A lazy toss of a pokeball reveals a Hydreigon that snarls from three sets of jaws upon release, one of its heads taking a spiteful chomp in another's direction. Gavin whistles, and the Hydreigon snaps to attention.

His smile widens as he clicks his tongue.

The dragon does not move, but its eyes glimmer with NASTY PLOTS.

nothing changes their battle plan. they've trained for this, and as noivern soars across, he realizes it might be a closer battle than he would've liked it to be.

A sharp whistle from Gavin and a signal of his hand sees the Hydreigon swoop back out of reach from the Noivern's deadly fangs.

"Mm, tough luck."

He clicks twice.

Hydreigon retaliates with a close-range HYPER BEAM, boosted by its sinister plotting.

[attr="class","matias"]he tenses at the whistle, involuntary, and immediately looks around the vicinity, on guard for something that's not there. it's what allows the HYPER BEAM to slip through the cracks in his focus. it strikes the noivern, sending it to plummeting to the ground.

"HEAL."

he practically roars the order. noivern tucks its wings in, ROOSTING, then spreads them right as it nears the ground. it redirects just in time to avoid the ground, now gliding across to the vulnerable hydreigon.

Something coy in Gavin's tone, sun catching on his canines.

Hydreigon grumbles and reels in the wake of the heavy attack, forced to RECHARGE its strength after the amount of energy it had taken.

It snaps its teeth as the Noivern flits close, a warning.

"SUPER FANG."

noivern shrieks, angered, and latches itself onto hydreigon's back before sinking its SUPER FANGS into one of its three necks.

"DRAGON PULSE."

ears booming with fury, a DRAGON PULSE loud enough to shatter glass bursts from its ears.

This time, the Noivern's fangs sink deep before Hydreigon can get away.

Gavin doesn't flinch. He clicks his tongue.

Instructed to counter, Hydreigon does do with a point-blank DRAGON PULSE of its own. The two beams of energy clash violently in midair, a brilliant fusion of red and purple.

Gavin clicks again, twice, and Hydreigon follows with ASSURANCE.

[attr="class","matias"]the clash of red and purple energy sends the noivern reeling. in a moment of panic, it ROOSTS, shedding fur, which leaves it vulnerable to the ASSURANCE. it cries as it redirects its path in the air.

noivern takes to the skies, fleeing.

"your clicking is interesting."

Behind sunglasses, his eyes gleam. He smirks.

"I prefer 'efficient'."

He clicks again, and Hydreigon fires a TRI-ATTACK at the fleeing Noivern.

[attr="class","matias"]the TRI-ATTACK flies through the air, swirling with colorful energies as it looks to down the noivern. the dragon-type tucks its wings in, dropping enough to avoid it before stretching its wings out wide again.

"sure."

noivern circles in the air, waiting for its mark.

Hydreigon snarls its displeasure as the Noivern swoops underneath its attack. All three of its heads snap furiously at the air, but a sharp whistle from Gavin seems to draw them under control.

He clicks, once.

Though it evidently wants to continue its assault, the three-headed dragon obediently FOCUSES ITS ENERGY on the opponent as it draws close.

they decide to keep their distance; the way hydreigon starts focusing does not go unnoticed. they'll have to evade an attack soon or risk losing the battle.

noivern's ears vibrate in another DRAGON PULSE that flies through the space.

Hydreigon takes the attack, not risking the loss of its focus with the effort it would take to dodge. It falters in the air but remains standing through sheer rage and tenacity.

Dragons aren't Gavin's thing, but this one's all right.

He clicks.

Fully focused, the three-headed Pokemon fires a coloured beam from each of its mouths in a TRI-ATTACK.
