"Rain, rain, go away! Come again uhm... not tomorrow or next Tuesday or uhm... Momma, when are we going exploring again??"

Cinnamon and lavender fill the air, a sweet mix that seems to cover every corner of the room. Amidst the pattering rain, a soothing lullaby rings, hands carefully wrapping around and lifting her from her little perch.

"Next Friday, Eri. We're heading out to the flower fields so your big brother and pa can test light the fireworks."

She blinks as a finger gently boops her nose, gingerly grabbing at it and giggling when she finds it poking her forehead instead.

"Big brother's gonna be home right?? Cos he promised! Biggest pinky promise! He promised to Resh- Rashi..."

"Reshiram..."

"Yeah! The tooth dragon!"

"The truth dragon, yes Eri... The white dragon that tells no lies. The tooth dragon... might just be a pokemon that no one's discovered yet~"

Lenore smiles with every word that her daughter stumbles over, nudging her in the right direction but never quite sweeping away her mistakes. She watches as her child's heart swells with such happiness, excitement brewing with the prospect of adventure laid before her.

"When I grow up, I'm gonna go looking for the tooth dragon!! And the truth dragon!"

"All by yourself?" She laughs, tucking loose strands of hair behind Eris' ears.

"No! I'm going with Reiner!"

The Shinx calls out with a mighty yowl, puffing his chest out even as he rubs against Lenore's legs.

"He can come too if he doesn't hold us back!"

Razz was never much of a heavy sleeper. Not since he was a kid and was harshly taught the lesson that if you were a deep sleeper you might as well be dead. So Eris' muffled distress was enough to wake him. He looks over to the bed of the motel as its seems like a dream is distressing her. The ex-rocket thinking back on old conversations of theirs, about nightmares and he wonders if he could do anything. He thinks back to the Musharna he was able to capture and ponders if she could help. For a moment he thinks back to how zenji jabami helped him and wonders for just a moment if he could do the same for Eris. [break][break]

What was the worst that could happen right? [break][break]

Maybe he's being careless as he calls for the dream pokemon. He just hopes for once his good intention could finally end well. He ends up pulling up a chair before allowing sleep to hit. See just what's going on that could cause distress. [break][break]

Oddly enough nothing really seems distressing at first. The only thing around just seems like forest, red eyes look up as the rain is pooring, maybe the only clue he'll get to Eris' distress as he takes in his surroundings. The forest feeling familiar, of a place he once called home. [break][break]

Razz shakes his head of those thoughts, right now his goal was Eris. Though as he opens his eyes again he notices something. He can see properly again. Trying to make sure it wasn't just his imagination he closes his left eye yet his vision is still there. He touches his face and everything feels normal. Or abnormal due to the lack of scar that was on his face. He looks down to see himself as he wasn't standing as tall as he was used to. And while there were probably 1001 ways this could be explained. He just reminds himself of one thing: This is a dream world. [break][break]

And it could be dangerous if the professor was to be believed.

Before Razz even has the chance to fully take in his surroundings, he'll find a poncho gently draped over his shoulders, a small tug of the hood deflecting the last bits of rain before a hand gently pats his head.

"You know that storms can be dangerous, especially if you go out without a raincoat." The man kneels down to his eye level, seemingly checking over the boy for something, only pulling away in satisfaction when he finds no scrapes or bruises. "Don't know what misadventures you were up to today, but I sure hope you didn't bring your sister and Reiner with you in this weather. Arceus knows that's how they got lost the last time and ended up crying the whole night after we found them."

He then offers a hand, waiting for Razz to take it as he jerks his head towards the edge of the woods.

"Cmon, you can continue exploring once the sky clears. For now, we should probably get back before Eri starts throwing a tantrum again."
[break][break]
Their destination wouldn't be too far of a walk after that, overgrown grass patches soon turning to a muddy dirt path laid with wooden planks. Further ahead are patches of blooming flowers, their colours significantly strengthened by the rain drops that sit upon them and defining the winding dirt path back home. Creepers and vines decorate the brick walls, glass windows slightly fogged up from the inside as light gently flickers within.

