Killian hadn't seen his sister since their hot spring trip. Between his admin duties and hunt for Deoxys, there wasn't much time in his life for socializing. Though he did keep in touch with the occasional phone call. All things considered, that was probably for the best. The further she was from his involvement with Rocket, the better. [break][break]

Yet it's unfair for him to barge into her life preaching family and then never visit. So here they are, walking the cavernous tunnels of Meteor Falls and basking in the echo of its waterfall. [break][break]

"Ever been spelunking before?" Killian looked in her direction, adjusting the backpack slung over his shoulders as he did. "This is my fifth time. It's dangerous but fun." [break][break]

While he conversed, the Metagross floating ahead of them kept its eyes peeled for trouble. So far, it had seen nothing out of the ordinary.

For all the awkwardness and unfamiliarity she claims there to be, Amaryllis really doesn't mind Killian's company. So when he finally asks if she has the time to go on a trip, she clears her schedule and makes thorough preparations for it - Some of which includes a basic first-aid kit, a flashlight, spare batteries, a spool of rope and homemade food for if they ever need to take a break. Overall, it's not too much when compared to those who overpack for every possibility, right?

Her answer sank the corner of Killian's lips. Lis's condition must make things like this impossible without someone around. How stupid of him to forget. "Well, we'll have to go sightseeing together more often then." he smiled to mask the frown, hoping she hadn't already seen it.[break][break]

"Looking for an alien." A ridiculous and out there reply that most might take as a joke. Killian said it so earnestly, however; voice absent anything resembling parody. "Or I was, at least." he added, glancing ahead.[break][break]

The search for Deoxys ended a month ago. Recalling their joining was nostalgic but terrifying at the same time.

One visited her store? Killian shook his head. That pretty much confirmed it. Martín del Mar knew about his sister. No wonder he'd been so cheeky when they met the other day. The admin clicked his tongue and stopped abruptly. [break][break]

"Mars is a friend. He brought me some cupcakes from your bakery a few days ago." [break][break]

He kicked up rocks as he turned to face Lis. Now the important bit. Did she tell Mars, or did he piece it together himself? A smile that didn't quite reach his eyes spread Killian's lips. [break][break]

"Quite the charmer, isn't he?"

As a drop of cold water splashes on her head, she looks up to the cavern ceiling and finally takes a chance to admire the stalactites. "Did you enjoy the cupcakes though? I wasn't sure what to make so I just made plain vanilla ones..."

It's the little details that matter, the happiness that she can bring to others that makes her day a little brighter each time. Without it, she honestly isn't sure where she'd have been in life right now. And perhaps, she doesn't want to consider it, a light frown traced upon her lips as she breathes in the atmosphere.

"He's pretty fun to talk to... Sometimes, he comes around for tea at my place and we talk about good books to read."

She says just the right thing to break his superficial smile, tugging a moue onto his lips. "He comes to your house?" What the hell is Martín del Mar thinking? Killian's eyes narrowed, his dark brows knitting as his frustration arched.[break][break]

"Just dangerous." the firmness of his tone said he wouldn't explain, even if pressed. The secrets of Martín del Mar weren't Killian's to share. Their friendship earned him that much, but that didn't mean Killian wanted him around his sister. [break][break]
