Iodine brings a sense of comfort that he often misses, the scent of the chemical always reminding him that he ultimately heals as much harm as he inflicts. When he's not working shifts at the Lilycove Marine Centre nor out collecting overdue debts, Ryuuzaki can often be found in the medical wing of the Rocket headquarters caring for the injured pokemon and their trainers. Perhaps, it's in his nature to nurture. Perhaps, it's a morbid curiosity that only open wounds and bloody gashes can satiate.

Either way, where there is potential harm to treat, Ryuuzaki is most likely on the case.

A phantom pain pulses along Killian's throat as he steps into the medical wing. Memories of Lulu Flint's attempted murder flash into his mind. His body wants to tense, but a deep breath allays his ailing nerves.

"That depends on you." blue eyes cut to Ryuuzaki, "You're not gonna be singing any ridiculous songs today, are you?" a chuckle slices through the building unease in the air.

"Kidding." a polite smile flashes across Killian's face.

"The Poipole's doing fine. It evolved, actually."

Unease has a scent that cannot be shaken. It's like Meteor Falls all over again, only this time it's not an issue of performance but rather a problem of unpleasant experiences. He knows of the incidents that go down in this wing, the walls have ears and the grapevines spread wide. But it isn't his place to pry into private matters, at least not if they aren't on his hitlist.

"Oh, you should know that I can do as I please in my own office. That includes singing ridiculous songs, horribly off-pitch if I feel like it~" Leaning back into his seat, Ryuuzaki resembles something more like a mischievous house cat than a trained veterinarian or an informant well-versed in assassination and espionage. "Lulu Flint barely crosses paths with me, so don't worry about her bursting in at any point."

His attention piques at the mention of evolution, his head tilting slightly as he gently twirls a pen.

"How? Stress? Some funky bond between trainer and pokemon type deal? Did it just learn something?" A slight pause, a reminder to keep himself in check. "More importantly, can I see it?"

They'd been off to a good start too. Ryuuzaki just had to go and ruin things.

"Careful, Amemiya. You never know when that might change." Killian's smile widens, a friendly tone masking an obvious threat.

He shrugs at Lulu's name and the insinuation accompanying it. "Why would I be worried about Lulu? Because she strangled me?" he chuckles. "You're behind on the times, Ryuuzaki. Lulu and I have patched things up." and frankly, he had more pressing things to stress over than her.

If Killian didn't find Ryuu vexing, he'd respect his curiosity. It was a trait they shared.

"I locked it in a room and forced it to kill until it grew." thick like syrup, sarcasm coated his words. In reality, Killian had no idea what caused the Poipole to evolve. It happened suddenly during an intense battle. The stress from the fight was a likely trigger.

His brow arches at Ryuuzaki's request. The scent of opportunity is one Killian's intimately familiar with. It's sweet, like freshly baked desserts pulled from the oven. "That depends." he sits, legs crossing over one another.

"You're not the only one who wants to poke and prod my little beast." there's a question on the tip of his tongue. One he's sure Ryuuzaki can feel in the air.

"What's in it for me if I let you?"

It seems he really has a knack for drawing unneeded hostility! Though Ryuuzaki may be sly, he can't exactly seem to shake his talent of being unable to read the atmosphere! At the very least, he knows he hasn't lost his touch.

"Ah yes, eviction warning over my head, a readiness to dissect a fresh larynx specimen, the Monday usual it seems!" Chirping at the veiled threat, Ryuuzaki seems a little too relaxed for someone that knows what admins are capable of. Or at least, of the strings that they are able to pull around these parts. He isn't some toddler waddling around that can simply go to the higher ups and cry about how he's gotten bullied by Killian - Once his tongue has been pinned as a nuisance, it stays on the line.

"Stress, huh... What kinds of things did it kill?" Taunting, probing, playing along with the narrative if only to amuse himself in such a situation. Resting his cheek against his palm, Ryuuzaki watches as Killian finally settles in, his mind already stewing in the question before he even reads those lips.

"I'll be honest, I don't think there's much I can provide you since we both specialise in the same field."

If Killian were just about anyone, he might have made the trade for some valuable information. Alas, he has nothing and he shows it with a playful shrug as he leans back into his chair.

"I can provide you medical services, a few drinks or you know, help you eliminate a thorn in your side. That's about the best I can offer~ Oh, but I can't give you any love advice though!"

"Pokemon, of course." he answered matter-of-factly. "I had it drink their blood until they were nothing but a pile of shriveled flesh." lying, the truth? Difficult to tell given Killian's adept way with words.

Fingers fold into one another atop his lap. Analytical orbs scanned Ryuuzaki up and down as he spoke. Nothing in the words themselves called out to Killian. Offers for things he didn't need, want or could get elsewhere. Disappointment flickers like a flame in his eyes. A war of contrast between them and the curved smile on his lips visible.

"I'll take an IOU. A favor to be redeemed later at my convince."

He was feeling generous today.
