sootopolis was not an easy location to get to.

[break][break] that much, however jayden knew. yet, he went anyway. the young man traversed the difficult currents of route 126 a little after midnight, having commandeered a boat from the shore. he could have, of course, asked iris or ala to lead him somewhere deep beneath but personally speaking, he wasn't interested what it might be like to be on the difficult end of a tentracruel's whip — should he accidentally awaken him.

[break][break] in the lapse of the dark, the midnight ocean was... oddly calming.

fingers grasped against the edge of the boat, his feet trailing across the water's edge. the gentle hum of the boat echoed through the vastless deep.

[break][break] in all the dark, it was amazing that one could see anything. however, jayden did. it was a small flicker of light, something shimmering in the deep blue. plum-colored scales reflected in the water.

[break][break] a pause.

[break][break] leaning down, jayden trailed a finger into the water's edge. in his hand, he held some bait. the shiny feebas swam forward on curious fins, nosing it's way into jayden's hand. when the boy thought the pokemon was not looking, he tapped a pokeball to it's forehead to capture it.
