The moon rises; dull light reflecting onto silvery waters, Chloe rides the waves on the back of her mantine. The pair eventually approach a ship, one which is half submerged under water. She found it strange, how a ship could remain in such a state but didn’t bother questioning it. Instead Chloe boldly stepped onto it, unbothered as wooden planks creaked under her shoes. Though the sound of a crash did catch her attention, eyes narrowed as she looked in the general direction of the sound. “Someone here”? Her voice carried by the howling wind

Of all the sceneries that Hoenn has to offer, Ryuuzaki admits that the ocean is by far the best environment - The gentle cries if Wingulls, the lulling ebb and flow of the tides, the chilly ocean breeze that envelopes his entire being. He misses that overwhelming sensation of the unknown, his hands tracing the condensation left upon the rickety banisters of this abandoned ship.

What journeys had she made before she had reached these final resting grounds? What kinds of people and treasures had she carried across the open waters? Wood can't quite speak in tongues but the stories are carved into her very body that he wanders upon: The tattered and yellowed geological charts, the rusted remnants of a spinning globe and the dull corpse of a sea compass. He fumbles with the last item for a minute, turning it about as he examines the details engraved on its surface, then pockets it once he's done, much to the disdain of the Glaceon beside him.

"It can find better use than rotting here." His insistence comes with reason, his eyes flickering over the captain's table and its blanket of soggy dust. "You know better than anyone that navigation is a pain." And yet, Skadi only replies with a misty exhale, her breath encouraging the blooming of ice under her feet as she turns to exit the room.

"You know, I would appreciate it if you gave me something more than a huff… Maybe have some excitement for seeing the ghosts of the souls that lingered?" Such is the fate of the whimsical, ignored by those who hold themselves with dignity and pride. Shrugging, Ryuuzaki follows after, snickering ever so slightly as Skadi jumps at a loud crash. Through the howling winds, he swears he can hear a voice and that suspicion is confirmed as the snowy princess ducks behind his legs. "Bet that's the ghosts feeling offended at your lack of enthusiasm."

The tease is met with a low growl, a harsh whimpers of sorts as she butts her head against his shin. God, how he loves it when the mighty get shaken. Picking her up, Ryuuzaki ruffles her fur and steps up to the challenge, bold in his steps as he emerges from the darkest corridors, his sunset-streaked hair seemingly reflecting the pale moonlight.

"Who dares to trespass on holy grounds?" Though he isn't sure of the origins of the ship himself, he isn't one to pass up the opportunity to mess with another person. "What business do you have here, little one?"

"OhGOD JEsuschrist" Chloe staggers backwards, almost falling to her feet when she hears the voice of Ryuuzaki's. His sudden emergence completely caught her by surprise, luckily she managed to refrain herself from screaming when she first saw him. When he was in the dark corridor, he looked completely like a ghost. She's been more scared of ghosts ever since that one mission she partook in with Razz Kingsman However Chloe quickly realized that Ryuuzaki was just a person, when she took a closer look.

She took a few deep breaths, placing a hand over her chest to slow down her rapid heart beat. With another sigh she would speak, not even attempting to hide the irritating in her tone. "You shouldn't go around scaring people like that!" She starts off, clearing her throat as she calmed down. "I'm here to catch pokemon.. why else?" Chloe figured that such a location would be home to many different types of pokemon.

How he loves it when he catches someone off guard, the suppressed scream dancing upon the breeze as he snickers. "My bad, didn’t think that anyone daring enough to explore this ship at nightfall would be scared that easily." He glances over the girl once more, taking in her presence as the night sky washes over her. "Especially for someone trying to catch pokemon in these haunted straits."

Even with the warning given, he can't help but slip in a little hint of the supernatural. After all, isn't it better for his newfound companion to be aware of the dangers that may lie ahead? Humming gently, Ryuuzaki wanders to the ship's edge, gazing into the shimmering waters as he allows Skadi to sit upon the banister. His hand reaches for his pouch, a few berries scattered into the shimmering sea without much thought put into it. Then, he lazily lobs a pokeball into the bubbling mix, watching for a response from the shadows of the Magikarp that linger beneath.

"I just wasn't expecting another person." She attempts to defend herself from the accusation but is embarrassed with how she reacted, in front someone she just met too. She rolls her eyes when he states the seas are haunted. "It's not haunted, theres just ghost types." It was the reason why she came to such a place in the first place. "Which is what I'm looking for." Chloe added, her tone is calmer and she speaks in more of a casual manner.

She scoffs lightly when he mentions that theres a ghost behind her, believing that he was just playing tricks on her again. "Can't fool me twice" She replies with soft laughter, turning to see this supposed ghost. To her surprise there was a ghost, a ghost pokemon. "Just what I was looking for, thanks for the heads up." Chloe whistled into the air, catching the attention of her mantyke who had been waiting for her trainer in the waters below.

"Hydropump" Following her trainers command, a gush of water would fly towards the phantrump, it fainted on impact. She quickly tossed a pokeball when it fainted. "Do you like playing tricks on others or is it something you do whenever you get the chance?"

