Hideo had reached the arena first, patiently awaiting his opponent's arrival. He perked up when he heard someone approach, and smiled when they asked his name.

"Yup!" he said, rising from his seat. The screen on the yellow Rotomdex switched from a music app to a digital face, the device floating in the air as it guided Hideo to his spot. "Nice to meet you, Rowan!"

His opponent announced what Pokemon he was going to use - did he already notice Hideo was blind? Eh, not a problem At least that would save his Rotomdex from needing to explain it to him. He raised a finger, pressing against his chin. "Alright! In that case, the Pokemon I'll use iiiiiisssss…."

He'd decided what Pokemon he would use the moment he was headed to the arena. He was just having fun here.

"My Alcremie! Come on out, Cream!" With a press of the Pokeball, his Alcremie landed on the arena, her arms extended to the sides as she bowed.

"And since we got the first move...Cream, show our friend some fire!" Raising from her bow, Cream opened her mouth wide, Mystical Fire shooting forward towards the Psyduck.

"You know fire isn't effective against psyducks, right?" his Rotomdex commented. But Hideo just waved it off.  Not like the attack was just there to cause damage.

The waves of psychic energy reached the Alcremie. She was knocked back a moment, trying to refocus on her opponent. She was able to recollect herself, avoiding any lasting confusion, but she was certainly feeling something else now, her cheeks puffed out as she pouted as hard as she could.

“I think she’s mad,” the Rotomdex said, leaving Hideo completely unsurprised. “You might want to direct her before she goes loose.”

“I know,” Hideo sighed. He was still trying to learn how to deal with Cream’s temper; hopefully an actual battle would let some steam out. “Cream! Dazzle’em!”

The Alcremie glanced over at her trainer, sighing. But soon enough, her body would start to glow bright pink, before a Dazzling Gleam was released straight for the Psyduck.

Hideo was lucky that he didn't get to witness the blinding light, and his Rotomdex didn't have to burn, per-se.

However, their opponent was still at it, striking at Cream with a Zen Headbutt. She was pushed back, only just managing to keep her balance.

Hideo could hear the strike all the way from where he was standing. "Get'em back for that, Cream!" he ordered - a vague order letting her act the way she wanted.

She stared at the Psyduck, her eyes sparkling almost as if she were about to cry. But those Baby-Doll Eyes were for more than just weakening her foe; she'd use that chance to charge at the Psyduck and...try to shove him to the ground.

Seemed she'd reached the point of no longer pretending to be graceful.

“She’s gotta do more than shove that Psyduck if she wants to win,” the Rotomdex stated, earning a sigh from Hideo. Cream definitely needed a lot more discipline if he were to use her in a more serious competition. “And now the Psyduck’s Fury-Swiping at her.”

Cream raised her stubby arms, trying to stop any of the Fury Swipes from hitting her face - which didn’t do much to stop the blows. Frustration built inside her as she shot the Psyduck an angry glare.

“Don’t just stand there!” Hideo shouted, “Blast’em back!”

The Alcremie was too impatient to wait for an opening, fire once again spewing from her mouth as she fired another Mystical Fire at the Psyduck, aiming to hurt and push her opponent back.