Finneas smiles, ushering Razz under the shelter of the front porch as he reaches into his pocket and looks for something. It isn't too long after that he retrieves a key, with what seems to be a crudely crafted feather charm attached to it by string.

The young man can't help but jump as suddenly he feels something put on him. Old habits make him panic as well as zenji jabami's words ringing through his head about how the dream land could be dangerous to the visitor. Though rather than any pain, or hostility, he's met with a friendly face, one that had some familiarity but he couldn't exactly place where. At least not until Reiner's name is mentioned. And while his head is directly thinking of the Luxray, it also meant Eris and he feels that's where the recognition might be coming from, but he wasn't completely sure, "Uhhhhh.... noooooo?" he mutters unsure of what else to say. Part of him looking like a deer in headlights as he wasn't sure. [break][break]

Maybe he should just play along for now, as he doesn't want to break the reality in the dream space. [break][break]

Razz looks to the offered hand, to the man, and back to the hand, "Yes sir," he says before taking it and following along, his own habits with his parents carrying through. For now he follows looking at the house in the woods. Trying to pretend to not be confused as whoever this guy was was mistaking him for another. Though this was Eris' dream so he'd play along. [break][break]

Though at the mention of home he thinks he finally gets what all this is. "Home?" he can't help but repeat and his head is running a mile a minute. "Uhhh it's nice!" because that's what not awkward people say right?

There's a moment of silence that falls between them, and for some reason, Finneas begins to tear up. "Imagine my baby girl not calling me pa like she does now... I COULDN'T BEAR THE THOUGHT!"

Perhaps, eccentricity simply runs in the family.

"And what do you mean it's nice? It's beautiful, especially with that mural you three drew in the back."

Before the man can even hope to insert the key into the lock, the door is pulled open with a squeal, a tiny figure slipping through the cracks and leaping at Razz for a hug.

"Big brother! Where were you?? I couldn't find you in your room but momma said I couldn't go out cos it was raining suuuuuuper hard!" Her words feel so cluttered, perhaps even said with a little bit of a lisp as she stumbles over her pronunciations. "Reiner and I were getting ready to sneak out and find you though!! We thought you were hiding in our super secret place!"

"Alright, Eri. Give him some space..." Kindness shines in her eyes, her hands gently peeling the toddler from the boy as she places a towel over Eris. "Don't forget to hang your poncho by the door! You should probably take a bath and warm up too! And you, Big Bear. Go dry up before you start dripping all over the floor!"

"B- but where's my hug..."

However, that kindness only goes that far, another towel thrown in Finneas' face as mother and daughter duo stick their tongue out at him.

Of course, it never takes long for Eris to slip from her parent's grasp, a bright smile colouring her features as she reaches for Razz's hand. Reiner is quick to follow, rubbing against his leg and purring as his tail curls around his arm.

"Did you see anything cool out there today? Like uhm... the mysterious Tooth Dragon! Momma said it hasn't been found, so I wanna find it! But if you found it first... then I can't find it first!!"

"I... uhhhh...." he's hesitant with the way he seems to already be making mistakes. He wants to do better but he don't know how as clearly he's making the man tera up by addressing him as 'sir.' Part of him wonders if it's just a him thing, or was addressing one's father as 'sir' just not the norm? Thankfully his time alone with the other has be interrupted by an even tinier Eris that comes pouncing at him. He tenses at the hug feelingly slightly over whelmed with all the information he was having to take in, even seeing Reiner as a Shinx was throwing him off. [break][break]

At least the blond hair woman seemed to rescue him and actually gave him something he could follow, orders. "Yes ma'...." he's quick to stop himself, "uhhh Ma," because he is sure calling her ma'am would be a big no no. So he does as told, well at least about removing the poncho before Eris takes his hand and Razz listens in. Wondering if she understands what's going on. But of course, she doesn't. He inwardly sighs but smiles anyways, he could do this. [break][break]

"Tooth Dragon?" he questions not entirely sure what she meant, "Nah nothing as exciting as that, and I was looking for other secret places, cause I think uhh.. pa," he has to pause for a second because that feels so odd to say, "Might be on to us"[break][break]

Who said he couldn't play pretend?

