Fernando matches Chu-e’s laugh with one of his own. It’s all jokes and casual small talk between the heads of two opposing factions. And somehow, Raziel Beckett, of all people, is their subject of interest.

“I’ll be sure to remind him. Good to know he has such caring friend to look out for him.”

Without missing a beat, Fernando meets Chu-e’s hand with his own. His handshake is firm but gentle, lacking the suppressing squeeze frequent between business partners.

“It was a good match—”

He breaks his sentence mid-way to allow Chu-e to fill in the blank with his name.

"Ji-Hoon Ki!" He can't suppress a laugh at the obvious lead in. Had FERNANDO SILPH forgotten him that quick? Well, whatever, the guy probably had to look at fifty new people every day and pretend he cared about them. Chu-e had been just a weirdo with a strange horse. Nothing memorable otherwise. It was more funny than insulting.

Chu-e's own grip is firm with confidence. Not iron, he's not trying too hard or projecting, just the kind of handshake that men fifty years ago would instantly trust you for. When you knew what people wanted it was easy enough to practice.

Absolutely ruining his handshake, though, was a little crystal bitch who wanted to get a bite of Ferdando's sweet ass (read: palm).

THIS TIME, FERNANDO ATTEMPTS TO COMMIT THE NAME TO MEMORY. As long as he sees Ji-Hoon against before several months pass it won’t be too difficult. Especially now that he associates him with Raziel Beckett.

When their hands meet, everything goes fine until Fernando feels something prick him. What the black crystal takes is insignificant in the great picture of things but Fernando still winces from surprise. He draws back his hand and there’s a small incision, bleeding.

“Well met,” he says disregarding what he dismisses as a mere scratch of hands.
