The questions she ask him hurt. Hurt because he already knows the truth about what happens to her parents and he's currently keeping it from her so her dream would be pleasant. And partially because there is a bit of it that reminds him of his own interactions with his brother. How it was suppose to be them against everyone else. Until the other didn't think so anymore. Just showed how time and time again family would do nothing but let you down. Though at least in Eris' case, it wasn't from fault of their own. [break][break]

Though he doesn't want to be the same deal breaker his family had been to him, so he smiles. [break][break]

"Not if you don't want to go alone," he admits as he decides to go along with his own intentions, "But all the small chance you do know that I'll wait for ya," talking like this felt really weird, but he had to go all in with his positive acting as he couldn't half ass it. "As for Ma I'm sure as long as she's able to bring ya along she will." [break][break]

Not that will last very long sadly. God his mouth was burning. "You have water in here?"

In that very sense, this ever familiar scene does wonders in sweeping that nagging sensation in the back of her mind.

"Yeah, you're right! We promised!" Reaching for Razz's hand, Eris smiles ever so brightly. "If I ever get lost, you'll find me where the flowers grow!"

Flipping her notebook to its final page, she seems to pull a pencil from under her pillow and scribbles something down before quickly shutting it tight. And with that, Reiner takes the chance to bite down on her clothes, gently shaking it and looking towards the door. It clicks open and for a moment, Eris' grip on Razz's hand tightens ever so slightly.

"Should have known that you two would be hiding here." Lenore sighs and rolls her eyes, pushing her way in with a tray of cookies and milk. Placing it down on the table, she turns to the two and ruffles their hair. A Cyndaquil quietly waddles in after her, climbing onto the bed and resting his head on Razz's lap as he begins to emanate a gentle heat from his body. "Your pa got a little worried that you'd be stubborn as always, so just sit there and let Nova warm you up."

As she hums, Lenore passes a cookie to Razz before turning to help Eris with her cup of milk.

"Where the flowers grow, got it promise," he says with a wink, pausing only when he hears the click of the door and part of him can't help but grow a bit nervous. Being in a younger body just reminds him of much colder days and he knows his family was far different from Eris'. For one thing, he would never trust anything his mother put in the oven. Not to mention if she had a pokemon out it was always something to be nervous about. So he can't help but tense up as their 'ma' had her cyndaquil. [break][break]

But if working for Rocket has taught him anything it, it was how to keep up an act. [break][break]

"Yes ma," he agrees though he doesn't feel he needs it as his hands always feel warm. He does put up a finger to his mouth as it going a 'shh' motion, "Sorry but its a of a brother sister secret," he jokes before looking to Eris, and a thought occurs. He just hope it doesn't backfire too badly.[break][break]

"Hey ma uhh Eris did bring up a point though, say we went on an adventure with you and something goes wrong as we get separated from you and pa or something like that," because sadly he knows that will happen and maybe this dream version of her mom could possibly guide Eris in a way, "What should we do?"

In this very case, Lenore pauses when she looks at Razz, as if catching onto that faint thread of nerves being unravelled. And with that, she slowly offers an open hand to the boy and smiles, waiting patiently for some kind of response.

Should he ever dare to take her hand, she'll simply hold it and give it a light squeeze, comforting in her own way without ever pushing into the personal boundaries he's set up.

"It sounds like you're already thinking of a bad future, and I can't say I'd blame you... the world isn't perfect or kind. Sometimes, families just don't work right or things just crash down... That's what makes the people and pokemon in your life all the more important."

She soon does the same for Eris, the warmth of her hands bringing a small sense of comfort to her rattling heart.

"Family exists in the weirdest of ways and you'll begin to realise that blood isn't the only thing that ties people together. Love, hope, dreams for a better day..." Quietly, she tries to reach over, pulling them into a gentle hug. "You've been through a lot, haven't you, my children?"

Her voice grows so fragile, as if waiting to be shattered and then disappear.

"I'm sorry that life hasn't been kind... I'm so sorry that I couldn't be there for you... I wish I could protect you like I always do..."

That hug grows just that little bit tighter, as if she's anticipating that she might never see them again.

The young man seems confused as the women he pretended to be 'ma' offered a hand to him. A large part of him unsure because of his own trust issues with his own mother figure. Though at the same time he feels like he might break something in this dream if he doesn't go along with it. So against his usual habit he hesitantly gives it.[break][break]

Though what comes next isn't something he is prepared for. The words cut deep and the hug makes him tense. The words hurt because life definitely has felt hard every step of the way, and things still didn't feel easy. Though he has to bite his lip as she claims they weren't mistakes, something that clearly hit a nerve of his as he made a noise that made him almost want to choke up. But he swallow's his pain like he has been raised to do. [break][break]

"It's... not like... it's your fault..." he struggles with his words because he is trying not to choak up at what he thinks is what a kind mother's words feels like.

Eris snuggles up to her mother tighter than ever, unwilling to let go or even look at the door. The thought that Razz brings up only sows dread within her heart, a frown tugging at her lips as she nervously chews at it.

"You're not leaving, are you? A- and I don't have to leave either?" She asks, but there's a plea that tremours in her voice. "We're gonna make pancakes for breakfast tomorrow... and go climbing trees... and tonight, there's gonna be a lot of stars for us to see and paint..."

And if she stayed, they'd get to do fun things every day. She'd get to live the life she always wanted and never have to face mental strains or anguish. And who is Lenore to deny the wishes of her young child, to rip the love she craves away from her?

"Alright then, Eris. You can stay as long as you like." She smiles, calloused fingers carefully running through her daughter's hair as she looks to Razz. "Both of you, to be more accurate. Stay for as long as you'd like."
