"i see," she murmurs softly. it's tentative, as if she doesn't quite know what to say. home, for her, is not missed, not in the way his is. "i'm sorry."

and before she can offer anything else, he's speaking to the approaching spritzee. the exchange allows for a small fond smile to root itself onto her face.

"aw, i think it might have a little crush on you," she giggles.

"would you like a kiss, too?"

asked playfully, of course, before he's interrupted by a scraggy trying its best to INTIMIDATE them. matias simply boops its head, then gestures over to heatran, who huffs in return, showing scraggy how it's really done.

as scraggy tries to run, it's hit by a pokeball.

it elicits a squeak from her lips. an embarrassing sort of sound left to linger between them.

and when wide eyes dart to find his, her face is a bright shade of pink... right up to the tips of her ears.

god, save her.

the cogs in her brain desperately try to churn the question into something coherent but they're struggling. and in her fluster, she misses the approach of a nidoqueen. it bumps her slightly as it shuffles along and she's stepping out of the way a moment too late after their bodies had already collided. oops?
