from his backpack, he pulls out a thin laptop. it's chrome-like design is sleek and smooth, but otherwise nothing special, even as he attaches a few more USB attachments to it, including a small square device to prevent any bottlenecking. it won't be the same as working from home, but will be sufficient nonetheless.

[break][break] as he's working on this, there is a small shinx that peeks out from a nearby bush. it looks enviously at the pokemon scampering about, finding itself staring forlornly at a family that he has never gotten the chance to have. eventually, he gathers his courage and hobbles forward on his paws towards jayden's blanket.

[break][break] all the pokemon stop at noticing the wild pokemon. even freek and vikhor stop their tussling to stare suspiciously at the pokemon.

[break][break] jayden's busy typing away at his keyboard when the pokemon approaches, and he blinks in surprise. he then stares at the pokemon for another moment, appraising, before patting the blanket in assent. the pokemon's leg is injured — it'll need tending to.

[break][break] he reaches into a nearby first-aid kid to wrap the injured paw in some bandages.

[attr="class","littlejay"] he's able to bandage up the shinx in no time at all and almost as soon as he does, the pokemon erupts into a purring frenzy. the cat rubs itself against jayden's leg in affection, so much so that jayden has no choice but to capture it. he releases it moments later, and it finds a warm spot on the blanket, laying it's against jayden's thigh.

[break][break] the peace is only momentary, however.

[break][break] a cacaphony of barks and screeches race through the air as a shiny furfrou out of apparently nowhere crashes into the blanket and snatches away one of the picnic sandwishes. jayden's thievul and sableeye give a furious chase, but in the end it's his malamar that saves the day. it descends on the thief with psycho cut and night slash, objective in it's cruelty.

[break][break] the fainted pokemon arrives like a dinner plate onto the blanket moments later, and jayden has to withhold a sigh.

[break][break] this was why he was not a dog person.

[attr="class","littlejay"] eventually, they are able to clean up from the mess that the wild furfrou had wrought. jayden brings out his laptop to look at the most recent rocket files that had fallen into his jurisdiction, tapping through the screen appropriately. of course, he did not have as much clearance as he would've liked — but this isn't why he's here today. he taps through the screen a couple of more times, only to start on the research.

[break][break] meanwhile, his pokemon are enjoying the summer air. for once, the day is bright but not filled with sweltering heat.

[break][break] a wild meowth comes hidden out of the bushes, curious, and eventually joins them in their games.

[break][break] it's only after jayden finishes typing up a report that he decides to capture it.

[attr="class","littlejay"] it's not too long after that that jayden finishes his report and their picnic is nearly done. all the pokemon fed and properly exercised, jayden returns the majority of them back to their pokeballs and gathers his belongings. he leaves lada and hesus out, however, as well as his thievul and sable-eye.

[break][break] from their location, he decides to head eastward, towards a collection of rocks that lead further down the beach.

[break][break] as he does so, he sees a stray electrike walking down the path. his thievul nearly chases after it, but a sharp whistle from jayden has him returning to his side. they walk further along, ignoring the canine.

[break][break] after all, jayden was not quite a dog person.

[attr="class","littlejay"] along the way, the parade of swirlex come floating through. putting a hand in front of him, jayden waits for them to pass.

[break][break] one of the swirlix drifts away from the group, caught by a dandelion in the wind. it's cute — but not cute enough. jayden lets them pass, before finding his way down a cliffside.

[break][break] he removes his backpack and begins to change his supplies to something more suited to rock-climbing gear.

[break][break] just another training session, nothing new.

[attr="class","littlejay"] jayden had never been a big fan of rats, and especially since Killian Decker had gifted him one for his team not too long ago, it doesn't concern the rocket beast as he watches one of them skitter along the edge of a rock. the pokemon squeaks as a heavy breeze threatens to knock him over, and jayden quickly grabs him by the waist to prevent him from plunging over the edge. he encourages the small pokemon to dart into the safety of some nearby pushes with a slight push of his hand.

[break][break] afterwards, he begins to climb the rocks in front of him, reaching for the first foothold that he finds.
