Well, that certainly was one way to look at it. Vio was not quite sure she shared it, mostly because she wasn’t one of these kinds of trainers that were constantly looking for new catches. Sure, she took some when they outright came across her like this. But she had not actually come here for the express purpose of catching. To her, a Will-O-Wisp was still something ghastly that led travelers to their doom.

Then again, they were the beacon here, so technically they were the doom. Ironically, strange chimes were often considered a similar omen – but when the nearby Chimecho that mostly was just trying to get past what was going on here made its signature sound, Poipole immediately lashed out and fired a Venoshock at it. Violet followed that up with another ball, once the floaty chime went down.

“That’s quite cocky. I mean, it’s fine as long as we just have a few incoming, but there are quite a few swarms this time of year. I would rather not pull one of those towards us.” Especially not at this time of year. Violet did not exactly fear individual ghosts or anything. But she…respected large groups of them, for certain.

"you sure? swarms can be quite fun to fend off."

they'll need more than just his orangurus and his haunter, though, but he'll worry about it if and when it happens. he doesn't think it will, however, as two pokemon of different species show up next.

the duskull's MEAN LOOK prevents them from simply passing by, so it forces his hand. a WILL-O-WISP and a few attacks from his orangurus later, and it's down on the ground, close to fainted.

“Emphasis on ‘can’, obviously,” she replied, dryly. Maybe it could be fun in the right circumstances, maybe with some allies. But he probably didn’t have a brush with death when being ambushed by a giant Jellicent on the sea. Vio did love ghosts for sure, but she also respected them. Almost all of them could have adverse effects on humans just by being nearby. A whole swarm of them was always dangerous.

One or two at a time were alright, though. Since her Poipole was a bit exhausted, she recalled it and brought out her Gardevoir – which immediately found itself using Psychic on a Mismagius appearing from behind, knocking the surprised ambusher out swiftly. Violet used another Pokeball as well. While ghosts in swarms could be dangerous, one could never have enough obscure ghastly ones with her, that much was for sure.

no, matias' experience with ghosts have been relatively tame thus far, but maybe that's about to change soon.

not with the sandygast, however, as that ghost-type looks harmless as heck. it might pulse its eyes in a HYPNOSIS, luring one of his oranguru to sleep, but the other two pokemon quickly gang up on it.

its IRON DEFENSE doesn't save it from being burned and from succumbing to sleep as well after a big YAWN.

It was not her intention, at the very least. Couldn’t be helped if he still ended up feeling that way, but what could a girl do?

Watching out for surprising Swoobats swooping overhead, that was what. Because that was what happened next. The thing almost took off the cowl of her coat as it went, but she did manage to duck in time. And when the flier turned around for another attempt, it found itself facing Gardevoir’s Hypnosis, quickly falling asleep mid-dive and thus, well, nose-diving right into the dirt. Another chance at a capture and Vio took it right away.

Well, since it was put to sleep, she figured that she would throw another ball. Worst case scenario, she would have one to give away later or something. “But yes, moisturizing is useful. Keeps the skin healthy. It doesn’t really matter if it is rosy as long as it is well taken care of otherwise, in my opinion.”
