The moment his feet touched something slippering, Hideo’s heart skipped a beat. His hands desperately flailed around to try and maintain balance, but it was losing game; his efforts only ensured that he’d continue to struggle as he slid along. He thought to call out to his Pokemon for help - but what were two tiny mice going to do to help him?

Fortunately, his hands managed to catch something, stopping his fall. It was soft, but a little cool.

And it didn’t sound happy. Whoops.

But before the Sneasel could start attacking, his own Pokemon struck first: a concentrated Charge Beam from his Dedenne and an Electro Ball from his Minun dispatched it quickly. Hideo was spared its claws, but now he was once again sliding along the ice.

Hideo could only pray in-between his quiet swearing that he’d find something less aggressive to stop himself with, before he fell.

Skipping

Hideo's face turned a rosy pink, both from the temperature and the adrenaline coursing through him as he struggled to stay upright. This was why he never liked ice rinks.

Fortunately, he found himself a stalagmite to grab on to, stopping his slide once more. It was cold to the touch, but that was better than a faceful of ice. Kind of a weird shape, though.

The stalagmite began to move. Hideo realized it wasn't actually a stalagmite. Uh oh.

But before the Bergmite's Ice Fang could reach him, a Thunder Wave from his Dedenne arrested its movement, paralyzing the ice-type. And before it could escape its paralysis, a Thunder bolt came down on it from his Minun, knocking the Pokemon out.

Hideo was once again safe from being attacked.

But when the Bergmite was shocked, its limbs flailed out, pushing Hideo once more along the ice.

Skipping

Once again, Hideo faced the struggle of not falling while sliding along ice, unsure of where he was headed while he did his best not to reach his destination on either his butt or his face.

But rather than find his next stop, the stop found him first; he felt large, stumpy limbs stop him. They weren't warm, but they weren't that cold either. He was quick to guess what had caught him: he had a Crabominable of his own.

But before he could thank it, he could hear the two mice rush towards him, the boy realizing what they thought was happening. He couldn't stop them in time, his Minun delivering a Spark to the Crabominable's face while the Dedenne got real close and Played Rough.

As before, the ice-type accidentally pushed Hideo along the ice once more. Just as the boy feared this would go on forever, he found an exit as his feet touched rocky ground.

Except as he tilted forward, he realized his momentum hadn't stopped. He stumbled forward, arms flailing as he tried to right himself, but it was a losing fight.

As gravity won, Hideo could only brace for the pain his face was about to take as he fell.

*squeak*

Except it landed on something fuzzy, warm, and round. Saved from facial trauma, Hideo pushed himself up, reeling the cushion unflatten and squeak, giggling as he heard it move away. With a sigh, the boy spoke as the Dedenne ran off to play some more: "Thanks, Squeakers."
