about in the maze of sand castles as Lev made his way towards the beach. Deciding the beast looked dopey enough to provide little resistance, the pirate stopped in his tracks and unclipped an empty moon ball from his harness. "Don't struggle, mate!"

He chucks the ball at the towering fish-dragon. It turns to regard the throw just before the ball bops it on the forehead, devouring it in a flash of light before it hits the sand.

matias chucks a pokeball at it, starting his tally for the day.

A very lost and very confused Flabebe floats into the arena. Coincidentally, it floats directly into Lev's path. It gasps as the shirtless pirate unclips a ball from his harness and rushes closer to it.

A TEARFUL LOOK is given, but garners no mercy from the one-eyed scoundrel as he aims his empty ball and chucks it at the tiny flower. "Hehe! Bullseye!" He cheers upon seeing it get devoured by the ball's light. That was two points so far! He was on a roll!

[attr="class","matias"]again, poking out from behind the sandcastle, is something that thought it could hide out the chaos of the competition. its translucent tail flaps against the sand, and as it pokes more of its head out, a pokeball taps against little poliwag's head.

matias turns, noticing a floating flabebe be consumed by a pokeball. it appears they are neck and neck, after all.

Finally, the beach!

Alevander is quick to wade into it as Water-type pokemon play all around. Though he had hoped to find something impressive to catch first, however, he instead slips on a Mantyke that had been obscured by the sea foam below.

He barely manages to keep himself from falling backwards as the shocked manta ray baby shoots out of the water and into the sky. Catching it in his arms, Lev is slapped by one of its fins as he unclips a ball from his holster and barely manages to tap it against it.

That was... fairly embarrassing. But he snickers anyway to play it off.

[attr="class","matias"]something else pokes out from behind the sandcastle, and as matias readies another pokeball, he soon realizes this one won't be as easy. it crashes through, destroying structures made of sand, and sends an AURORA BEAM flying his way.

a pokeball bursts open and the cloyster that forms takes the impact, ice scaling across its hard shell. matias tsks, taking a step back. "do better, cloyster." the PROTECT that never came is frustrating. cloyster realizes this, too.

and so retaliation comes in the form of a WHIRLPOOL. streams of water shoot from the ocean, surrounding the walrein as they look to drown. it struggles and as it opens its mouth to shoot a WATER GUN, the streams of water suddenly harden, turning into a confining ICICLE CRASH.

only then does the pokeball get thrown.

Just as soon as Lev manages to keep himself from slipping on a Mantyke, however, his other foot steps upon the armor plating of a Kabutops that had been hunting it. With a gurgled shriek, it knocks him on his ass.

Scrambling back onto his feet in the water, he barely manages to unclip an empty moon ball and toss it at the prehistoric beast moments before a scythe descends to cut him.

when a kirlia appears, the pokeball bursts open, and this time the ICICLE CRASH is instantaneous. it crashes into kirlia, sends it to the ground, and before it has a chance to react — its mouth opening for a meek GROWL — another ICICLE CRASH downs it.

a pokeball flies, capturing.
