raziel is direct and throws a punch to the gut; for whatever reason, very few do what he actually wants them to from the start.

beckett simply slaps it, redirecting it past him as he steps to the side.

Raziel can't help but pout up at the other. Not entirely finding it fair that he had to beat him. If he had the element of surprise still he might have this or if the other was coming at him maybe. But not like this his body was still too small and weak in comparison, but he didn't want to back down. [break][break]

"What does taking you down prove?" he questions, not really expecting an answer as he hopes more for a distraction as he runs up. Raziel tries to wrap his arms around the other center before he tried to lock one leg around the back of his before trying to use a combination of his strength and weight to bring the older man down. Would his extra two inches over the past 6 months help him who knows?

he brings his knee up to strike against raziel's chest the moment he attempts to wrap his arms around. the impact sends raziel back, staggering, and beckett is quick to close the distance to throw a right hook across his jaw, sending him to the ground.

"you listen to my orders without questions. if i tell you to shit, you shit."

he looms, towering.

"am i clear, pryde?"

The teenager coughs as he is suddenly struck. Caught by surprise in more ways than one as the blow makes him stumble back. Grasping his chest in pain. This was... definitely a first, well from Theo it was. He grunts in pain as he's sent to the ground with the punch. If this had been before he may have crumbled and stayed on the floor to just wait for more. However training made crumbling not an option as he forces himself up. Raziel coughs a few more times to catch his breath as he does attempt to stand back up. [break][break]

"Sir yes, sir," he comments as he gasp of air. Taking a moment to normalize his breathing, it definitely felt weird with Theo having hit him when it was rare to nonexistent before. Though if nothing else he was obedient, and knew how to follow orders thanks to his own parent's conditioning. Though perhaps he was still to used to the old way Theo treated him that finds him adding another comment, "Finally going to treat me like the others then?"

This was meant to be a fight right? [Break][break]

So he wasn't going to completely sit back and take it. And while the blow to the jaw hurts, as does the knee to the ribs. Raziel has built up just enough tolerance to attempt to grab the leg as it kicked him before pushing forward to try and knock the admin down. While he was off balance with just one leg.[Break][break]

This time he doesn't reply, mostly because the blow to the ribs, but partly because he's being stubborn and wants to show the admin that he has improved.

Raziel can't help but smile at when he did, he does let go since the objective was complete. He hurt, a lot more than he had expected. Though he hadn't really expected Theo to actually hit him the way he was. "I won't be useless in the field," he simply replies because that's what this whole thing has been about. At least to him.

His smile can't help but widen his smile to one of more excitement. Though falters slightly as it ended up hurting from Theo's previous punches and he ends up holding the side of his face. The youngest Pryde shakes his head, he probably shouldn't be so excited about this. He didn't care for field work, even under Theo. But this was his only chance away from being under his parents thumb. So for him it was a bit of freedom. [break][break]
