As always, Eva greets her opponent with a bright, friendly smile. Her hand reaches up to wave at him enthusiastically. Although, he doesn’t seem the type to return the energy she exudes. He seems so . . . serious.

“Hi there! Ice to meet ya! What did you say your name was again?” Or did he? No, probably not. She’d love to know whose butt she was about to kick.

A flash of light releases a Gogoat and Raichu onto the unique field. This is no traditional battle, and Eva is excited for the prospect of trying something new. The two smaller, agile pokemon were specifically chosen with the hope that leaping between platforms would come with ease. The doctor’s bright smile turns into a challenging smirk with his comment, “I never do!” that, she is confident in.

“Alright, let’s go! Get that ball!” she points towards the ball at the center of the arena. The pokemon spring into action. Sparks flash across Raiden’s coat as an AGILITY pushes him forward across the platforms. Not far behind him is Buck, who jumps between platforms with relative ease, reaching forward towards the ball with VINE WHIP

“Great! Nice to meet ya, Killian!” she repeats, but this time with his name.

Buck grunts in frustration as the ball slips from his grip thanks to the PSYCHIC from the Slowbro. Smart. The BULLET PUNCH is fast but Buck’s VINE WHIP remains raised, forming a sort of net to protect their side. The ball slams into the vines, and one quickly warps around it. In a similar fashion, he set sup Raiden. The Raichu leaps into the air and spins, SLAMMING the ball with his tail back towards Killian’s side of the field for an attempted goal.

That damned psychic-type stops the ball again. Raiden grunts, eyes narrowing in frustration. He’d leave Buck to defend their side with his useful vines while he dealt with the pests. Lightning cracks across his fur as she jumps a platform closer to the opponents. With a powerful push into the air, a boom echoes through the arena as THUNDER attempts to crash down onto the Slowbro.

Bucks’ vines save the ball again, keeping it form crossing the threshold into their goal. He leaps forward while pulling the ball closer. Time for a different strategy. Personal delivery. He uses AERIAL ACE to fade into a blur and slam Scarlet out of his way.

The Thunder does little to phase the Sloking. It actually seems to piss it off. The Raichu stares blankly ahead as psychic energy takes a hold. There’s not much he can really do about it. If Buck wasn’t securely holding the ball, perhaps he could have caught his companion. Oh well, he’s on his own.

Raiden splashes into the water and quickly surfaces for air. His little feet paddle him over to side of the pool where he’ll wait for Buck to (hopefully) score a goal so he can swoop back in and fry that Sloking with another Thunder.

Buck meets the X-Scissor head on. He’s too sturdy and strong on his feet to be knocked off that easily! His vines crack throwing the ball low and hard to skip off the water and hopefully zoom past the Sloking for a goal.

Eva barely noticed that he asked her something, "Oh! I'm sorry," she laughs, "I was really into this!" she points towards the game, "Oh, yeah, it's a lot of work, especially when you're being pulled in several directions," With multiple research projects, sometimes it was hard to balance them all efficiently, "What do you do?"

Hell yeah! Eva pumps a fist into the air, “Good job guys!” Raiden shakes off the excess water and starts making his way back to their starting positions.

Their lead is short lived. As they started setting up again, the buzzer sounds without warning. Buck is ready enough to shoot out some vines but he’s a second too slow. The buzzer sounds again.

POINT KILLIAN!

“Well damn, that was fast,” she laughs. This time her pokemon get ready quicker. By the time the ball is placed in the center, Raiden uses another AGILITY to spring himself forward. Buck distracts the Sloking with a set of LEAF BLADES so it doesn’t immediately grab the ball with Psychic.

“Hm, that’s interesting. Can’t say I’ve ever met an information broker before,” In all honesty, she’s not even sure what that means.

Eva laughs and shakes her head, “I don’t micromanage,” she says it as if it’s a bad thing. Sometimes, it is. She doesn’t enjoy micromanaging her people and they certainly don’t enjoy being micromanaged.

The Leaf Blade is shoved back with Psychic, but the strategy worked to keep the Sloking off the ball. Raiden is quick, but so is the Scisor. Bullet Punch is quicker. Raiden pivots, hurling his tail around again to hit the ball back at the opponent while with a SLAM.

The ball is successfully spiked across the goal line. Another buzzer sounds.

POINT KILLIAN

The Shadow Ball soars past the Gogoat which jumps to another platform with a snort. It’s time to reset. Only one more point and the opponent wins. Damn. They had to be quick!

Raiden and Buck take their positions. Another AGILITY springs Raiden forward, aiming to SLAM the ball at the opponent’s goal right off the bat.

Eva shrugs, “Not offended, it’s just something I don’t do,” she places her hands on her hips, not seeming phased by the fact that her pokemon may lose this. It looked like they were having fun, at least.
