that children's rhyme stayed with her in this. Siobhan sighed inwardly as she faced the man, all eager to begin. with her was Gravedigger the Dusknoir. he stood as the main offense. Selkie the Primarina clapped her flippers happily, on defense. and finally Lich the Dragapult... he was drifting along.

being Lich, she supposed.

"ready" Siobhan says, giving a curt nod to Zac. how did she get roped into this again? she supposes it was a welcome respite from the battling. the Pokemon were enjoying themselves and it hadn't started yet. good. she forces a thin smile before turning back to the other human, waiting for the ball. they all got into position.

Zac Ramsay

there was zero chance to retaliate. the ball hit the sand expertly. no chance to block, Zac Ramsay scored a point. Gravedigger went to retrieve the very odd ball before serving. he throws it into the air, with Siobhan huffing and darting forward.

she tries with all her might to get a decent spike going. but ultimately, it was up to fate. the woman had never played this game before, so it was not certain what would happen next! but... what was this? was she having fun?

the man scored another point, but that wasn't the best part for him. though Siobhan did succeed in making his Pokémon go off the court, he did the same to her. Selkie cries out suddenly as the ball scorches her in retaliation before marching off the court as well.

her departure was a bit more awkward on sand, but she would join the other Pokémon in the water soon enough. as the ball was sent back to them, she had to retrieve it before attempting to spike it again. yes, they weren't very good at defense.

but that was okay. the whole point was to score.

Zac's Kingler's attack was a bit easy to hit back. perhaps the powerful crab was still getting used to the abilities it possessed? either way, Siobhan was ready with retaliation.

"Gravedigger!" she says to the Dusknoir, who would hit the ball back to the other side of the court. whether it was powerful enough to take one of them out remained unknown. it looked strong; but one never knew.

time to focus on the Kingler. take down the biggest kid on the playground, and you could do more damage. it would be less dangerous this way if they got the Kingler out of the game. the ball's power is lackluster, and Zac remarks on the slowness.

Siobhan retrieves the ball in the air, spiking it down before the giant Pokemon could potentially counter. this was a gamble, as she knew those long limbs could reach. "he is magnificent" she would compliment after her serve.

they were losing, but that was fine. Siobhan was... actually having a good time. though she would never admit it to anyone. the lackadaisical way of battling was far more relaxing than she gave it credit for.

the Protect did it's job, and she flailed as the ball came soaring at them. it hit the dirt, causing Gravedigger to retrieve it. he'd serve back, using his powerful palms to try and spike - for an easy scoring point.

win or lose; her Pokémon were getting experience from this. Siobhan tried to crack a smile - be it too awkward to call a real one - at Zac's 'comeback' statement. he was still up by two points, even if the Tapu Bulu bounced it back to them. Lich saw his moment to shine.

he zipped forward, headbutting the ball back over the next. whether it hit or missed wasn't important. Siobhan saw real joy on her Pokémon's faces. that was enough for her to get back into it. she readied herself for retaliation, just in case.
