"It's time for you to get some new companions," Amber said to the Umbreon at her side, wandering Route 123 with a critical eye.

The Johto influencer had heard tales that some of the Pokemon in the area varied wildly from the ones in her own possession, some venomous with Poison and others light and delicate as a Fairy. Admittedly, her own penchant for Dark-types had also led her to this way around Mt. Pyre, but she was intrigued either way--and given the small size of her current team of Pokemon, some additional firepower seemed in order.

Especially if she wanted to become stronger. Which Amber did, more than anything in the world.

Amber closed her eyes and exhaled, trying to focus her attention on the shadows in her surroundings. "Let's hope something decent shows up, shall we, Lucifer? Get ready to fight." There was thrill in the chase, after all.

When Amber said she wanted something different, a Gulpin wasn't exactly what she had in mind. Never liked the ugly little things. She wrinkled her nose at the foul stench emanating from the Poison-type and pointed for Lucifer to dispatch of the offending Pokemon immediately. A Dark Pulse rippled through the clearing as the Gulpin scattered, and Amber heaved a sigh of relief only when it was safely out of sight.

"Surely there is something better? Let's keep looking, Lucifer."

A Morgrem? An interesting change of events. Amber grinned, drawing forth a Pokeball from her pocket and tilting her head towards the Morgrem meaningfully. Lucifer immediately pounced into action, dazing the magenta Pokemon with a Confuse Ray that left him stumbling. As if accepting defeat, the Morgrem bowed his head; Amber caught too late, however, the attack prepared to catch her Umbreon unawares.

"Lucifer, look out--!"

The Morgrem's disheveled hair lashed out, striking the Umbreon with False Surrender's deadly accuracy. A shimmer of Moonlight brought Lucifer back to his feet, shaking his head in irritation as shadows radiated about his form in retaliation. The Umbreon's Dark Pulse struck the wild Morgrem hard; already left shaken by the Confuse Ray, he seemed off-kilter enough to risk a Pokeball his way.

"Here goes nothing," Amber exhaled, fingers crossed as she tossed a Pokeball to capture the wild Pokemon.
