melody will correct him. probably. it's just too much to talk a lot in the heat, unlike melody who can do it very well. maybe she practiced going to saunas a lot, which kyle didn't since he already lives on hoenn.

"did you feed it before you got kidnapped? oh, the boss will get mad at you if you left it starving for a whole week."

he'd ask why it's still in her possession when it's been the second time she got knocked out by rocket, but that was a question left for dahlia. besides, third times the charm so it won't in their third attempt, right?

somehow, he gets roped in to the conversation about serious things. it would be awkward to just stare even if he's not interested, so he throws his two cents.

"best bet is to find an excuse to execute a search by the sea," kyle suggests. "it's too risky to touch rocket right now, especially after sootopolis."

hoenn was a mix of too passive and too aggressive. kyle has gotten used to the system of waiting for something to happen before doing something, and then going all out once the opportunity is there.

"i'll just put it out there since i won't be able to suggest this in a serious talk, but framing them so we can make our move is the fastest way."

kyle's kidding, of course, but he wouldn't be opposed to that either.

"two things. a, that's not going to matter, and b, that's a waste of time and effort."

the gym leaders mentioned were people he met before, but that position carries less and less significance to kyle as he settles with the new culture hoenn is culminating. competence of each leader to make it possible is arbitrary when random, unpredictable events, most of them featuring pokemon of legends or other supernatural phenomenon, keep messing up with the end result.

he might as well say a random trainer that just started their journey may as well have the same impact as him during times of crises if luck favors the other over him.

"no news, but it's better that way. they weren't doing anything to the region before we provoked them anyways."

he's not sure why they did the thing on sootopolis with the lighthouse anyways.

turning from melody to matias, he shrugs his shoulders as he gives his answer.

"have some prominent sootopolis figure get allegedly kidnapped by them to turn their supporters against them? i don't think they loved melody and the previous gym leader, balder, enough for that. don't quote me on that. for the record, i was kidding. if under due circumstances it happens, it's merely a coincidence and not an actual plot by me."

league should always be aware of intelligence leaks, personnel loyalty, the public image, the law, internal and external affairs, and others. an organization such as rocket isn't restricted with those subjects.

sweet, innocent melody. war between crime and justice was always in the favor of the former. he's not going to remind her that though since he finds her reaction amusing.

he turns to matias afterwards and ponders upon his request. "well, if you want to, sure. no promises though." dahlia most likely will approve the meeting. a chance for a decent plan is also there. for kyle, it's the execution that he finds iffy.

this is dahlia. she probably thinks the same and will stall until the conditions are right. it's just a matter of whether she's desperate enough or not.