Excuses, excuses. At the very least, Ryuuzaki knows she's trying to make a recovery so he lets that slide with a mischievous smirk and a shrug. "You never know! Perhaps the ghost of the ship's captain still remains in these halls." While he can admire her bravery in the face of achieving her goals, he can't quite appreciate the way she goes about doing so, silence falling over him as he bears witness to her actions.

"You sure did wake up and chose violence, didn't you?" Carefully retrieving the pokeball from the water surface, Ryuuzaki hums with a trailing thought - Are all League trainers like this? Or all trainers in general? He recalls seeing another man do so to a poor sharpedo... "Make sure he gets checked on later, at least. Wouldn't want your newest partner to have a concussion and all."

He resists the urge to launch into a lecture on pokemon welfare and insist on examining the Phantump himself. As much as he would like to, he's currently off duty and holds no authority in these waters. Over the rotting wood and growing seaweed, Ryuuzaki spies an oddity basking in the moon's glow, taking quick aim before tossing a pokeball right at the Binacle.

"Not just anyone, just around beauties like you." It's too good of an opportunity to pass off, the man bursting into light laughter as he sneaks a peek at the girl's reaction. "I'm Ryuuzaki, but you can call me Ryuu. May I have the honour of knowing your name?"

She wasn't intending to harm it any more then it needed it to be. Chloe didn't really see why Ryuuzaki saw it as 'violent' Chloe had merely issued a single attack. and she felt like she didn't over do it. She still blushes from Ryuuzaki's accusation; "uhh alright, will do.."

It was then where she noticed the ghostly presence of dusclops, she would unlatch one of her pokeballs from her belt in a swift movement. Releasing an eager vaporeon. "Hydro pump" A blast of water was hurled towards the dusclops, sending it backwards. Chloe then threw an empty pokeball at it.

"Chloe Porter" She introduced walking towards the pokeball to pick up her newest capture.

Though he's lucky at times, he knows that fate tends to favour those who bare their fangs. Compared to his pacifistic and almost lackadaisical way of attempting capture, @chloe's method of weakening the pokemon is definitely one that he cannot deny. Where she succeeds, he fails, a light smile dusting his lips as he watches his Glaceon attempt to pick a fight with the Binacle.

"Leave it, Skadi. It's rude to hit another in their home." Not that he's ignoring his own actions of literally bonking the poor pokemon over the head with a pokeball, he just doesn't feel like treating any frostbite in the middle of the sea. Even if it's not that cold out, wind chill and sea spray can quickly exacerbate the situation. "Besides, I'm not gonna take freedom away from the ones that fight for it."

Neither does he want the pains of having to wrangle a distrustful pokemon.

"Chloe Porter… That's a nice name." He hums, gathering his thoughts as he beckons for Skadi to follow him towards the bow of the ship. "So Miss Porter, where might you be from? If you don't mind me asking." Of course, he only dares to pry since she's the only company he has for now, having a little conversation starter may help to shatter the awkwardness between them.

She finds it ironic how Ryuuzaki fails his capture attempt. She doesn’t say anything however, as she prefers not to say anything rude. “Oh thank you” She responds to Ryuuzaki’s random compliment with a genuine smile. She unlatches another pokeball from the belt around her waist, summoning her vaporeon fourth. “Unova, Castelia City to be exact.” Chloe didn’t mind sharing the information, even if it was a little personal.

Her vaporeon hopped onto one of the ships old railings, staring at the distant sea. “How about you? From Hoenn?” There weren’t any pokemon nearby so she figured that it’d be nice to start a conversation.

"It's not rude to laugh. Getting to catch any pokemon by pure luck is a rare occurrence." While she's quiet about it, Ryuuzaki knows that Chloe is probably laughing on the inside in some form. Instead of finding it offensive, he welcomes the mockery, needing more ways to start a conversation with her. "More so when I'm the one attempting it. Right, Skadi?"

The Glaceon looks at him with such muted disappointment, a low growl rumbling from her throat before she huffs and turns away from his mess. Typical of her to not want being roped into his self-deprecation. Shrugging, Ryuuzaki merely ruffles her fur, scratching behind her ear as he looks back into the silent waters. "Most trainers like to weaken them before capture. I used to when I was younger but after working in Kanto…"

There is a slight pause that follows his words, his gaze unfocused as he sinks into a well of dark memories. "Well, let's just say I like to gamble with fate more than I like to actually throw hands with these kids." Pulling himself back to the present requires a gentle nudge from Skadi, a brief spark of concern melting into mild annoyance when she confirms that she has his attention. "Anyways, I'm from Sinnoh. Currently working as a veterinarian in Lilycove."

When he spots movement in the water once more, he throws out a pokeball of his own, summoning a rather excitable Lapras as she happily splashes water at him. "Heya, Lily. Mind helping me out?" The instructions are vague but she complies with a nod, singing to the Relicanth that hovers nearby. Then, when it's finally asleep, he throws out a spare pokeball in hopes of it working this time around.
