With the danger of pirates subverted, the oceans around Sea Mauville calm once more. Yet, there is something that UNNERVES Lugia, and therefore Gavin as well. Something stirs in the darkness below, far deeper than most Pokémon ever dared to go. A PRIMORDIAL DREAD emanates from the abyss, inviting you to stare deeper despite your instinct to turn away.

Visions of AN EYE appear in your mind, watching you through fathoms of crushing blackness. Although you aren't physically bound, you feel ETHEREAL TENDRILS slip from the abyss, grasping and beckoning you deeper into the water.

Perhaps due to your connection with Lugia, these feelings are fleeting. You're able to break this ELDRITCH HOLD over your mind within moments, shaken and uncertain of what lies in the domain of your legend.

The oceans were calm around Sea Mauville, an almost EERIE quality to it's stillness. A glance upwards would note the absence of Wingull circling overhead, roosts on the facility abandoned as the aquatic Pokémon were driven out of the area. You can't help but feel as though coming here might have been a mistake, but it was far too late to TURN BACK.

Your vessel comes to an eventual halt, preparing to dispense the promised payload. The creaks and groans of Sea Mauville could be heard on the wind, as well as another UNRECOGNIZABLE SOUND. A soft droning sound filled the air, slow and quiet at first, before becoming more NUMEROUS. It wasn't until you glanced over the edge of the ship that you realized the source.

HUNDREDS of crimson orbs shone from underneath the surface of the water, bulbous heads breaching the surface one by one as they attempted to enact a PSYCHIC HOLD over the vessel and it's crew. Metal on the ship began groaning, small dents appearing on the surface as it appeared the Pokémon were looking to crush the ship inwards, SINKING it in the process.

THE MASSIVE CACHE OF EXPLOSIVES were the first thing to cross your mind. What would happen should one of these creatures manage to detonate one? Time was of the essence.

CROSSING THE THRESHOLD SENDS A SHIVER DOWN YOUR SPINE, although you'd expected the presence of ghost-type Pokémon, there was an almost sinister energy that permeated the ruins. You feel a thousand eyes on you, all of them invisible, watching and waiting for their opportunity to drag you to the depths and add you to their ranks. A HAUNTING WAIL emanates from the cavernous corridors, the product of dilapidated metal or the promised spirits that haunt this place?

Were you steeled enough to continue on, you'd find that the threat of the supernatural becoming more real from the moment. FACES DISTORTED IN AGONY appear in the darkness out of the corner of your eye, disappearing as soon as you look at them. Were they figments of your imagination, or something more?

When you come to the main atrium, water cascades all around you, rolling over ledges and staircases. Even with the constant noise, you aren't immune to the FOOTSTEPS approaching. A young girl down the stairs, one that Bryan would recognize immediately as none other than @soleil herself. "Did you come to be with me, big brother?" Her voice came out soft, matching her emaciated form. "I miss you so much." Yet, the figure that Eris sees is vastly different.

A MASS OF SHADOWS COALESCED into a singular form, deep crimson eyes trained on it's intended victim. "Please, I'm so lonely." Soleil called out to Bryan once more, holding out a hand. "We can be together again, just come with me. We'll be safe under the water...no one can hurt us there..."

Some MALEVOLENT FORCE was playing a cruel game with Bryan's mind, would he be able to resist, or will Eris be the one to make him see reality?

DATA DIVING

DARKNESS BECOMES MORE PREVALENT THE DEEPER YOU TWO DIVE, casting sinister-looking shadows off the bent and rusted metal structure of the facility. The data storage room had been sunken deep enough below the surface that previous considerations for recovery had been deemed unnecessarily dangerous, but in the name of Team Rocket there was VALUABLE INFORMATION to be found and you would persist through the hostile environment in search of these assets.

Finessing through the dilapidated skeleton of Sea Mauville was difficult, having become a winding series of passages of which most were submerged. SHARP PIECES OF METAL jutted out from the walls where the pressure collapsed the structure itself, making maneuvering between the plant-life a chore.

At last, you both surface in a pocket of air where rows of data centers were still humming with life. You'd find breathing here was difficult, the air stagnant and musty from having no proper flow of oxygen for years. Yet, you'd swear you saw something DART BETWEEN THE SERVER BANKS in the shadows. Closer inspection yields a horrifying result, a bloated and decayed corpse propped against one of the containers, strangely enough appearing to still be SLICK WITH WATER as though it'd recently been submerged.

CRIMSON EYES BEGIN TO GLOW in the darkness all around you, one set at first, then another, then a half-dozen more. Before you have a chance to retreat, the figures advance on you with predatory speed, a swarm of TENTACOOL ravenous and out for blood.

Or perhaps, a new host?

SALTY SOJURN

OCCUPIED OCEAN

Unease washes over you as you draw closer to the source of the sound, perhaps with the realization that what you'd heard before was distant screams. Yet, this is somehow less unsettling than the blood that stains the sand as you approach. On a cove, a fair distance from Dewford Town proper, only chaos can be found.

Bodies are strewn about the sands, all showing some signs of being horrifically mangled. It appears these beachgoers had been delivered an unfortunate fate, wrought at the hands of some manner of monster, one that would soon make itself known.

Twisted amalgamations, much like the ones encountered by Martín del Mar and bryan delarosa, shuffle their way out of the water. Fetid and bloated corpses being piloted by Tentacool, crimson eyes betraying the use of psychic powers to not only create a hive-mind but to shamble the bodies as they please. 

One by one, they begin to drag the bodies of their victims into the ocean, intending to create more of their demented kind. For the moment, they seemed to not have noticed your arrival among the carnage.

You know what you must do. This must be stopped, and covered up before the League catches wind.