This sensation of being able to quip back at any moment, the ability to ask questions whenever she wants to and receive answers that she'd never think of - Eris finds comfort in being able to cling to those she's familiar with, listening close to Razz's words as he leans in.

"Did he find our secret hideout?" She's whispering back, trying her best to keep a serious face but breaking into a smile each time she tries. "If he finds it, he'll find all our secret stuff! And we might hafta start our research all over again!"

How curious of a child she must be, to be gathering secrets and chasing after legends in her own way. But she isn't one to miss the pointed look that Lenore shoots her, sheepishness overtaking her as she points towards the stairs.

"Momma's gonna start fussing if you don’t go take a shower first… but after you do, you gotta tell me all about what you found out there! And then I can show you the treasure map I drew today! I think it's super extra cool!"

Red eyes narrow at the ‘tooth’ thing again. Not sure what she meant until the mother explained it and his mouth one ‘o’ shaped in understanding. Though his brows can’t help but narrow more as he pouts some. Wondering if she actually wanted to see it, or if his influence here affected it. [break][break]

“I don’t know about the whole truth dragon, I hear they can be a bit of a jerk,” and thankfully opinions were objective and had no real truth. Otherwise he’s sure his mouth would burn from that. Though he is smiling lightly as he says this as it's more of a joke for her, and also showing that somewhat the Dragon was growing on him. [break][break]

He leans in lightly as she attempts to talk about her secrets. Not ignorant to the fact that they’re probably making it more obvious, but they’re kids, or Eris is here at least. “Don’t worry I think he only got close,” [break][break]

Razz looks to the stairs, then to the mother, back to Eris, and then the mother, “Do I really have to shower?” because taking a shower in a dream sounded weird.

Seeing Razz's awkward defiance, Eris begins to push him gently towards the stairs, giving her mother a few words of reassurance as they slip straight out of view. Once they're halfway up the steps, she stops pushing, waiting for Reiner to lead the way up as she hastily follows suit.

"Don't drip water all over the floor." She whispers, resting her hand on the door handle and quietly turning it. "Momma's pretty sharp at catching stuff like that."

With a solid push, her sanctuary is revealed - Pictures and world maps are plastered across the walls, hefty books lined up neatly on the low shelves or left open amidst the writing instruments and empty sheets of paper on the floor. A telescope sits next to a window decorated by fairy lights, adjusted to face the skies for whenever they darken. Just slightly above her window is a wooden platform, easily climbed by the attached rope ladder and leading to a small door in the wall.

"The tooth dragon is a meanie? Momma never told me anything about that!" Flopping onto her bed, Eris laughs when Reiner leaps to join her, nuzzling his head into her chest. Moments later, he'll drag a Corsola doll over, dropping it into her lap before reaching out for his ball of yarn. "One day, I'm gonna see it for myself! And you can tag along, I guess. As long as you don't drag me and Reiner down!"

Without warning, she sits up, snapping her fingers as if trying to remember something (but failing miserably at making any sound).

"Oh, but we gotta go find Lugia first! I drew a whooooole map of Hoenn and marked out the places that she could be hiding! After that, we can go looking for your favourite one! Not too sure where it's hiding though..."

Like before Razz just allows himself to be pushed around. Trying to make it clear that he wasn't here to fight anything here in the dream and just go along with things. Heading up the stairs and giving a small smile at her about the drips of water. "Don't worry I'll keep it hidden," he tries to play along, though he does look back to be sure. [break][break]

He walks into the room almost surprised with how much character the room seemed to have. Between the drawings, the maps and books it showed just how curious of a kid Eris was. Part of him wondered if she had something like this now, he knows over at his place its all pretty bare, now a bit more than ever now that he can't even go home. He tries to get that fact out of his head as she talks about Reshiram again and all he could give her is a shrug. "I don't know seems like the type to almost make sure you don't lie, so would wash your mouth with soap if you did like if you cuss," he attempts to joke. Wondering if she was old enough for this kind of information. Oops if not.[break][break]

"Me hold you back? Wouldn't dream of it, maybe I'll just steal your bed here," he'll lean against it to sit on the side, "Lay back while you can go hang out," though his smile can't help but faulted at the mention of Lugia. Thinking of his encounter with Cillian Quinn and how complicated that was in more ways than one. So he rather push the topic else where, "Well first off, Lugia has been said to be most seen in Johto," he goes in a matter of fact-ly tone because he recalls doing his own research as a kid when they were told they were going to be heading to Johto. "Oh my favorite legend huh? And just who is your big bro's favorite?" once more he is curious of its him she knows or if he is currently playing the part of his 'big brother' character.

