Killian lifted a leg onto the bench and leaned forward, arms wrapping around the appendage. "I don't mind talking about it. I'm sure you have questions." who wouldn't have them in a situation like this?

Damn. Lis went straight for the hard stuff. She didn't hesitate for a second to ask him such a haunting question. Killian stifled a chuckle. She's his sister, alright.

An urge to lie slivered down Killian's tongue at a compelling pace, begging him to shield Lis from the truth of how deep he'd fallen. "What good would it do?" he asked himself. She'd find out the truth eventually, and lying about it now would only do damage later.

Blue-hues stared into her dark blue orbs. Apathy still sees his expression covered in ice but deep below, burning faint in his voice is pain.

"I have - several times."

The truth is a blunt hammer that's swung hard.

"Does that change how you feel about me?" did it make her hate him?

Truthfully, murder was the least of Killian's crimes. He thinks of that night at the warehouse with THEO BECKETT. When he'd heard Kaito's name and scrambled that League's officers brain looking for answers.

Did doing worse diminish the impact of the original sin? No, but it might explain the apathy. Yet it spoke nothing of the pain, of the hurt that trembled his voice recalling what he'd done.

Killian frowned.

Killian did enough of that with the people he cared for already. And he did care for Lis in his own strange way. They were blood. While that meant little when it came to his father, the man who'd chosen to run, Lis wasn't him. She deserved a chance.[break][break]

"What do you mean, strangers? You already know more about me than anyone else in Hoenn." he smiled, a soft chuckle rocking his chest as the stream raised around him. The question silences his laugh, however. It's a tricky one to answer. He'd just told her he didn't want to lie, but how would she react if Killian told her the truth?

"I know a lot, Lis. I've been watching you for a while. All those customers that came in buying the same thing? Those were my people."

He knew of the bills but not the cause. Despite the hungry urge to dig, Killian kept himself from going any deeper. Much like with Alexandra Briarwood, he wanted Lis to trust him enough to share.

"Do you need money, Lis?" Killian asked. "If so, I can take care of it." anything to lessen the burden she felt on her shoulders.

His eyes dart down at her joke. The death of her? Tightness gripped his face. Painful memories and feelings he hadn't thought of in ages rush to the surface.

"I'm sorry."

It's the only thing he can think to say.

He sighed.

"That's nice to hear but you know why I'm apologizing." because he'd dragged her into his world. The Decker Darkness. Killian pulled Lis into it whether she liked it or not.

Maybe he should have stayed away. If he had, then Lis wouldn't have to worry about shouldering his secrets on top of her burden.
