The terrain was a filthy mess of mud, snow, and ice. The transition from winter to spring was always a particularly unflattering one, Remiel thought. He hardly left the estate these days without a sturdy pair of boots on.

Today, he was intending to spend the whole day in the Safari Zone. New Pokémon had reportedly arrived. Which also provided him the perfect opportunity to continue training HERIS the MOTHIM in subduing and capturing assets.

A WISH is made upon a star in a secluded grove in the forest. Remiel and his Mothim follow the light chime of a bell before discovering a CHINGLING there. It hangs from a tree branch and gazes upward with fascination.

Neither trainer nor Pokémon care to interrupt the little baby's private time. With a wave, Remiel gestures for Heris to follow him as he walks off. The Chingling never realizes they had been there.

The OSHAWOTT appears enraged by the Mothim's aerial mobility. It leaps up into the air to deliver a NIGHT SLASH in vain. Instead, it is pelted with SILVER POWDER from the moth's large wings and thrown backwards.

After hitting a tree and being rendered unconscious, Remiel cuts in with an empty luxury ball in the palm of his hand. He casts it towards the otter's dormant form, hoping to snag this capture quickly.

They enter the SMOKESCREEN with patience and caution. The wily CYNDAQUIL that lurks within it thinks it can trick the pair and ambush them within it. What if fails to understand, however, is Heris' ability to CAMOUFLAGE.

As such, all it manages to see is Remiel, seemingly walking alone and unprotected. When the Cyndaquil makes its presence known by the sparking of the flames on its back, it is quickly blindsided with an AIR SLASH from the sneaky Mothim. The attack sends it out of the radius of the smokescreen, crashing into a tree before slumping to the ground.

Remiel follows the sound of that thud until he emerges out from that black cloud himself, dropping the arm that shielded his nostrils before he pulls an empty ball out of his pack. He tosses it at the Pokémon afterwards.

The ROWLET proves to be a worthy opponent as it attempts to keep Heris away with its LONG REACH. The sharp blades of a RAZOR LEAF barrage embed themselves into various trees in a vain attempt to strike down the airborne Mothim. But it can't hope to keep up.

Eventually, Heris swoops out and seizes the moment, delivering a swift AIR SLASH that hits its target to great effect. The Rowlet is blown back in a flurry of feathers before landing on the ground below. Afterwards, Remiel produces an empty luxury ball from his pack and casts it.

The GROWLITHE put up the most fight of them all. It's natural type advantage against his Mothim was clear, but it was exactly this kind of challenge Remiel had brought it into the Safari Zone for. If it could survive a FIRE FANG, it could go up against most targets that its master sent it to capture.

The bout if fierce and, for a moment, Remiel wonders if the Growlithe won't rip Heris' wing off. The Mothim shakes with a cloud of POISON POWDER bursting from its wings, however, then hits the pup with a telekinetic blast (PSYCHIC) that sends it crashing into the cliff face behind them.

Remiel nods; proud. Then he produces an empty luxury ball from his pack and tosses it at the fallen canine.