His retorts are met with a childish raspberry, her arms carefully wrapping around Reiner as he lightly nudges her back to their bed.

"Johto had the story of the resurrection, I think? A phoenix that saved the three unnamed pokemon." Resting her head against the Shinx's back, Eris watches Razz with a mild look of confusion. "Your favourite? Wouldn't you know that best though?" Something gnaws at her from the inside but she isn't quite sure what it is. "You were the one that told me about Maggie in all your bedtime stories..."

Cussing was bad, that was a new one for him as when he was a kid his mother would cuss up a storm when they were home or on missions. Honestly the only reason he didn’t pick it up as much he believes is only because he was around his father mostly. And his father was always about how cussing wasn’t needed in a professional unless something really went wrong. So Razz can’t help but just blink at the jar she shows him, ”Damn,” he comments in surprised with how much was in there but then it occurs to him. Did ‘damn’ count as a cuss? [break][break]

Though at the topics of legends he is confused about the whole ‘Maggie’ he just gives her a cheeky smile, ”I would, but big bro wants to see if you’ve been paying attention,” he tells her playfully still seeing if he couldn’t make a small grab for more information. See what this ‘brother’ of hers was like and what she was expecting from him in some ways.

When she hovers over to her desk again, her hands are quick to grab at a journal, leather peeling gently from the edges as flipped pages hold minor signs of char. The first few pages are filled with pictures, hazy as she flips quickly past them. The next are neatly written words in blocks, each somehow relating to a picture or illustration tagged in the book. And when she reaches the centre, the organised notes have seemed to devolved into carefully compiled messes, a less cursive handwriting featured upon the paper.

Past bleeds into present and present blends into past, there are many folktales and legends written within the book but also many more strange notes that don't seem to fit. Yveltal, Trees of Life and Infinity energy, Meltan morphology and shadow Lugia snippets - Knowledge she's gathered from her own experience hide between the lines but Eris doesn't seem to notice anything weird about it.

"You said that one day, we're gonna travel the world with momma and pa. So we gotta learn whatever we can... I know how to make my own sandwiches! And I've even learnt how to tie my shoelaces! Two bunny ears! Just like you taught me!!"

Her smile falters but she doesn't quite know why. Something is wrong. Something doesn't fit. Something shouldn't be here. There's a hint of confusion but it flickers and fades as soon as it appears.

"Uhhh," Razz just pulls out his pockets showing her that he had nothing there and he gives a bit of a smile, "Uhhh how about an I.O.U?" he questions her as he clearly doesn't have any money on him. Maybe her brother's room would have one, if there was a room as he wasn't sure if the brother he was playing was real or not. His smile widens a bit more at her with how excited she was. And he finds her innocents at the time cute, something he could only wish he had. [break][break]

Though as she gives him the book his smile can't help but faulter as his eyes narrow. Reading it near impossible as this is a dream but the pictures are all very current. Especially with the Shadow Lugia, though some he is less familiar with, mostly the tree and the Red bird like creature. Maybe it might be worth to go under cover to try and see what he could find. He wants to question more but he knows he can't, now while they're here in this dream where she could become unstable. And then who knows what would happen, especially after the warnings from zenji jabami. [break][break]

Though his smile returns at her as he makes sure to try and play the 'big brother' roll. "Right the loop de loop and pull, so your shoes are looking cool," he replies in a someone singsongy voice as he knwos its something he heard on TV with Salem before from some old cartoon. "You learn so quickly you know that? I bet you're going to be super smart by the time you're my age"
