dunsparce (m) rattled - glare, double-edge, coil, drill run, magic coat, dual wingbeat

dunsparce are much bigger than he originally imagined. his own's about five foot tall and quite heavy. too heavy to be casually carrying it around like a backpack. so they walk beside each other instead, like one would a dog.

"fuck, is that you, gramps?"

it's been a few years at least but recognition comes easily this time.

Aside from the kids at the orphanage, there aren't many who call him Gramps.

but then again, it never really mattered. what mattered was that they were fighting the same war on the same side. that was more than enough for him.

smiling, he approaches, keen on giving waylon either a bro shake or a hug.

almost as spry as the lairon that appears, HEAD SMASHING its way towards them only to meet the steel wall that is dunsparce. dunsparce GLARES in return, slowing the lairon down enough for a pokeball to consume it.

the sight of the wild pawniard reminds him of Razz Kingsman, and of their battle at the tournament. he would've captured it for the young ranger but matias doesn't have one of his own. inspired by razz, he decides to take one in, perhaps to raise.

its LEER does little nothing against dunsparce's GLARE. paralyzed, it makes the capture real easy.

He'd let all the kids at the orphanage watch the HST. They'd gotten a real kick out of all the Pokemon battles. Some of them even reminded Waylon of himself with how enthusiastic they'd been.

waylon's a capable trainer. matias is sure he would've placed quite high on the leaderboards.

his attention's pulled away to something slithering towards them. his own dunsparce lurches forward, taking the SLAM attack with ease before once again returning with a GLARE. the sandaconda falls, paralyzed into a pokeball.
