It’s with a grin that Mars crosses the finish line, whistling at his Sharpedo to get her to stop swimming. He holds onto her dorsal fin in order to prevent himself from sinking, and it is then when he turns around only to see the huge wave coming his way...

Usually, he wouldn’t see this as a bad thing, but it definitely is one when his opponent is barely aware of what he’s doing here. Seriously, who thought wakeboarding when this drunk was a good idea?!

Reaching out with one arm while the other still holds onto his pokémon, he waits, and when the other crosses the finish line, he catches him so he won’t keep going or fall forward the moment his Golduck decides it's done swimming. He holds him close because he’ll sink if not, and it is with a smile that he looks at him at that moment.
