It was still so weird seeing trees everywhere. Sure, Unova had it's forests, but Izzy never had to money to be out and about climbing trees and running through fields, and so moving to Hoenn had been quite the culture shock. It became easy to ponder this kind of stuff when sat waiting for Pepper to chew whatever wild pokemon he'd come across in the nearby grass. Izzy could see his little black-and-white tail dive through the undergrowth and between trees every so often[break][break]

"C'mon, I'm not waiting around all day so you can bite every damn thing you see in there-"[break]
He didn't even look up from scrolling at his phone - he'd hear when Pepper came back, after all, the damn thing grumbled and snarled like it had asthma.

It didn't take long for Pepper to turn back up, chewing at the bottoms of Izzy's jeans as his stupid way of saying look what I found! - it wasn't too uncommon, usually ended up in Izzy throwing some ruffled Pidgey back out to it's mates, but when he looked up at the prize his oh-so-delighted Zigzagoon had brought him...[break][break]

"Oh, fuck, uh-- sorry, erm-- sorry, ma'am, no harm done-" A whole-ass Nidoqueen had been bullied into stepping out into the clearing, frowning at Pepper and, then, at Izzy; who had now raised his hands to indicate he most certainly did not want any trouble from this giant lady.[break][break]

Turning his attention back to Pepper, Izzy flicked the little nuisance's ear. "Don't go bringing back big fuckers like that with no warning, you want me to get double kicked? Fuck's sake-"

This time, instead, Pepper headbutted out a half-asleep Poochyena. Maybe he was trying to act more Hoenn-y? He'd never met one before back in his home of Galar, so Izzy couldn't help but think maybe he was trying to act like the brown Zigzagoon here. Made him smile, just a little, and since the Poochyena in question seemed so groggy anyways, it seemed a good idea to maybe try and get Pepper a friend. He unclipped a pokeball from his belt and threw it towards the sleepy puppy.[break][break]
